post-archon quest works for me (but ngl canon au is also good, 'cause then kaeya can see halfdan... but i won't be greedy,) and i also roll with the idea that there are time shenanigans involved with kaeya too so no worries! it would make sense why dain would think he's on his own all this time if he never realized the royal prince managed to escape...
