hi again -- i've been giving apocalypsehowmods a look and have been goofing off on the TDM! it's a cosmic horror / mystery-type game with a bunch of plot that's opening this month. characters can choose to work for an organisation dedicated to fighting eldritch monsters or choose to go off on their own (but still interact with the main plot when it's Very Plot Heavy); it feels very BSAA-esque except for the fact that they're fighting supernatural creatures instead of B.O.W.s to save the world :') opportunities for SOL definitely exist in the sense that folks are living in a small town and it isn't always gonna be chaos 24/7, at least as far as i can tell.

it's plot-heavy according to the nav, but how much characters are needed to interact with it to get an ending to events seems like it's going to vary according to stuff on the FAQ??? it is still not open, but it seems interesting so far in the bit i've dabbled in. if you're planning to join a game in august, i figure around that time the game should've released at least an official log and the like for proper consideration!
