February EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Duplicity is an sex-focused dystopian game exploring the darker aspects and desires of characters brought to the city.
Characters are brought into the city as part of the LIES programme and are designed as Dominants or Submissives upon arrival with the former providing access to the finer things society has to offer, while the latter faces more restrictions and stipulations on their day to day lives. After three months, Dominants and Submissives alike need to enter into contracts with one another or else face various consequences.
AC requirements are any two of the following (sex is not required for AC):
- 5 log comments from your character
- Open network/log or post from your character
- 10 network comments from your character - 15 private inbox comments from your character
- TDM and game-specific meme threads can be used for AC!
Reserves open on the 12th of each month and close on the 16th. Apps then open on the 16th and close on the 20th.

[game info]: Imeeji is literally halfway based on Ensemble Stars! Characters have been dragged into hell to serve as idols for the entertainment of demons, with two factions of hell competing to try and win over the idols that have been tossed onto the show. Idols are sorted into 1 of 12 units who each have unique themes, and are forced to compete against one another in games that range from something as silly and light as social bingo to high trauma games.
There is an overarching plot and there is usually always something characters are able to engage in, from throwing lives, recieving fanmail (monthly), and so many other fun aspects to the game.
The game is memloss, but don't let it deter you. Characters are able to quickly earn their memories back! And for individuals who have played in the game consistently for at least 6 months, if they ever app another character they are allowed to app as an 'audition', which allows them to keep their memories completely! Since it is tied to plot and special circumstances, it's reserved for players who have been invested in the game a while. Currently, Tsukasa is the only member of the cast who has amnesia.
Note: As an FYI! Due to having had a Wataru in the past who officially graduated from the program, anyone who would want to app him would have to app him as an AU. But this can be as simple as picking a timeline and then having it deviate from a certain point on. It doesn't have to be drastic at all.

[game info]: The usual: Ryslig is a horror game in which characters are taken to a mysterious peninsula by the Fog God who then starts turning them into human-eating monsters (which are chosen by the mods based either on randomization or personality traits). Hilarity ensues. Or maybe it's horrible things. It's both. Any non-human characters do have to be humanized first, but they start turning into monsters soon enough so that's fun anyway. Robotnik's a faerie, and basically a horrible bug man, and while he intends to get home by any means possible this faerie thing is useful and he intends to stay that way. It's taking a long time to actually get home, but he'll do it! He'll do it!!

[game info]: Databurst is a panfandom, jamjar game set in the computer simulation of a futuristic neon city called Svelte. Now who says medievals can't thrive in a cyberpunk game? The Stark boys have their wolves and those who should be dead aren't... Robb even has Ice, because characters get to take a prized possession with them.
But, really, DB is a cozy game with a wide assortment of canons and characters. It's backtag friendly and CRAU friendly and OC friendly, AC is easy, the playerbase is great, and the plots... oh gods, the plots. There's chill stuff if you're more SoL-geared, or more explosive things if that's your cup of tea.

The Last of Us @ Duplicity

[game info]: Duplicity is a panfandom dystopian sex game that centers around negative traits and the outcome of succumbing to darker urges. Bad behavior is encouraged; events will touch on horror, science fiction, exploration, game plot, and slice of life tossed in when needed. Characters are assigned to be either Dominants or Submissives.
The Up part of the city is the lap of luxury where Dominants reside in their own extravagant apartments and have many opportunities and freedoms to pursue their favored lifestyle. Whereas the Down is home to Submissives who live in communal housing amidst crime and poverty, with very limited freedom or rights. Both roles are encouraged to form a mutual contract with each other, which allows a Submissive plenty more freedoms when assigned to a Dominant and access to the Up. Contracts do not need to be sexual in nature in order to be formed.
Ellie is adapting to the city life of Duplicity and is currently contracted. On a personal note I haven't done or seen any of the actual gameplay of The Last of Us Part II yet, though I plan to play it within the coming month. I'm happy to play canonblind in the interim! But, in short: The game is built around the premise of Bonding, which is a magical and empathic connection between two characters. Characters are brought in as either a Witch (and get Cool Magic Powers) or a Monster (and get Cool Physical Transformations + Type-Specific Magic Powers). The Bonds work best if they're between Witch/Monster, but they can be all kinds of different configurations, and it really sticks a jetpack onto your CR building when characters are literally inside each others' heads.
Game is sex-friendly (But not required), and has a pretty sedate pace anymore, with a reasonable AC. Come join us!

[game info]: Deerington is a medium-paced horror-focused game set in a Maine town that is actually connected to the dreams of a comatose telepathic eldtrich child. It has an ongoing plot with monthly events that tend to draw from different canons. The game also prominently involves fourth-walling elements, so that's something to keep in mind going in. Gar has currently been in-game for over half a year, while Scorpia's been around for a few months. Both of them have pretty much been building up CR and rolling with the punches of the events.
Note that Deerington's story is coming to an end in June, and it will lead into a sequel game that will start during the fall. The detailed announcement can be found here. Apps are still proceeding as planned for several months, so I will accept any castmates who wish to join with that in mind! The current test drive is here. Slumscape is a horror game where characters are spirited away to a place named Hakagemachi, a city of youkai. They're forced into sharing a body with one of these youkai, and try to solve the mysteries of the place they've been brought to, with plenty of horrible things happening to them in the meantime. The game is designed to challenge a character's morality and put them in difficult situations, and while characters are de-powered on entry, they slowly learn to use the powers of the youkai that they're sharing a body with.
AC is 10 comments per month, applications are always open, and the game is a lot of fun! Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions!

