March EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. Alternatively, I'm super interested in gen threads with Vi, but I'd like for him to get to interact with all the Zaunites/Pilties in turn, of course, especially since Sett will look the other way for Silco/Jinx's crimes if they're all cordial w eachother. Tho I think it would be interesting to see Silco and Sett interact, given Sett is reminiscent of a Chem Baron, but not nearly actually so arrogant/shitty. How easy/complicated is it for loose castmates to bump into one another?
What is the pacing of the game? The AC looks easy, which is helpful w my work schedule, but given it's size and age, I'd like to know how fast things move, and if it's friendly towards new players that might take some time settling into the pace.

- The mod team is very player-plot friendly! We've actually had player plots be catalysts for our tdm/event last month and this month! We actually try to encourage these things!
- we're all pretty tag-friendly!! we haven't really had many castmates/loose castmates but we're all always down to tag people.
- it's about medium speed, i think. events are every other month, and there are usually a few posts going in the beginning of the month though we quiet down when the tdm/event goes up because we all go in on tagging that. i'm told we're very friendly towards new players (i like to try to make everyone feel at home as much as i can personally), so it's all what you make of it! we're still gaining and retaining new players a good bit!

I'm glad to hear the players are friendly; usually in larger games players tend to err towards remaining insular to their fandoms, which is understandable, as things can get overwhelming sometimes. But it's good to hear it's easy to establish cr.
For the player-run plot, I'd definitely shoot you guys a DM about it. I have a notorious serial killer and a nasty demon guy in a human trenchcoat that are both great for being the big-bad of events and are super fun to play as, but not sustainable in games at all.

[game info]: It's about second chances, redemption, or at the very least attempting to change for the better. In theory. In practice, it's all about trying to stay sane while living on a cruise ship that sails through space and time which ends up with many Shenanigans along the way. Or as my character would say: it's a f*ckin' circus. There are Inmates, those bad and lost souls that are here to earn a second chance; and there are Wardens, those of (mostly) good standing here to watch over and help guide the Inmates to their graduation and second chance. There's more to it than that, but honestly the game directory and faq would do a lot more to clear it up than me typing five paragraphs of info here. The Malevolent cast has plenty of shenanigans going on, including some recent canon updates and some yet to come, and there is room for even more by adding more fuel to the fire. It'd be great to see literally anyone else from the series.

[game info]: It's set in Ultern, an Okinawa-inspired fan region with GS beta Pokemon filling up its PokeDex. It's disconnected from the other regions, but has a similar tropical atmosphere to Alola and Hoenn. It's very peaceful and fun to explore!
James is a new arrival, wet behind the ears, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed! He's the old OS->DP era pre-promotion often starving and scraping by struggler James. ^^;;; So, he'll play well with folks from his era, but it'd be fun to see how he'd react to more competent BW! era cast mates, or, I dunno, meeting certain members who later quit TR.... anyway, James is fun to play against anyone!
Lillie reeeeally misses her family, but she did get sent back home for a bit, so she's not as sad as she was before (having a little tea party birthday party with plates set out for her absent family, it was kinda depressing, aha....)
After nearly a half year of lying low and snooping around, my Buson got taken in by a former Flare grunt who's helped him get legitimate work, so he's living a pretty peaceful life in Ultern right now. He still has a violent temper if angered and handles conflict with giant mecha and tying folks up (but no beatings or attempted murder here so far!!!), but generally... Buson's pretty nice here! No crimes. Ultern's too peaceful and he can make a living easily. He can get tempted sometimes, but his priority is mostly his friends' happiness.

The February TDM is ongoing and a great intro to the setting! Recently, the game’s map has expanded and a whole new area has opened up for exploration. Sing is super chill (literally and figuratively), with an active and engaged player base. AC is one log thread of five comments per month; events and tdms/applications alternate months. I’d love for some of Wynonna’s castmates to join her there!

[game info]: Abraxas is a slow to medium paced game in a (often dark) fantasy setting. You can choose one of three starting locations in the world for your character to be Summoned. Julia is in the rural farmland of Solvunn which has a lot of creepy vibes and they worship gods there, who do answer prayers, so she's trying to get some training as a goddess. She's made contact with one of them. The Free Cities is an industrial revolution magical tech desert city area, and Thorne is high fantasy mage-driven royalty, and it's fine if people prefer other locations. They have a psychic plane where they can talk to one another or visit a neutral spot once a month.
Events happen every other month to give people time to backtag and enjoy them. It's very player-plot friendly. The overarching plot is a slowly unfolding struggle between the main three areas over a strange, massive artifact called the Singularity that seems to be the source of all magic. Events can range from discovering new areas to fighting cultists and strange beasts to diplomatic parties.
The next TDM will be on March 20th and applications open on April 1st! We have a player cap of 60, there's generally 5-10 slots open for new players by the time applications open. If you're interested, comment here and I'll let you know when TDM goes up.

