October EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted. FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. [game's current cast]: Robert E. O. Speedwagon, Jonathan Joestar, Jean-Pierre Polnareff (End SDC), Narancia Ghirga...and possibly Doppio (WITHOUT Diavolo) and 12 year old Dio Brando; apps are processed next week.
[who I play]: Jonathan Joestar
[wanted]: Legitimately, we'd love to see just about anyone- regardless of part! Half the fun of the current cast is how many missed points of information there are between them, and where they go from there.
[game info]: Ryslig is a Body-Horror Game, which can at times for people veer into a few shades of Slice of Life and Dark Comedy depending on how the cast plays things out. Ultimately however, the premise is the same.
You've arrived into a penninsula locked away from the rest of its world, and part of one that isn't your own. The setting could be said to resemble sweden of the 1950s- but it's anything but. The locals are wary- some of them outright hostile even, and for good reason.
In one month, you're going to start turning into a monster.
Characters who are brought to Ryslig slowly transform into a randomly determined monster over the course of four months, and from there are left to handle the hostilities thrown at them as best they can. (Random here, is only partially so- applications include a list of traits, and the option to request assignments be matching or conflicting, with six Opt-Out slots to avoid monsters players do not prefer. Random IS however, an option as well)
Maybe this month the forest has come alive and started taking people over. Or maybe the giant whale from the sky just ate everyone and put everyone through SAW trials.
Yes, that was an event. It was actually the most recent one. Events vary in the degree of horror, and the flavor of it, and of course run 'opt-in' by default; outside of the events, the rest of the game has a wonderfully involved cast of players who are willing to take part in anything from 'this week, we have to Kill a guy' to 'and so, today, we're getting A Job. (Or getting drunk. There's a lot of drunk parties in Ryslig, can't imagine why.)
For added fun, here's what the cast is dealing with so far; Narancia has been around longest, and is a Manticore, a flesh-eating, cat-like monster. He's also teaching two little girls about stands, and they're going to dress up as them for halloween. Cute.
Polnareff is still going through the changes to become a Kelpie, a water horse- he tried to leave Ryslig by train. This failed. Now he's just going to find an apartment. Hopefully this won't fail.
Jonathan and Speedwagon meanwhile just arrived this month! Jonathan is going to eventually end up a demon- Speedwagon is going to end up a Pooka (rabbit-like monster)- neither of them have a single clue about those details and are mostly trying Really Hard to Adjust.
All of them spent a week inside a whale. It sucked.
