December EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. since this is a niche canon, i will also now enable you (plz) one further - if you're not familiar with the terror but you think a historical arctic horror show sounds interesting, and you like the idea of a henchman-cult leader dynamic rooted in tenuous word of god potential romantic canonicity, i will absolutely help you out with a way to watch the show, give you a useful guide which you may use to identify each and every one of the 15-20 starving british men in each scene, and to motivate you further link you not one but two tozer fancams, as well as a scene in which the girls are fighting & tozer cries a little bit. but it's a great show and i highly highly rec even with rp separated from it all! :)

hickey due to game goings on somehow has a whole new host of trust issues, and he's now (so he thinks) come to terms with the idea that deep emotional connection just isn't going to happen for him, SO i think an emotional liability in the form of tozer showing up would throw a fun wrench in those plans! no matter how things go there's a lot for the two of them to hash out, as in canon tozer's henchmanry under hickey's direction did not ultimately go well for him once hickey wound up consumed by lead poisoning/madness.
tozer also i think would be super interesting in the setting as he's both a royal marine who thrives under rules, discipline, and a power structure, and someone who stubbornly digs his heels in when he feels that said structure isn't working, so apart from the obvious local victorian finds himself in sex hell drama there's plenty of interesting internal conflict there.

Zelda has been there for over a year, Link maybe half a year? We’re both super hyped about ToTK and depending on game contents, might be feeling preeeeetty eager to canon update when allowed. Fun times.

[game info]: Reparacija is a prison-basex sex game where characters have to complete certain kinks in order to be released. It's kind of a "sex bingo" in that sense, essentially! It takes place in an interdimensional alien prison where strange things happen. What can I say except "incarcerated kinky sex?"
I would love to have some fellow DNs running around! Mello is currently trying to fuck his way free as fast as possible, so putting someone else he knows in prison might stall that somewhat. Fun!

[game info]: Deer Country is a character-driven, horror-focused panfandom game that takes place in the strange city known as Trench. Blood has huge importance in this world and every character that comes into the game has been changed, not only are they technically a squid, but they're given a new bloodtype that can grant them fantastic abilities while also affecting them in various ways every single month (the effects vary every month, from something as simple as being easily irritated to dealing with severe memory loss or out of control powers).
Each month, you have at least six different event prompts that you can plot around, three from the TDM that happens at the tail end of each month, and three that belong to the main event log. Each event touches upon a variety of horror and they're always accompanied by content warnings so you're never caught off guard (eg: July & June).
The game speed can vary but it's usually medium-paced with a lot of wiggle room depending on your own tagging speed and most people are very open to backtagging into infinity. AC is fairly easy (2 proofs, either 10 network or 5 log comments, or a single proof of an open top-level/post/log that reaches 20 network or 10 log) and there are 3 AC free months (December, April, & August) and your first month is a check-in only.

[wanted]: Calling any and all players of FFXV to the game, be it the chocobros, the supporting cast, or even anyone from the Kingsglaive movie! As a Somnus-player, of course I would be especially thrilled for an Ardyn or Aera, but would be just as delighted for a Noctis, Lunafreya, or Regis! Apps are bi-monthly, only opening if we're below the player cap. For this upcoming App Cycle, we'll be temporarily increasing the cap to 85, meaning there will be 12 slots available. [game info]: Songerein is a game based off dreams and emotions. Everyone's emotions manifest in tangible ways, such as being sad makes it rain, joy gives sunshine, anger blows a hole in the wall, the phrase "I'm so embarrassed I wish the ground would swallow me whole" can be made real. As for dreams, characters can either view dreams like a recording, or they can enter them and interact with the dreamer's environment. The combination of dreams and emotions allows players to really sink into a character's personality and pull out the hidden parts of them that would otherwise be difficult to use for development and CR building.
We sometimes have small events, but our bigger events are bimonthly. There's a lot of worldbuilding with new things added to it almost every month by either players or results of an event. Players are free to come up with and are encouraged to make their own plots and can suggest events to be thrown, so there's a lot of freedom for players to work out their own plotlines. Tag speed is about medium with majority of players very backtag friendly.

