I'm looking for a game that allows malleable protagonists, like a Fallout character, or a decently backstoried multiplayer character. A broad category, I know, I've just had a bit of trouble finding one.

Preferences!
- Highly character-driven plot
- Medium-ish pace
- Low-stress activity check
- Horror, adventure, sci-fi, those games that are set in a city and there's an underworld to participate in or like a Megacorp or corrupt law enforcement to contend with that idk what to call. Noir maybe??
- Nerfs are fine
- Dreamwidth only
