Just so it's all in writing here in case we have any other drivebys -- Emp is pretty great plot-wise in that if you really want to, you can 100% ignore it. For example, my other character has been there since the start of the game over 3 years ago, and while I usually have him around during events that come to the area he actually lives in, the vast majority of his CR and his threads are slice of life and trolling people. He is the sparkly Victorian adopted uncle mentioned up above in the ad, and I get plenty of satisfaction just working within the setting precisely because he's surrounded by so many great characters. Next month he's making them all go out dancing!

Meanwhile, I apped Kolivan in partially because he's more likely to go on the expeditions and things that my other character has no interest in. We had one this month, but uncle sparkleflapper had so much drama going on that I wound up ignoring it, and was still fine for AC because we had Lotor for him to talk to and because Steven Universe recently regained his pink lion friend and Kolivan wished to Gather Intelâ„¢. A lot of the cast can be pretty slow, but our Allura in particular is usually around and reliable if you get to the end of the month and need a thread, and likewise my schedule is super open and given plenty of warning I can sit down and boomerang.

And so! While there's pretty much always plot available, the setting itself gives you a ton to work with because of all the emotion effects and magic going on, and if other things have your attention it's super easy to say "Thace spent this month generating calm for the angry whale god and sipping alcoholic smoothies". That's genuinely helpful as a mechanism! It all depends on what you'd want out of having Thace in the game. Marmora Sitcom
