Is familiarity with FFXV good enough for a player to put their character in DPSCheck, or should players specifically be familiar with FFXIV?

I have only played FFXV Pocket Edition, and I’m not sure if that means I understand the workings of Final Fantasy well enough to play in a different Final Fantasy based setting or not.
