Maybe thewake would be to your liking? It generally has a slow/medium pace, I know most people there loooooooove comment spam (and gagtags), not a sex game, and has a huge focus on personal growth with in-game rewards for characters who develop and change.

It basically has characters waking up in the center of the multi-verse with the ability to bend reality to their will, though the city where they wake is also alive and can bend reality a hell of a lot more than any one person (or even all of the populace) can in regular events called Reality Storms. There is also an on-going plot, though you don't need to know nearly all of it in order to jump right in (as this game is old AF and it's a lot).
