I've made melodiesofeternity (a Final Fantasy-inspired game) work for S'reee here (she has no first-hand technology experience, and most user interfaces aren't set up for fins), but she has worked with humans before, and it did require working with the mods. Mostly because a whale is even harder than a jackal in terms of housing and mobility.

Characters get a NPC companion (a Moogle) who can explain technology and other species (the game setting is multi-species, though all the native sapient species are bipedal). S'reee's partner is actually the one who does all her button pressing until I can justify getting her voice controls for her tablet. The game is relatively new (albeit a loose sequel to a previous game), so most of the plot is exploration and answering questions, with some ominous stuff.
