January EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. I'd love to play against a Poppy for both the cute ship stuff and for them having to adjust. The game world is good for some conflict without grimdarkening characters from lighter canons too much. Canonically, they're both dogged about wanting to protect people and this is a circumstance where the enemies match the level of intensity of their canon having like actual murdering cannibals but they can't change the minds of the bad guys with a song and dance number this time.

[game info]: "Welcome to the Undying Court, a dark academia memloss AU game set in a world of vampires. Characters in the Undying Court have lost all of their memories and instead believe that they have always been part of this world. First as a human, chosen by vampires. And then, after rigorous training, as fully-fledged vampires.
The Undying Court takes place at Castle Courtsheart. There, each of the five vampire Courts (Blue, Red, Gold, Silver, and Black) gather to teach all of the skills vampires have to offer to the new novices that they have chosen. Castle Courtsheart lies at the very center of an unnamed country, surrounded by the Blue, Red, Gold, and Silver Court lands. It is large enough to house all of the novices, teachers, and the Vampiric Council. Castle Courtsheart also regularly hosts events that draw vampires from all the lands to attend.
Although everything is provided for the novices and vampires, Castle Courtsheart has a dark underbelly. It is filled with enthralled human servants, novices of the past who utterly failed their courses. Fearing a similar fate, novices compete to curry favor with the vampires who will turn them. Meanwhile the Black Court guards the gates, standing as a chilling reminder of what happens to those who cross the vampires in charge.
Players may play novices who are learning to become vampires or vampires who are teaching the novices. Characters are encouraged to form strong bonds with one another in order to survive. You never know what—or who—might be lurking just around the corner. In additional to seasonal events hosted by each Court, characters will have to navigate perilous studies at Castle Courtsheart. All the while, they may start to have strange dreams as they regain memories and lost traits, rediscovering parts of themselves they never knew existed in the first place."

Events are monthly, and the game is invite only, and you can ask a mod or member for an invite. The game is newly opened as of about a month ago, and is bustling with activity! The next TDM will take place on the 20th of January, with invites opening the following 28th, and an EMP meme just went up!
My heart and soul will go out to anybody that brings me JJK characters. Satoru is a Gold Court teacher, and currently has no blood claimed novices, though I will happily volunteer him as a maker to any of the JJK student characters, especially the ones from his classes!
I also ship the hell out of Geto/Gojo, so if anybody brings in a Geto (adult version) and wants to ship those idiots I will be overjoyed lmao 😹 The potential for a memloss AU with them slowly recovering vital memories over time is chefs_kiss_emoji.jpeg (I'm also happy to play this totally platonic if that's more your thing!)

[why]: Being that this is a memloss game, I am playing Kirk somewhere closer to a mirror Kirk who will slowly regain his memories. I would love for him to have anyone from Star Trek to regain with. Also with a Bones or Spock or Khan, they could have an interesting dynamic where maybe they do or don't get along but remember their canon relationship alongside whatever relationship they have in game!

[game info]: Abraxas is a slow to medium paced game in a (often dark) fantasy setting. You can choose one of three starting locations in the world for your character to be Summoned. Julia is in the rural farmland of Solvunn which has a lot of creepy vibes and they worship gods there, who do answer prayers, so she's trying to get some training as a goddess. She's made contact with one of them. The Free Cities is an industrial revolution magical tech desert city area, and Thorne is high fantasy mage-driven royalty, and it's fine if people prefer other locations. They have a psychic plane where they can talk to one another or visit a neutral spot once a month.
Events happen every other month to give people time to backtag and enjoy them. It's very player-plot friendly. The overarching plot is a slowly unfolding struggle between the main three areas over a strange, massive artifact called the Singularity that seems to be the source of all magic. Events can range from discovering new areas to fighting cultists and strange beasts to diplomatic parties.
The next TDM will be on January 20th and applications open on February 1st! We have a player cap of 60, there's generally 5-10 slots open for new players by the time applications open. If you're interested, comment here and I'll let you know when TDM goes up.

