synodiporia is, in my experience, very OC-friendly (from what I've seen OCs and canon characters get the same ratio of effort that was put in and results coming back). It has AU elements - essentially the characters visit worlds, and in those worlds either stay themselves or are AUed into the worlds. It's medium sized and the speed ...depends on where in an event we are? Typically the two "return to home base" weeks and the first "world" week are fast, and everything else is medium to slow. It's pretty plot heavy, but due to the "visit worlds" structure it's really easy to jump back on the train if you fell off as you just wait for the next "return to homebase".
