February EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. They'll get one warning for copy-paste ads, and if they spam anymore copy-paste ads after the warning, they'll be banned from the meme. MOD CONTACT: If there's trouble, tell me HERE, please! I will not pay attention to IPs otherwise. I don't care what people like playing or who's who. So please feel comfortable to keep doing your thing, anon or otherwise. PLUVIOSA
Pluviosa is a horror game set on a long-abandoned cruise ship - although it's not exactly accurate to call it abandoned when it's full Life After Humans going on inside. MAGISTERIA | A fantasy cyberpunk style jamjar
In one moment, you find yourself before a portal radiant with light, a tree of life that blazes with fire and the brilliant hues of some great, potent energy which you feel surrounding you and infusing your body. Your vision fills with colors brighter than any you have known. Should you close your eyes, you even see colors in the darkness.
In another moment, or perhaps many moments later (for you feel that time is waxing and waning), you are standing within what appears to be a station. There is not too much feeling of upheaval. Whatever you were doing before is simply on hold; instinctively, you know that, and instinctively, you feel a pull towards this place.
Soon, you will notice a vibrant tattoo emblazoned upon your skin – any shape, any size, any color – the mark of a new life and a new future that awaits.
Welcome, traveler, to the city of Magisteria, the capital of the world of Medeas – a nexus point lying at the center of all worlds. The city is as old as existence itself, with both advanced magic and technology interwoven into every aspect of life. Though arriving Otherworlders are nothing new, the marking you’ve received makes you different from the rest.
You are now capable of producing Bios, the life energy that powers the multiverse, and the people of Magisteria are looking to you for help.

STICKS & BONES: HALF OUR CAST IS BIBLICALLY ACCURATE, THE REST ARE BIRDS
erhaps you were simply going about your day, or perhaps you were in the middle of some life-changing fight, staring down death. Perhaps you're already dead. Either way, you hear a voice whispering somewhere in the back of your mind: "Do you want to play with me?"
It does not wait for an answer.
You wake up in the center of a small settlement in a dark, dreary forest- it's clearly been abandoned, given the incomplete state of several buildings. The General Store has it's lights on still, but the shopkeep is wary of his new patrons. And when you try to leave, something keeps you there. You're here to play, after all- it wouldn't do if you went home too early, would it?
FAEWILD - A Panfandom set around the Fae
February Update: As our game continues to grow, we have input rolling apps so we can get our little game to grow. As of now, we still require invites, but our invites now last 30 days, giving the person ample time to app in. Our reserves will last 10 days before another person can app the reserved person in. With our TDM being seasonal, midway through our TDM's lifecycle we will be doing a TFLN style post, and will be open to players and non-players alike (the suggestion comes from one of our wonderful players)! We'll see you at the end of February for our second TDM!
SINGILLATIM — Post-Apocalyptic Survival with Supernatural/Horror Themes
"You are the Interloper.
You are not part of nature's design."
Singillatim is a Post-Apocalyptic Survival game heavily inspired by Hinterland Studios' The Long Dark, set on an alternate earth on remote island territory cut off from the mainland and rest of the world, in the vague, furthest reaches of Northern Canada. Gameplay focuses on character development and character stories, with survival / post-apocalyptic themes, and some supernatural / folk horror thrown in for good measure. Characters are de-powered, with chances to gain powers within the game setting. There is no network.
Characters find themselves transported from their home worlds and stranded in a wild, empty world of eternal winter thanks to strange geological/geomagnetic shifts which has effected nature and man alike. There's no escape. Only the Auroras can signal the comings and goings of this place, and they may be both a blessing and a curse to you. Create groups for survival, scavenge for supplies, learn the harsh ways of mother nature (now warped by the Aurora's power) and survive.

GOOD MORROW - Premodern cult living with Eldritch overtones
And then it was over, and you were somewhere else. Settled in a pew, wearing soft robes, and listening to the glory of the Old Ones, of whom you are apparently now a new disciple.
Good Morrow is a panfandom jamjar RPG set in a sleepy seventeenth-century village that coincidentally happens to worship a pantheon of cosmic horrors. Player characters are heralded as good omens and regularly subjected to the lingering presence of the omniscient Old Ones, who always seem to blur the line between perception and peculiarity. Will you unpack the secrets of the ancient cult and find a way home? Or will you let madness claim you and trade your mind for the untold secrets of the cosmos?
All knowledge comes at a price. How much are you willing to pay?
Apps open February 16 and will close on February 23. Our current TDM is available here if you'd like to give the setting a try.

