Songerein is a pan-fandom game with a laidback atmosphere that takes place in a dream world with strong fantasy vibes that gives you the option to chill with slice-of-life themes, explore character emotions (and receive practical benefits from doing so), or involve yourself in plot events that pop up regularly. Because it’s set in a dream world, you can let your creative side go nuts when you feel like it, and it’s all part of the game mechanics, so player-led imaginative endeavors are encouraged.
“But what if I’m not feeling like engaging in plot?”, you ask. That’s cool, because there’s a focus on character interactions and development that you can always delve into. The game isn’t heavily plot focused, so if you’d rather dip your toes into an event one month and sit out the next, that’s something easily doable.
“FF16 has some pretty powerful characters, do I get to keep those powers?” To a reasonable degree, yup! There’s no complete power nerfing in the game, so you can still play around with magical abilities that aren’t completely game breaking, and there’s flexibility when it comes to powers in dreams. The mods have been accommodating with the crazy kaiju shenanigans that come with FF16 Dominants and I’m personally happy with Joshua’s current arrangements (check out the app in his journal for specifics!).
“I’m not crazy about big games.” Neither am I! That’s why the 90 player cap was a big appeal when looking at Songerein. The 10 character cast cap also ensures that no one canon completely dominates the game. It’s been great for cross-canon interactions.
Need time to think about it? We got you. Songerein’s app cycle is every other month, so you’ve got time to peruse the game, get an idea of its pacing, and decide if you want to join in. The next TDM is due in October with the next app cycle starting November 1st. If you want to get an idea of what the TDMs look like, here is the TDM tag for the game.
