FOR GAME ADS:

➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed.

➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad.

FOR GAME QUESTIONS:

➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme.

➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted.

FOR CHARACTER ADS:

➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join.

➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form.

➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above.

➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened.

SUPER! Granted there's not a lot of memes out there for family things or even general interactions, but if you ever think of just a little background/behind the scenes thing, I am your girl!

I think I can manage to throw a Dimitri your way, though when multiple versions of a story exist and I like them I kind of end up mashing them up — in this case, the film and the musical. (My Hans for example is pretty much a Frozen film/novel/musical hybrid lol.)

PREMISE

First is the door of sleep. Sleep offers us a retreat from the world and all its pain. Sleep marks passing time, giving us distance from the things that have hurt us. This is the mind's way of protecting itself from pain by stepping through the first door. Second is the door of time. Many memories are simply painful, and there is healing to be done. The saying 'time heals all' is false. Time heals most. The rest are hidden behind this door. Third is the door of madness. There are times when the mind is dealt such a blow that it hides itself in insanity. While this may not seem beneficial, it is. Last is the door of conjury. The final resort. Nothing can hurt us after we are passed, or so we have been told.

And above all, watch with glittering eyes this whole new world around you.

Through the doors of consequence and into Sulim, covered in ice and an unstable atmosphere, civilization has adapted and spread out over floating cities: Muitos Uso, The Torri Isles, and Ruina. Once an amalgamate of enlightenment and peace, a violent act of nature split one into three. Time forced each new city to develop rules and governments of their own, but one belief stood solid:

No great decision of importance will be made without the test of truth and consequence.

As there are no longer any impartial witnesses to hear and decide, a conjurer opened the doors and brought in the neutral and Unswayed, cursing them. They are offered a home in any of the three cities and given the best that city has to offer. When the moon is full, leaders from the three cities hold a meeting that the Unswayed are called to attend. The leaders put forth their proposed acts. The Unswayed listen. They converse. They question. And then they choose, majority either casting the act aside or allowing it to be begin.

When you permit an action, you accept the consequences of that action. When you desire a consequence, you had damned well better have thought it through.

CURSED is a panfandom fantasy game where characters directly effect the outcome of the world and its three floating cities with elements of exploration, action and consequence, crack, horror, and more to be included.

CURSED

Each character is pulled into the game setting from their world and will pass through the doors. When they wake, it'll be in a neutral area between the three cities, and they will have a word marked onto their body. This word is their 'curse' and is a side effect of magic and its imperfections. It is permanent, on the forearm, and cannot be removed. Players can choose to use the workshop after they are accepted into the game to decide the effects of their cursed word or may decide on their own. The word is given to the player during acceptance and can be re-rolled one time. Characters are called the Unswayed or Cursed, depending on who is speaking about them.

i've looked at lifeaftr before and gave it a pass bc it seemed very focused on survival, which isn't really my cup of tea. BUT i didn't actually ... ask anyone in game about it, so! how much does survival factor into day-to-day life for characters? does it play a major factor in events?

hadriel if you haven't looked there before! it's a medium-pace horror game (i would say it's a game with elements of horror, honestly, not a full-blown horror game) and there's both an inquisitor trevelyan and a cole c:

ngl it was super survival-based at first but after the first few establishing months, it shifted pretty evenly into a more exploration and innovation-based setting instead. the only "survival" aspect that i'd say still plays a part in day-to-day life is the fact that most of the setting is pretty low-tech, but characters also upgrade and innovate as they go (i.e., we didn't start with a network, but characters were able to get a bulletin board working within a few months of the game's start, and have now progressed to walkie-talkie like communication devices with screens and shit)

events tend to vary a lot more wildly; we run the gamut of horror to action to even...i guess mystery? we had like this hanahaki disease/honesty plot last month, idefk what genre to put that under besides "fucking anime as hell"

❄ Because he's pretty obscure: Onni is a cranky but soft-hearted mage who cries a lot. He's overprotective and scared of change. Would be an excellent 'big brother' figure, and I'd love to throw him into situations that take him out of his comfort zone. 27 years old. Post-apocalyptic.

khuioduan might be of interest to you. it's a quite tiny panfandom fantasy game with (I think) a current character roster that's only in the realm of 25-30-ish characters, with lots of opportunities for cross-canon CR. I'll go ahead and say that there is a lot of slice-of-life RP, but you can also generate your own plots based on monthly affinities, which are a neat feature I haven't seen in many other games. there is a gradually unfolding metaplot with related event logs about once a month (we're in the middle of one now!), and the storyline is quite mysterious.

khu ioduan is a tiny panfandom fantasy game set in an entirely original secondary world, where you get lots of opportunity for both slice of life as well as plot-centric RP, depending on your preference. the pace is quite slow, everyone is backtag-friendly, and the metaplot is rolled out through mod events each month, though you're more than welcome to generate your own player-specific plots using an affinity system that is quite neat, I haven't seen it used in many other games on DWRP. we can't offer you any cast members sadly, but since we have a small Houseki no Kuni cast who are also all gems, I know the chance to thread with Amethyst would be quite welcome.

