April EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. Ximilia is a character-driven sci-fi mission game. Characters willingly agree to join the crew and help collect ~mysterious orbs~ scattered across different worlds, in order to use their power to change a regret from their past. The base is a space station, but missions hit a variety of themes and settings. AC is 10 comments across 2-4 threads, and the game has a 60 character cap. (We're pretty close to cap right now, but slots usually open up before app cycles, so stay tuned!) So far I've found the game to be medium-paced and very backtag friendly!

Deer Country is a panfandom horror game where characters are reborn on the shores of the Waking World, and enter a mysterious city called Trench, full of old gods that love to meddle, arcane intrigue, corruption, and blood magic that grants your character brand new powers. The monthly events always offer interesting opportunity for character exploration and development, and player-driven plots can have huge effects on the community at large. Weird cults abound, monsters, mysteries, lots of mythology to dive into, and near endless possibilities, from threads about existential dread and turning into grotesque horrors, to comfy threads about cute batcats and finding joy in relationships among a world of creeping dread.
Most of the RWBY characters (with the exception of myself, I'm new) have been there for a few years, and have well established connections with the world. For newly incoming castmates, this offers some really fun ways for your character to catch up to how they've changed over the years! Bonus points: all of the writers are absolutely lovely and perfectly welcoming, eager to help newbies, and will immediately loop you in on ongoing plots. The rest of the Deer Country writers are amazing, too!

[game info]: Apocalypse How is a cosmic horror, plot-heavy mystery game that centers on characters dealing with supernatural threats and trying to avert apocalypses that threaten to destroy the world they've fallen into.
It's a small horror game with a setting based on The Magnus Archives (you don't need to know anything about TMA though) with a monthly event log and full of very friendly folks! The latest TDM is here and apps are open from the 7th to the 10th every month.

Or Khonshu; should be fun to put him through the wringer as a human being for a month before going monster. But really, any Marvels are always lovely.
[game info]: Monsters! Horror! Shenanigans! We've got it all! Ryslig's been around for yeeears and it's still going strong. We all like to clown with a fair balance of drama and comedy, so we can provide good laughs and strong emotions.
The pace of the game is medium, depending on how much you choose to interact with it. AC does have a points system, but using that is entirely optional. If you don't want to bother with the bonus coins for rewards, you don't have to! 10 comments a month is all you need to pass AC, and we recently revamped the Activity Check page to reinforce this notion. In fact, the mod team is working on revamping most of the old info pages to streamline information.
As coincidence would have it, the New Test Drive Meme will go up later today, with fresh prompts ready to go. Applications are re-opening April 24th. But that's not all! All of May will be a Fourth Wall event, so if you want to drop into the game and play around with us for a month, no strings attached, that's possible too!

Characters do have to touch at least once a week to survive, but it can be as simple as hand holding, and there's a fun quest board that has a ton of options for characters to earn money and build thaf sweet, sweet CR. There's always something to do, and if you're looking for a nice, medium paced game, you've found your match here.
The game accepts all sorts of characters and everyone is super chill. If you've got an obscure character like Iggy here, it's perfect! The mods are really nice too. They let Iggy keep his stupid clown car AND a small chain chomp as a pet!

He has to deal with how things have changed in the time he's been on the shelf, but at least people love the meme generator he programmed for the computers. He has a canon update to Legion that he's still processing, because that's a lot of memory to pack in, but either way he still wants to get out of there and get back to better tech.
The test drive meme will be opening today (edit: it's up!), while reserves and apps will be coming later in the month. If you'd like something with less commitment, May will be a fourth wall event, so you can bring in some hacker pals to play around without apping then if you'd like.

TRP is a small-medium game with a friendly cast, easy AC requirements (10 comments/1 open TL a month), and a relaxed pace that has been going strong for years now. It is a survival/slice-of-life game for the most part, with interludes between events, and opportunity for player run plots.

[game info]: Duplicity is a BDSM-themed sex game where characters are sorted as Dominant or Submissive and required to form contracts with one another per the laws of the city. Although sex is required ICly, it’s not a mandatory part of AC. The game is large but welcoming and there’s plenty of fun to find from sexy SoL elements to more intense themes. After a poor-taste April Fool’s joke by the city’s Creator, all characters are dealing with the fallout of thinking they were going home and leaving this all behind for better or worse. Perfect time to come distract the cast from their misery! Here is the current TDM, still going strong! The next one will be posted in May.

[game info]: Reparacija is a pan-fandom kink game set in the fictional prison of the same name, with an overarching plot and a mix of sex, horror aspects, sci-fi elements, and some 'slice of life'. Characters are brought to the facility under the guise of serving a sentence for crimes committed against their home worlds, with the promise of returning home after their sentence is completed.

fable is a cottagecore themed fantasy RP with a slice of life setting, it has a rewards-based system with emphasis on CR growth and all sorts of event prompts! its setting/vibe is heavily inspired by animal crossing, stardew valley and harvest moon. the AC is check-in and the game is invite only, but applications are always open. the current TDM can be viewed here if you would like to take a peek!

To be more specific, the game's overall themes obviously revolve heavily around D/s and adjacent dynamics, but there are often themes of brainwashing, torture, humiliation, dub- and/or noncon as well, in addition to kinks of all varieties being highlighted or encouraged during events, which are monthly and usually involve 3-5 themed prompts with a variety of different kinks for each. In general, there are (usually) various incentives for characters to participate in things they might not normally, be those incentives be rewards, punishments, or aphrodisiacs that give them that "push."
Dominants and submissives must pair up for "contracts" (a Dominant may have multiple submissives, but a submissive may only have one Dominant), which effectively give the Dominants ownership and responsibility over their submissives for a period of 3 months, at which point they can renew it, or let the contract lapse and find new arrangements. All characters have a monthly quota of needing to engage in at least three (3) sex acts (which can be anything from voyeurism to mutual masturbation to traditional penetrative sex to, well, anything else) but threading out smut is not a requirement, for AC as well as in general.

[game info]: Apocalypse How is a plot-heavy cosmic horror game inspired by the Magnus Archives. You don't need to know anything about TMA, though!
It involves Entities that feed off human fear, and averting the apocalypses that their followers want to cause. It's full of mystery and monthly plot events, and it has room for a lot of light-hearted content as well as being a Horror game.

[game info]: DUPLICITY is a panfandom dystopian sex game that centers around negative traits, power imbalances, and the outcome of succumbing to darker urges. Bad behavior is encouraged; events will touch on kink, horror, science fiction, game plot, and slice of life tossed in when needed.
