'Ey glad to have caught your interest! I believe for plot purposes Hawke is technically one of the non-appable characters (along with the Inquisitor and Origins Warden), but filing the serial numbers off a Canon character and making an native OC is a tried and true tradition at FR! So definitely don't let that discourage you if you're looking to play someone Hawke flavored.
