FOR GAME ADS:

➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed.

➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad.

FOR GAME QUESTIONS:

➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme.

➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content).

FOR CHARACTER ADS:

➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join.

➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form.

➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences.

➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR.

➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above.

➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game.

➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened.

➤ Important note: IP logging has turned on due to multiple instances past and present of problem players trying to return to the dwrp community via emp after being banned other places, so I'll be IP logging from now on, and will compare notes with the rpa and wg mods (as well as game mods) where appropriate if it seems like someone that has been mass banned. I will not pay attention to IPs otherwise. I don't care what people like playing or who's who. So please feel comfortable to keep doing your thing, anon or otherwise. The knowledge will only be used for really egregious problem cases.

interested in a number of things including: characters (human / supernatural/ doesn't matter) that might have wishes they feel strongly enough about that they would pay to have them granted, and therefore end up in the shop with yours truly acting shopkeeper who can grant them. admittedly just because he can does not always mean he will, which is also important to potential scenarios depending on how you want it to pan out for your character and it can be discussed --- and probably should be, especially if i'm completely canon blind to your characters' canon --- motivations, origins, past and future deeds, etc. (though i'm fairly well-set if you've even got a basic info page or wiki link and would inquire with you about subtleties you feel pertinent to their exchange.)

also interested in: assumed cr characters of supernatural types if you'd also rather have your supernatural being be the kind that for some reason or other can go back and forth from the shop without having a wish -- and we can hash that out adequately as we deem; there are such creatures in his own multiverse as well -- a devil and an angel, specifically, among many others so anything is likely fine. he has also had creatures brought into his shop by others...there's a fair amount of wiggle room in terms of what we can arrange OOCly even if ICly there are definitive Rules he has to abide by.

worth noting: watanuki is a friendly enough person but the acting role of shopkeeper can make him seem either unyielding or untrustworthy or both, also unsettling. he appears to be a teenage boy because that's when his time 'stopped', but depending on when your character meets him he's closer or further from that by 100+years or so. yay? well not yay for him. but yknow. the mantle of shopkeeper does seem to bestow upon him a palpable ~je ne sais quoi~ and a distinct prettiness that he didn't have in his pre shopkeeper role, but that might just be the nature of his magic coming into its own; it's never explicitly stated but it is rather clearly illustrated.

optional new shopkeeper timeline specific: if you want your character to interact with him closer to the beginning of his time as shopkeeper, i have him going through a learning curve that means he'll probably exact a lesser price than he needs to and absorb the repercussions himself, though that's perhaps only interesting if your character would care/be interested in that cause-effect.

the actual rp mechanics: on my side of things, the actual tags --much like this comment -- can range from lengthy to moderate. it's generally dictated however by what feels right for the combination of the action Happening and the thoughts and experiences relative to watanuki as a person regarding them. most importantly though, the more material you give me, the better i can play him to your character. i've had plenty of characters give me crucial and useful info in tags 1/4 the size i usually deal, and that's more than okay. this set-up in general doesn't really lend itself to memes ~~even if he deserves his soulmate and sometimes it's tempting damnit~~, but i'm totally open to throwing him at your character's open post, or you can come to his, which much like the shop, is open all the time.

etc: things he won't grant which doesn't mean your character can't ask (because they can!) but jsyk: death, resurrection, love those are the hard no's .......oh also he can't leave the shop. so like. truly. you must come to him, no exceptions. additionally as a TRULY last note, it doesn't have to be positive cr. he has a fairly fraught existence so negative cr is fine and we could figure it out.

uhhhhhhh tl;dr in conclusion i am sorry this is longwinded! i just get the sense it's not a well known canon so to include as much information as possible seemed maybe helpful..... ah anyway, hi if you're interested please reply here! thanks!

so this really sounds up my alley and something heather would genuinely do (make a wish to bring back her dead father even if it leads to being told no and then choosing something else). i'm not sure if you know anything about sh3 but basically she's the third incarnation of alessa gillespie and has a lot of connections to cults. she also killed god??

!!! very interested! i'm sorry it's taken me a while to get on today to reply! i was genuinely hoping for some interactions where he cannot/will not grant the wish so that's perfect. and while she can definitely try to choose something else, she also isn't beholden to doing so if she ends up feeling that's the only thing she truly wants. i'll read all the information on her journal and use it as a reference for whatever our thread ends up being. are you familiar with xxxholic at all? if not, i can provide a basic idea of what it will look like/be like for her to enter the shop/ even see it at all.

that sounds fantastic, i'm pretty familiar with it up until the start of rei so i know a lot of it but also not enough after watanuki becomes the shopkeeper. i can set something up in your open post if that works? although I don't want to assume much about the shop itself so any details would be appreciated.

IDK if this would be up your alley at all but I'm vaguely pondering throwing a 500-year-old fox trapped in a teenager's body at him because Basically Ageless Supernatural Shenanigans. I'm only vaguely aware of XXXHolic ~~I think I watched a few episodes however many years ago that was???~~ so I'd need to collaborate to figure out an AUing-together scheme, loose trajectory, and how exactly to start, but I'm sort of imagining her showing up incognito as her Hello Fellow Teenagers identity to investigate him after hearing rumors, and ends up taking a liking to him? I'm spitballing, but let me know if this sounds like a thing that makes sense and/or could be interesting to pursue!

s-super late replying on his other account utwiejofksd im so sorry OTL i'm really in and out these days. BUT THAT SAID if you're still interested (totally understand if not ;; /took so long...am so slow...in general...OTL) iejsfkddslf you are welcome to throw her at his doorstep! it would be so cute for him to have some cr with supernatural characters who are intrigued by him/over time grow to like him or at least not hate him/not want to eat him OJLKWEFSDUJIOLKTEWFD

SO like for vague rundown like....since she's a fox spirit that helps already, he has a sort of rapport with some other fox spirits who run an oden stand in the spirit realm ;3; that said those two aren't powerful enough to 'cross over' to be seen in the human realm without help and this is never made clear if it extends to the shop as well. that said, i'm going to uh use headcanon and say he can MAKE it the kind of place where they and therefore she could be seen / perceived and not only that, welcomed in.

the characters in his life who aren't explicit wish makers are also never explicitly said to not make wishes so we could do this one of a few ways. 1. she has a 'wish' and that's simply to meet him, and the price of that honestly wouldn't be high because it's not a particularly precious or significant thing other than being 'fated' if we're going by holic terminology. he would probably ask for a lock of her hair or something. OR 2. no wish made or had, and she ends up in the shop and that could be due to watanuki recovering after granting a very heavy wish which means he's weaker, which means the shop's barrier is weaker and Things can get in when ordinarily they wouldn't barring the 'have a wish' litmus. so she could just...come in. and he would be like OTL again?! ---- 1 and 2 both have him anywhere from being like 117 years old or older, depending. option 3. she has a wish to meet him and he thinks that's not a 'real' wish because he's NEW to the shop owning business so he just lets her in and doesn't ask her for payment. then the shop balances out the ledgers and she would come back the next day to find him with some minor kind of damage -- sprained wrist or what-have-you -- which is the shop's way of telling him he didn't make the right acquisition. in this he's probably closer to the age he looks (16/17) we could say 18/19.

there are plenty of other options i think but those are what come to mind off-hand. i'm not on as much as i would like to be lately due to sickness but if a moderate pace wouldn't trouble you, i'm totally up for any of thse or anything that they might've sparked in your whims for what you'd like for your character <3 lmk if i should answer any questions bc i know im rly loopy these days so facehands i might've/probably missed stuff....OTL
