Interest Check: Magitech/Steampunk-Inspired Resistance/Rebellion Game

I've been tossing this idea around in my mind for about a year and mentioned it on rpanons a few times through my refining process, and thought I'd bring it here since I'm thinking I might actually pull the trigger on it in the not too distant future.

Basically it would be set in a world where there are a species of magical creature or corrupted mages (haven't decided yet) who extend their lives and reproduce by basically hollowing out peoples' minds and bodies and replacing them. Characters are brought into the game by these creatures, then promptly rescued by a rebel force, brought back to their base camp and asked to join the rebellion for a chance at getting back to their own worlds.

My plan was to post missions every month or every second month (still deciding on this) that can vary from fighting to espionage, sabotage, and reconnaissance, to making propaganda and recruiting, to rescuing new arrivals, and anything else that might pop up in a rebellion. Missions would be handled in a D&D-lite kind of style where I lay out the rough trajectory of how things would go and players can either plot the details out for themselves, or I can offer to interject at various thread intervals with curveballs or direction if players feel more comfortable being hand-held. (I know this sounds very high-effort, my plan is to not play a character in the game and rather handle it more like a GM, which sounds like fun to me rather than work.)

As for other mechanics, I'm waffling on AC either being 10 comments that have to come from mission-related threads, or 15 comments with 10 having to come from mission-related threads. Player cap would be in the 35-40 range, one character per player to start. Players could turn in completed mission threads for points that they could use to get additional character slots or other rewards. Powers would be automatically suppressed but there would be the option to immediately regain powers but with an IC plot-related incentive to keep them suppressed. The TDM would be a magical construct/spell where prospective kidnappees are tested for compatibility to be used for continuing the species before actually kidnapping them.

Would anyone be interested in this? Any thoughts or feedback?