[game info]: Folkmore is an Invite-Only Panfandom Multi-Genre game where characters have their true essence scooped up from their world by a being known as Thirteen, or The Fox, and dropped into the realm of Folkmore to experience Trials (the bi-monthly events) that challenge characters in a variety of ways.
Events vary in genre from more generic, chill SoL-style events (eg: a new part of the realm opens up) to more violent ones that offer plenty of chances for hurt/comfort or drama (eg: getting caught up in The Wild Hunt and having to fight to survive) and there's a large focus on character development and interpersonal relationships!
AC is Check-In only and simply requires you to write a short (or long, if that's your preference) summary of what your character did that month. No need to link threads or count comments. It's a low-stress game with a chill community!

[game info]: Golden Peacock is a panfandom smut game where characters are brought to a combined resort and casino by one of the four different "houses" (Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, or Spades), seemingly for the purpose of enjoying the pleasures that the resort has to offer. Each suit "blesses" a character with different effects, from emotional to mental to horny, granted oocly via the mods after you give a choice between two during application. Through playing a game called "Game 52", characters that have sex with each other may receive rewards or work their way up (or down, if the players so choose) the different ranks, which also effects how well they are received by the resort's guests and the condition of the suites they live in. As stated in the premise, the game is intended to explore themes of corruption, power imbalance, hierarchy, and self-discovery, but with a focus overall of character relationships and development.
There haven't been too many huge developments within the cast just yet, since our first game event just dropped last week; watch this space! For now though, familiar faces are getting their bearings seeing each other here, and new faces between the three casts are getting to know one another.

[game info]: Singillatim is a Post-Apocalyptic Survival game heavily inspired by Hinterland Studios' The Long Dark, set on an alternate earth on remote island territory cut off from the mainland and rest of the world, in the vague, furthest reaches of Northern Canada. Gameplay focuses on character development and character stories, with survival / post-apocalyptic themes, and some supernatural / folk horror thrown in for good measure. Characters are de-powered, with chances to gain powers within the game setting. There is no network. The game is small and slow-paced, with events and TDMs running on alternating months.
Characters find themselves transported from their home worlds and stranded in a wild, empty world of eternal winter thanks to strange geological/geomagnetic shifts which has effected nature and man alike. There's no escape. Only the Auroras can signal the comings and goings of this place, and they may be both a blessing and a curse to you. Create groups for survival, scavenge for supplies, learn the harsh ways of mother nature (now warped by the Aurora's power) and survive.

Expiation is a game where characters are assigned a crime without further explanation and told to await sentencing. The crime can be whatever you like! the player cap at the moment is 48/70.
App cycle is bi-monthly! both reserves and applications are closed, unfortunately. reserves will be on february 19th and applications will open on february 26th. our next TDM will also be on february 12th. but if you don't want to wait and want test the waters, we still have the DECEMBER TDM up!

aka: characters fall into a fantasy style world after being asked to make a wish and being told it will come true if they live in said fantasy style world, which is run by a eccentric wizard who looks like David Bowie at the end of a mysterious Labyrinth. Events to dive into this Labyrinth are run pretty frequently, and parties of 2-4 characters get randomized rooms to explore! The vibe is largely whimsical and fun, with occasional light horror.
Labyrinthum's monthly events alternate between relaxed events (example: finding dragon eggs to raise dragon babies, and a festival to celebrate that, mysterious crystal-filled grottos opening up, hot pools being discovered) and intense events (examples: local gelflings brainwash the player characters into playing parts in a circus, DnD taking over Somnius and a whole Dungeon to explore complete with loot, a big masquerade ball happening). Every other month brings SLEEPR, a connection-making network app where characters write their bios (or have one auto-generated for them) and make friends, flirt, or fight.
The current TDM is here. AC is five comments a month, and while it is invite-only, you'll find a lot of people happy to give out their invites! It's a very chill group, the members are super welcoming, and a lot of people are proud to call it their home game, myself included 😺