[wanted]: Harry Osborn, Tony Stark and May Parker are all at the top of the list for the Spider-Man cast! Any other Peters would also be delightful. As for Steven, Marc and Layla always welcome! Or Khonshu; should be fun to put him through the wringer as a human being for a month before going monster. But really, any Marvels are always lovely.
[game info]: Monsters! Horror! Shenanigans! We've got it all! Ryslig's been around for yeeears and it's still going strong. Most of the folks in this cast are relatively new to the game though, so you won't be joining a team of Ryslig veterans. We all like to clown with a fair balance of drama and comedy, so we can provide good laughs and strong emotions.
The pace of the game is slow to medium, depending on how much you choose to interact with. AC does have a points system, but using that is entirely optional. If you don't want to bother with the bonus coins for rewards, you don't have to! 10 comments a month is all you need to pass AC. As coincidence would have it, the new Test Drive Meme has gone up today, with fresh prompts ready to go. Applications are re-opening December 24th.

[wanted]: Anyone would be delightful! This Holmes is turning 22 in January, is aware of Moriarty but hasn't met him, and is from before the Watson end scene, but I plan to canon update him through the Awakened when it comes out in February or March! He may not recognize other characters from the canon, but I'm down with him being recognized by characters from other adaptations and playing with "why are you a BABY, oh my god."
[game info]: Ryslig's not everyone's cup of tea, since it does involve obligatory cannibalism, but you can dial the horror up or down pretty flexibly. Holmes is dealing with canon-appropriate blackouts and occasional hallucination, and in order to piece together who he killed in the last event and keep an eye out for further murders, he's taken up work as a monster coroner, IDing bodies and causes of death, rather than in a hospital chemistry lab. (Also, he's a manticore, which means we're writing catboy wingfic like it's 2008.) He's having a bad time, but coping!
As for the major goings-on, Ryslig is a really great game for character study, and while there's metaplot/a yearly arc that kicks off around February as well as god faction vs. god faction conflict, you can engage or not engage with those elements as much as you want. It's a very fun setting for exploring things like, "what does this character do when faced with a no-win situation, what choices do they make when every choice is bad, and what does that say about them as a person?"
Anyway I'll probably hit this up again once Awakened's out, I'm so excited for it

[wanted]: obviously Jayce, and i have soft spots for Vi and Caitlyn, but would genuinely welcome anyone who could conceivably be wrangled into IC cooperation (or "cooperation" if you're nasty)
[game info]: A game of venerable age based on the Dragon Age series, following a plausibly expanded AU timeline, beginning at Inquisition, wherein the Herald died at Haven and the war is ongoing. (Can't wait to find out how DADW is gonna mess with us, bring it on, egg.) While PCs started off as members of the Inquisition, they've since splintered into their own official group of scrappy misfits, with independent Forces, Scouting, Diplomacy, and Research divisions.
Knowledge of DA canon is a bonus, but not required; if you're intimidated, we'll help! Characters from Arcane would be rifted in as part of the jamjar mechanic, unless you choose to make an AU native version, which could also be neat (though you will need canon knowledge for that). Casts are capped at six per franchise, so we have five open slots for this one.
Plot is advanced both through mod events and player-led war table missions. AC is low with a rewards system for enchanted items, improvements and ability specs. Average game pace is medium, with a mix of faster and slower players. It's backtag friendly, forgiving when everything insists on happening so much, etc, though not without boomerangy moments.
Also,
- in addition to logs and inboxes, we have a sending crystal network, for all your yelling-at-a-rock needs
- there are so many stairs, your character's ass will look great
- magic-powered technology is a big focus of the research division; among current projects are determining if foreign runes will work with native magic (outcome unknown) and building a whole-ass airship (outcome extremely cool)
- illicit science crimes involving human experimentation also becoming a focus (don't blame V it was like that when he got here)
- Viktor came in from episode 7, before augmentation, and has been here a little over four months
- thanks to a metaplot incident, he does not remember what Jayce looks or sounds like; he knows he has/had a partner and recalls events around him, but his memory of Jayce as a person has been smudged... kind of a built-in bro meet cute, if you're into that
- i've been in and out of this game a few times since open, it's my cozy forever home

[game info]: Reparacija is a game with Check-In AC only that features elements of sci-fi, horror, and sex. It is set on a dying alien planet in the prison colony Reparacija. A prisoner's sentence is physical in nature. If you choose the light track, it'll be stuff like flirting, holding hands, and cuddling. If you choose the standard track you should be prepared to write some smut. If you choose the extreme track you'll be given taboo kinks to write out with fellow players. It is medium-paced, back-tag friendly for the most part, and there is an event and a TDM every month.
