There's opportunities to explore different parts of the world and uncover mysteries, there's emotion-based deities known as the Arehtei who need help and sometimes can swing out of balance, and there's also been some sort of mysterious antagonistic force that seems to have been building up in the background. There's also smaller plots along the way and plenty of room for player plots too!
