okay but like, i'm embarrassingly dc-blind in ... basically every way but i sure do love cross-superhero shenanigans...
ANYWAY, i currently play over at in the night, which is primarily a mystery/horror/survival game, with the horror veering from psychological through to more body horror (the exact extent of which depends on your preferences — the mods are very open and cool with not forcing anyway to play anything that they're not comfortable with). there's a nifty overarching plot, the progression of which is pretty reflective of character decisions and actions (this is where the mystery/survival aspect comes into play).
the plot tends to involve one larger, more action/horror-themed events each month, whilst the set-up (and general mix of characters tbh) allows for SOL in between these. pace-wise, i'd say it's pretty medium as an overall, with slower periods — i work FT and don't always have loads of free time, and keeping up isn't an issue at all. i'm also based in the uk, which means i CAN SAY VERY CONFIDENTLY, the playerbase is fab with backtagging.
the game is currently at player cap, but the mods are going to be increasing this in january!
i know you said dc/canonmates are neither here nor there, but we have a comics jason todd in game, and a gotham bruce wayne. (what do those words mean? i don't really know.)
if it appeals and you've got any questions, feel free to ask away! if not, that's cool too and good luck finding a game!
