I think tushanshu could be a great fit for Haji based on the preferences you've got listed: we're heavily log-based, we definitely backtag, and we tick the fantasy/politics/plot focus checkboxes as well. Depending on what you consider as moderate pace... I usually describe the game as slow-medium.