The house has drawn individuals with an indispensable existence away from where they belong and checked them in to play a sex game. Characters will find themselves spoiled with opulence and presented with endless temptations. Power, money, and status are at their fingertips. If they win Game 52 they can have any wish granted, they can be as selfish as they’ve ever dreamed because they can do whatever they want here."
Upon arrival, characters are given a tattoo based on a card suit (Hearts, Clubs, Spades, or Diamonds) and assigned a rank based on cards. This determines their status in the game and characters are encouraged to form and break alliances in order to increase their rank and status, offering multiple opportunities for character relationships and developments. The resort itself is expansive and lushly described, with secrets that are yet to be revealed.
As for Five, this is her actual dream (or is it?) and she fits pretty well in a setting that rewards her incessant desire for sex, her greed, her lack of impulse control... she's been wildin'. But I've also pulled her post Branch D where she has foggy but horrible memories of both her death and the whole. Getting absorbed by the Flower thing, so on the inside she is becoming increasingly miserable, paranoid, and contemplative. She's contemplating the meaning of life while also indulging in the local flavors, ykwim. She would be varying degrees of happy to see her sisters! Even Four. (I would be especially excited to see Four). The Intoners would thrive in this setting... mostly, and I would love to play them in a less hostile setting together.

[game info]: Labyrinthum is honestly the most open-minded game I've been in - it's great at welcoming in obscure characters and fandoms. And it also has what we call the Disney Cult - if you've got a Disney character, you've got some friends waiting.

[game info]: Abraxas is a slow to medium paced game in a fantasy setting, so most Faerûn folks should fit right in! You can choose one of three starting factions in the world for your character to be Summoned. Dark Urge is currently trying to commune with Old Gods in Solvunn and Astarion convinced another PC to hire him as a legal consultant in the Free Cities. While they are on other sides of the continent, there are face to face neutral meeting places that are accessible every month + the Horizon mechanic which allows people to meet on a mental plane whenever they want.
We've generally got plot relevant events every other month, and options for personal quests for characters are available from the mods via plot engagement! The overarching plot is very slowburn but there are lots of ways to get involved (and potentially cause chaos). Permadeath is a thing.
The next TDM will be on January 20th and applications open on February 1st! We have a player cap of 60, the taken list has us at 55/60 right now but more spots usually open up closer to app time. I have a character in each faction, so feel free to hit me up with questions!

- Patron Librarians but especially Gebura. You may be in for some complicated CR! You don't necessarily have to know or remember Jean or even be from the same relative continuity (if nothing else the Purple Tear and Limbus Company mean AUs are canon in-universe!), but anyone seen as like, In Charge of Jean may face some awkward questions and tasty, prickly CR from the people who have grown attached to this nugget. Due to the nature of the game Tiphereth, as much as I love her, may be a hard row to hoe since she's, y'know, a minor.
- Abnormalities, but with God as my witness if there's even one person who plays Little Red I am CALLING through the VOID for you.
- Guests; complicated CR the other way! Jean conceives of the Guests as, ultimately, their victims, and has been going through character arcs and shit that have them feeling a Way about being complicit in Angela's plan - and how ultimately, Angela made the moral choice to stop it, not any of her minions.
- Sinners just for fun, though I suspect the ones who'd thrive most are gonna be Gregor, Don Quixote, Ishmael ("Didn't I tell you that common sense doesn't apply here?"), Yi Sang (JOIN THE SCIENCE CREW SAD MAN), and/or Rodion. Still, it'd be really neat to have those varied slices of the City in contrast to Jean's extremely urban-district life moving from the Backstreets into LobCorp's Nest into LobCorp HQ.
[game info]: Pumpkin Hollow is a horror & slice-of-life game that hinges on the good-faith mystery of What The Fuck Happened To This Island; characters are tasked with sorting through the dark influences and revitalizing its community in exchange for being returned to true life. Currently we're slowly peeling the mystery apart, and things are ramping up with relative PC factions in addition to the formal setting factions coalescing as folks recognize common interests and ideas. Come for the crab kaiju, stay for the Transformer explaining how the divine right of kings is super cool when robots do it actually!

