He is an excellent bodyguard. Do we want to keep a version of left-on-the-mountain? Like maybe he had an attack of geraltness and ditched jaskier on an early, crappy tour and then gets assigned to him as a guard because someone is targeting him with magic monsters or something?

I'm open to most! Maybe Steve doesnt realize it until after eddie dies and he's wrecked and then eddie comes back somehow and doesnt say anything because he thinks itsjust him, and we get some mutual pining before one of them spots a mark or they share a memory or whatever trope we go with?