☾ SONGEREIN: fantasy dream world
Songerein—
A dream world born from the clash of three different universes. One world produced emotion energy, a byproduct created when one's emotions manifested into a more tangible force. Another produced dream energy, a byproduct of one's dreams that allowed one to view and traverse through them. Both worlds produced so much excess energy they were diverted into an empty universe and happened to collide, producing a new, strange world made up of a new source, dreamotion energy. It remained a barren wasteland until a tear through the dimensions appeared and the concepts of fairy tales poured through. Magic, creatures, environments—they were all dumped in a central location and life began to form. But were they real? Or just figments of what they used to be? Regardless, this giant clash has created a unique world filled with unlimited possibilities.
But of course, a clash of this size would have some side effects. The dream energy in particular remains volatile and continues to seep out with its innate ability to connect to any dream in any world. If there is a strong enough resonance between the dreamer and dream energy, a version of the dreamer, a dream self, is formed and pulled into Songerein while the original body remains in their world safe, unharmed, and unaware of what's going on. Only after accumulating enough dreamotion energy can the dream self "wake up" and leave Songerein to return to its original body, all its experiences feeling like a strange, long dream.
Fortunately, Songerein is relatively...peaceful. It's a brand new world after all with only the fairy tale creatures and the dream selves, or dreamwalkers as they are officially called, pulled from other worlds as its denizens. There may be times the different energies become unstable, but it only creates a slight disturbance that eventually settles. Still, the constant connecting and reconnecting through the dream energy means that different things are randomly pulled in and disappear from the world. Those who have decided to make Songerein their home want to build onto it by using the ability to traverse through dreams to their advantage. By creating dreamshifts, they can create giant dreamscapes based on other worlds that large groups of dreamwalkers can enter and bring back concepts to be used in Songerein. Beginning with fairy tales, dreamwalkers could also form dreamshifts based on their own home worlds to bring in something from there. As a bonus, this uses the excess dreamotion energy within the world, helping stabilize it.
So, what kind of world will Songerein become? Just remember…
Where there are dreams, there are also nightmares.
Songerein is a panfandom game based on the following three former games: Somarium, Empatheias, and Forgotten Tales. At its core it is a worldbuilding game with adventure and character development. Player and character action will be what decides what is brought into Songerein, be it for good or ill. Although it's expected for players to be able to create their own fun and not rely solely on the mods, Songerein is billed to be more of a relaxed game for everyone to have fun in.

interest check: horror sex game
(Anonymous) 2024-02-11 05:33 am (UTC)(link)Events and individual locations would emphasize (optional) monster transformations, sex pollen/aphrodisiacs, and other horror-y and xeno kinks. Characters would be free to avoid these and engage in less intense kinks within the lodge itself.
Inspiration: Twin Peaks, Alan Wake, web/analog horror, Fear & Hunger, We Know the Devil. But with the sex bend.
Mostly just putting feelers out before committing to comods, serious gamebuilding, etc. If there's any aspect that would really add to it, please feel free to suggest it.

(Anonymous) - 2024-02-13 16:34 (UTC) - ExpandInterest check: Hazbin/Helluva sandbox. Possible game.
I'm personally comfortable moderating either or. I like the inclusivity of a sandbox, as I'm a huge fan of having fandom spaces for roleplayers to mingle and drabble in, but I understand structure can be integral to the longevity of a community.
I am fine with either participating in the community myself, or only serving as the moderator/admin of the community, but either way, this will be a shared space, so I want to know what the community prefers.
As the participants, would you all prefer the structure of a game, something a little looser, or would there be interest in running both a game and sandbox concurrently as sister communities?
ℙ𝕝𝕠𝕥?
Sooooooort of a lot to read.
I've DM'd DND games before and such, and hosted communities on older and sadly defunct roleplay platforms(Y!Messenger), so I have a pretty clear vision of the overall direction I'd like to go in, and the beats to get it to those points. I'm also confident in my ability to ensure characters all get their fair share of time in the spotlight, as well as the movement of plot being driven by the moderators at semi-regular intervals.
I'm not sure about the exact longevity of the game, as side-plots can always derail things a bit; it's a fairly organic process. However, ideally, I would like for it to continue for a few years, at least, with the option for players to remain in the setting afterwards if they so choose.
I just wanted to get an interest check from the DW community, and field any possible questions. Feel free to ask them here, or DM them to this journal.
Without enough interest, I'll default to only hosting a sandbox for the community, and relegate the planned plot points as possible topics for non-linear scenes.
I tend to stay in my own lane, so after a search over EMP/fortanon, I haven't seen or heard of a Hazbin/Helluva-themed game being in existence, but if there is one out there already, cool! No intention to step on toes. Just getting an interest check in my ideas.

interest check: Buffyverse, 18+ (for violent themes,) horrorgame
It's a horror game set in the fifth season of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. The First Evil intends to open the Hellmouth in Cleveland, Ohio and destroy the world. You must choose a side, good or evil, to fight on. Characters of all sorts are brought to Cleveland through an underground portal and forced to choose a side. Which will you be on?
If it's not too much trouble, I could use a layout for the game and perhaps a co-mod or two that knows this website.