A dream world born from the clash of three different universes. One world produced emotion energy, a byproduct created when one's emotions manifested into a more tangible force. Another produced dream energy, a byproduct of one's dreams that allowed one to view and traverse through them. Both worlds produced so much excess energy they were diverted into an empty universe and happened to collide, producing a new, strange world made up of a new source, dreamotion energy. It remained a barren wasteland until a tear through the dimensions appeared and the concepts of fairy tales poured through. Magic, creatures, environments—they were all dumped in a central location and life began to form. But were they real? Or just figments of what they used to be? Regardless, this giant clash has created a unique world filled with unlimited possibilities.
But of course, a clash of this size would have some side effects. The dream energy in particular remains volatile and continues to seep out with its innate ability to connect to any dream in any world. If there is a strong enough resonance between the dreamer and dream energy, a version of the dreamer, a dream self, is formed and pulled into Songerein while the original body remains in their world safe, unharmed, and unaware of what's going on. Only after accumulating enough dreamotion energy can the dream self "wake up" and leave Songerein to return to its original body, all its experiences feeling like a strange, long dream.
Fortunately, Songerein is relatively...peaceful. It's a brand new world after all with only the fairy tale creatures and the dream selves, or dreamwalkers as they are officially called, pulled from other worlds as its denizens. There may be times the different energies become unstable, but it only creates a slight disturbance that eventually settles. Still, the constant connecting and reconnecting through the dream energy means that different things are randomly pulled in and disappear from the world. Those who have decided to make Songerein their home want to build onto it by using the ability to traverse through dreams to their advantage. By creating dreamshifts, they can create giant dreamscapes based on other worlds that large groups of dreamwalkers can enter and bring back concepts to be used in Songerein. Beginning with fairy tales, dreamwalkers could also form dreamshifts based on their own home worlds to bring in something from there. As a bonus, this uses the excess dreamotion energy within the world, helping stabilize it.

Songerein is a panfandom game based on the following three former games: Somarium, Empatheias, and Forgotten Tales. At its core it is a worldbuilding game with adventure and character development. Player and character action will be what decides what is brought into Songerein, be it for good or ill. Although it's expected for players to be able to create their own fun and not rely solely on the mods, Songerein is billed to be more of a relaxed game for everyone to have fun in.

[game info]: Singillatim is a Post-Apocalyptic Survival game heavily inspired by Hinterland Studios' The Long Dark, set on an alternate earth on remote island territory cut off from the mainland and rest of the world, in the vague, furthest reaches of Northern Canada. Gameplay focuses on character development and character stories, with survival / post-apocalyptic themes, and some supernatural / folk horror thrown in for good measure. Characters are de-powered, with chances to gain powers within the game setting. There is no network. The game is small and slow-paced, with events and TDMs running on alternating months.

Cassian is in the mage heavy royalty area of Thorne, and Rey and Cal are in the industrial revolution-esque desert city of the Free Cities. There's also a god-centric farmland area called Solvunn. It's okay if you're not in the same location because they have neutral meet up options every month and a psychic plane to interact with any time!
Events happen every other month to give people time to backtag and enjoy them. It's very player-plot friendly. The overarching plot is a slowly unfolding struggle between the main three areas over a strange, massive artifact called the Singularity that seems to be the source of all magic. Events can range from discovering new areas to fighting cultists and strange beasts to diplomatic parties.
The next TDM will be on January 20th and applications open on February 1st! We have a player cap of 60, there's generally 5-10 slots open for new players by the time applications open. If you're interested, comment here and I'll let you know when TDM goes up.
DESTINY @ NEON REQUIEM

[game info]: Neon Requiem is an Invite-Only synthwave neo-noir panfandom game with elements of paranormal horror, mystery, and tongue-in-cheek humor. Characters find themselves in Limbo, the realm between life and death, uncertain whether or not they have died. It’s promised that Niesha, Lady of the Dead, will sort out the mess and send you all on your way… eventually. In the meantime, characters are free to create a life in the mysterious city of Requiem, to pursue their interests, and to seek out bonds with others to generate “anima,” the life force that keeps Souls intact until they can pass on.
Just watch out for the monsters. And the crime. And the ghostly phenomena. And pay no attention to the rumors about scandal, corruption, or dysfunction in the mayor’s office. Sit back, relax, and you’ll be on your way back to life/afterlife in no time!
The game has monthly events as well as the opportunity for player-plot events (we just had a horror-themed one this month), bi-monthly TDMs, monthly apps, and relaxed check-in style AC.
