ime the pace is very whatever you make of it! the mods seem to alternate very intense event months with more SOL months to allow us to catch up, so if you stick to just those mod events you will have a slow-to-medium experience and maybe get bored. but since it's designed to be a player-driven, open world sort of game, many players put in extra time to collaborate with the mods to move their player plots and character arcs forward. for example, we have characters inciting riots, getting kidnapped and interviewed, researching lore, deeply involving themselves in local politics, etc.