Hello! I spotted this canoncall thingus and couldn't get it out of my head. My initial thought was to try and play Carter, but I super love all the SGA characters. I'm less familiar with the SGU ones, though they're also great. Mostly, though, if I got into the thing I'd love to have some sort of hook to help me pick which charrie I wanted to create. So! Query! Do you have any thoughts to storylines or ideas you're particularly curious in playing out with SGA castmates?

I'd absolutely love to write with Mayuko, because there isn't nearly enough of them in the manga. ;; I'm flexible about canon point, but generally have him set around the time he and Mayuko started getting closer? I'm cool with anything, though! Kana interactions post-wedding would also be interesting, angsty as it may be. Otherwise, I'd just really love to write with some Furuba babies again.

for Shinichi — Literally anything. I'm playing him when he was still in his ~awkward nerdy stage, and as a result, have more room to explore him? Basically he's still in the phase where Migi was relatively new and they're having to learn how to co-exist, so there's plenty of potential for shenanigans there. I'm here for general stuff, AU stuff, romantic lines or platonic ones. Alien friends for Migi... Horror stuff is loved as well, given his canon. But so is really cute stuff. So, just so you're aware -- applications open just after midnight Sunday and close midnight Tuesday, and then it'll be early November they next have a window I think! You obviously do not have to hit this window but, if didn't want to wait until November it's pretty soon!

THAT SAID, John has gone through a metric tonne of interpersonal drama in this game because (here is where you pretend to be surprised) he tried to do everything himself and when it went wrong held himself entirely responsible. The short version is I put him on a doomed escort mission and the thing they lost got used in an evil ritual to revive an undead dragon and even though there were other people there John is like yes, but ALSO I WAS! AND THUS I SHOULD HAVE STOPPED THEM GETTING IT. OR STOPPED THE RITUAL!

So now he's in the low-key driving himself into the ground until he's exhausted part of a depressive cycle.

Obviously I am like, deeply bias, and would love any of his team to come hang out with him in weird space adventures! But someone to help pry him out of this would be good. That said, he'd probably be instantly cheered up a little just to have someone. Other hooks: John's roommate is Ianto Jones who is pale and blue eyed and sassy and keeps making him think of Rodney. It's not that he replaced you Rodney he just, needed a new sidekick to bounce ideas of... complicated by Ianto giving him the adoring puppy eyes constantly and being like, a lot younger. Also, I used activity points to give him general technopathy so his ATA gene basically works on everything now. He has no idea why it happened and is just as confused as anyone else. John also has a traveller gun like Ronon has now! A shiny new one I got that with AC points for him, so he can awkwardly explain the space people gave it to him.

If you did want to play Carter I'm sure she'd enjoy nerding out about all the Natha tech and John's overpowered ATA technopathy. John would enjoy nerding out and being low-key annoyed with the Natha alongside her for sure! She'd probably also find Ianto cute, lbr, he makes good coffee and is a suck-up. Obvs Rodney might find this all weird but equally fascinating on a nerdy level, with added bickering, and he might slightly love Ianto for his coffee machine and move in WHO KNOWS. There are a hundred possible dynamics.

OTHERWISE, I have no idea what next month's event will be but everyone on the surface recently watched an incarnation of the god they worship turn a big dragon to stone alone with herself. So there's some interesting inter-refugee-locals politics and 'why didn't we just tell them the Natha have a spaceship and are powerful like the Ancients' dynamics that might interest Teyla, since the Natha have tried to be... gestures, hands-off? John has a lot of opinions about this himself, from the perspective of someone who has dealt with the Ancients being secretive before which... of course, most other people have not.

I'd guess Ronon is the hardest to hook bc he's not chatty but, John was hunting down evil Shamans after the last event. There are probably still some evil shamans. I feel that Ronon would enjoy a good evil shaman hunt. They raised an insane undead dragon and made animal chimeras. That's pretty solidly evil!

I don't know, is this helping, I think I just rambled. I just woke up!

Edit: Also, this is our current test drive for anyone interested in playing!

ANOTHER EDIT: actually now I'm more awake the fact that Carter is John's superior could give you a lot of interesting mileage. Not that... John is exactly good at toeing the line, but he'd still feel obligated to explain & defend himself to her ! Also... He'd probably quietly try literally & metaphorically shoving Ianto in a closet at first tbh even though... he cannot actually be discharged when the Air Force no longer exists
