So, I know it says you're less interested in horror, but it would be a delight to see Aloy dealing simultaneously with modern day society and horrifying superstitious bullshit being real at apocalypsehowcomm. It's a small game with lots of plot and occasional missions with clearly defined goals and most of the taken characters are adults, so it does meet some of your other preferences.