An old world filled with older legends and myths, so old that no one knows what is real or not anymore. But there is one myth, one tale that some may say was just a dream… but it is the one they must now all live in.
Ancient beasts and their people waged wars and ravaged the once bountiful lands until the ground split and the waters rushed in, flooding and drowning all who once ruled the now barren surface. All civilizations were lost beneath the unending tides until the angry waters calmed and became still. Only a small handful of land, people, and creatures were saved, protected by mythical leviathans in hopes to one day revive the world. But no one cared for such lofty goals, content to only continue their survival. They would live on their leviathans with only a few deciding to settle on the numerous islands scattered throughout the world, and as time went by two armada factions developed.
The Paladins were originally created to help enforce some sense of order in a chaotic time. But as they grow more organized, their interests and purpose grew as well. Not only were they a source of order and enforcement, but they were also the frontrunners in scholarly and academic work, research and excavation of any old ruins that surface, charting and surveying all new islands for new resources, and protect and restore any new artifacts or other discoveries made. They grew in prominence, that security allowing those to flourish and create a rich city on their leviathan, the whale Elah.
The Corsairs developed in response by those who did not fit the mold. While known for the criminals and miscreants and thus often called "pirates," others who were independent minded would join to "temper" that ruthless notoriety. Adventurers, treasure hunters, mercenaries—they, too, are considered pirates. They pursue the freedom to adventure and stake claim to new horizons. While Corsairs may also delve into fields of "research," their motives are usually more selfish and have less regard to preservation. Their leviathan, Nogard the bone dragon, aids in their endeavors to avoid the Paladins, moving from place to place.
And so the people lived—until one day, someone or something found an ancient artifact that opened dimensional rifts to other worlds, forcibly bringing these outsiders to Escordvi to now live amongst its people. These rifts also brought in strange lands and stranger creatures, things that the native people find disruptive and wish to stop.
Of course, there are also those who wish to use this power for themselves.
Rumor has it that there is a special treasure map that could help guide them to the artifact, but the pieces have been scattered all over. Thus a new "hunt" is on to find that artifact, lost somewhere in the Endless Ocean.
Escordvi is a panfandom semi-private game that primarily uses invitations to join but with occasional public app cycles. It is a quest based exploration game with focus on finding and exploring new places and CR building. Despite the existence of factions, it is not a competitive factions game."

Whether characters came from their homes or somewhere else, characters now find themselves in a strange sea of stars littered with floating islands. Kenos is one of the last vestiges of a dying universe, and whether through purpose or simply chance, your character’s soul has been plucked from a crumbling world and brought here.
We have a monthly AC of 10 comments across two threads, with rewards for bonus AC. There's currently a 32/45 player cap, and franchises are further capped at 5 characters. Our January TDM is still going strong and apps/reserves are always open.

[game info]: Neon Requiem is a synthwave neo-noir panfandom roleplay with elements of paranormal horror, mystery, and tongue-in-cheek humor. Characters find themselves in Limbo, the realm between life and death, uncertain whether or not they have died. It’s promised that Niesha, Lady of the Dead, will sort out the mess and send you all on your way… eventually. In the meantime, characters are free to create a life in the mysterious city of Requiem, to pursue their interests, and to seek out bonds with others to generate “anima,” the life force that keeps Souls intact until they can pass on.
Just watch out for the monsters. And the crime. And the ghostly phenomena. And pay no attention to the rumors about scandal, corruption, or dysfunction in the mayor’s office. Sit back, relax, and you’ll be on your way back to life/afterlife in no time!
The game has monthly events, bi-monthly TDMs (the next is later this month), monthly apps, and relaxed check-in AC. While it is invite-only, current players get 1 invite per month. Characters are not de-powered (unless they have something game-breaking) and in the case of Destiny, Guardians can have their Ghosts with them. We just got done with a monster transformation event in February that swept the city, with some characters reeling and others trying to get to the bottom of it.
It'd be great to get another castmate or two before the next expansion releases. All our current cast are from different canon points - with Osiris being from the earliest point (still having his Light) and Mara recently updated to current season, and more chaos into that mix is welcome.

Characters arrive in Expiation accused of a crime (either of the player's choosing or assigned by the mods) and are told to await their sentencing without further explanation. They can explore the world to discover its past and secrets, as well as influence the way it develops onwards, while trying to figure out the reason behind their arrival there.
Applications are bi-monthly and will open on April 23rd while the reserves will open on April 20th; the new TDM will go live on April 8th! There's a player cap that is currently sitting at 44/70. The AC requirements are 15 comments a month across 2-3 threads.

We have a large player focused event happening this month! Think of them as being the dungeons in Persona games that players can sign up to create. It comes with a boss fight that other players can sign up to participate in as well, though there's a free-for-all 'mini-boss' that anyone can fight too. But outside of those, there are regular instances of in-character exploration/combat that's available to the players. These have the effect of both expanding explorable areas in game and possibly stumbling across metaplot relevant events.
Don't want to be a mahou? You're free to play mundane characters too! There's usually something for everyone to do, both in and out of the Dream Sphere.
BD is a slow to medium paced game. A/C is ten comments across two threads but the A/C is done automatically, no check-in or self-reporting required. Apps open the last week of the month! The monthly AU plotting post is up and a TDM will be posted a little later. Keep an eye out for it in the OOC comm!

[game info]: Duplicity is a smut game set in a city of the sama name in which characters are branded as either submissive or dominant and must act according to their role, forming contracts between the two designations. As far as our cast goes, Idia is the lone dominant and he has his hands full dealing with his schoolmates. Naturally, all of them are being as emotionally maladjusted as you'd expect. Idia runs a catboy/catgirl café that all the others work at in varying capacities, so come laugh at them in their ridiculous uniforms!