There's also the option to change your character into a monster who's just looking for a good time! Characters can produce energy called Manna just through touch, so they're encouraged to get close, either through conversation, platonic touching, or more intimate scenarios.
I personally would adore a McCree so he and Ashe could talk things out and eventually reconcile. But also, kelpie McCree. Unicorn McCree. You could play Horse McCree. Or any other monster you want. Doesn't that sound fun? Let me know if you have any questions! The FAQ is here as well.

The game has a wide variety of players with different tagging schedules, and can pick up speed at times, but I've never found it hard to make AC here.
Pam is from Season 5, coming in just after the Michael Scott Paper Company arc. She has been in Duplicity since the end of November, and as you can imagine, has struggled to adapt! Pam has been designated as a Submissive and is currently contracted. She's making new friends, working to develop her art into a career, and learning she is in fact Super Bisexual™.

Forgotten Tales is a small, semi-closed game where your character takes on the essence of a storybook character, granting them new powers and abilities. Here, they are tasked with restoring lost stories by acting out the roles and rewriting the stories.
The game is broken up into campaigns with breaks in between. AC is lax, proof of participation is required during campaigns but you only need to check in during breaks.

[game info]: Deerington is a horror game set in a dreamscape! And that dreamscape is set in a creepy town where things are out to kill and harm player characters. AC is on a points system; 30 points a month are required, but the pace is good for that, and there's enough going on that it's not terrible to meet.
Reserves and apps are coming up on the 1st through 5th and 5th through 10th respectively.
Events are consistent and challenging, the players are lovely, and Chapter 2 is nigh. Chapter 2 means, however, that the current game and dreamscape are ending; more info can be found here. NOCTIUM, a sex-positive scifi/fantasy panfandom roleplay set in a crystal world populated by a luminous race of people known as gems, who thrive on the backs of floating countries.
Characters emerge from a shimmering veil to a ruined landscape called the Burnished Crater. Before being consumed by the noxious environment, they are rescued by a team of gems after receiving alerts from a mobile sky station orbiting the planet′s atmosphere, the Nova. Once characters are safely guided to the station, decontaminated, and cared for, the GemScience Researchers conclude that these outworlders are Gembonded with one of the four Cardinal Gems — Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, or Amethyst — each offering unique abilities and gifts that are bolstered through intimate connections and understanding of others.
Unlike the native gems, only the Gembonded can produce Manna — a divine energy needed to balance the erratic powers of Malachite, a young god who′s responsible for bringing outworlders to Noctium and turning the world on its head.
Of course, it can′t be done alone, as characters will need to work together if they have any hope of navigating this new world and the perils ahead.
February event included a training camp for gembonded to practice their new abilities, a big ass storm and monster transformations related to their cardinal gem!

[game info]: Aef takes place in a fantasy-late-Victorian setting, but with Monsters and Magic! (Not UT monsters/magic.) Characters have their native powers stripped upon arrival and show up as either a Witch and must relearn a magic discipline through the Coven, or they arrive as a Monster, and transform gradually into one of the many varieties of Monsters available. Witches and Monsters rely on magical Bonds—the entwining of two souls—to either strengthen their magic or refrain from going feral, respectively. It's a great mechanism for getting characters out there, too!
The overall premise in Aefenglom is to combat the Cwyld, a magic blight that can infect any living thing. AC is monthly with 10 required comments across two threads. Aefenglom's apps are always open, and the app cycles are changing as of March to accept apps submitted before the final week of any given month for the next month. The game-wide cap has been lifted as well.

[wanted]: My kingdom for a Hubert! It would be a great comfort to Edelgard to have her long shadow around and I'd love to tackle some intimacy/kink bingo between them and see them bond when war can't be at the forefront of their relationship. The cast is spread out over routes and timelines; Edelgard is taken from post-timeskip CF before Byleth reappears but most other characters are from later points.

[game info]: Aefenglom takes place in a Victorian-ish fantasy setting, where characters arrive without their original powers and find themselves as either a Witch who is able to learn the setting's forms of magic, or as a Monster, transforming over their first few months into one of several different creatures. Forming magical 'Bonds' between characters is important to prevent Witches from accumulating too much magic, and Monsters from going feral. Navigation with more info is here!

Duplicity is a panfandom dystopian sex game that allows players to explore what happens when characters fall victim to their (most) negative traits. Characters are sorted into two distinct social classes; Dominants and Submissives. There's a monthly quota that characters are expected to meet (though this is only as enforced as players want it to be).
Dominants have an easier time of it; better housing, more freedoms, etc. There's an obvious IC bias in favor of them, but only in that things are set up the way they are to "encourage" submissives to form a contract with a dominant. This does not need to be sexual, though a fair number of them are. Contracts typically last for three months, at which point characters are free to renew or not. Permanent contracts are available, and those with permanent contracts seem to be seen in a more favorable light by the natives of the city.
AC is easy enough to make and sex is not required. There are a wide variety of canons (and mediums) so cross-canon is always a possibility!
Reserves are open from the 12th - 16th of every month. Apps are open from the 16th - 20th.
Pidge and Lance are currently contracted. It's due to expire at the end of March, but they'll probably renew before that happens. Hunk is currently a free agent (and will likely end up signing with someone else). Lance has been in game for roughly a year, which means he'll have "graduated" and become a "citizen" of the city. He also owns a "cat cafe" that he inherited a while back. Pidge and Lance are both post-series (but before the "one year later" time skip and Hunk is post season 8, episode 1).
Keith, Shiro and Allura have all been in-game previously, but it's been a while and players are in no way expected to inherit or interact with a character's previous memories.
