March EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. They'll get one warning for copy-paste ads, and if they spam anymore copy-paste ads after the warning, they'll be banned from the meme. MOD CONTACT: If there's trouble, tell me HERE, please! Various animated canons, video game canons, and OC's
Arpad Kovacs, American Arcadia
Quick character info: Fred Rogers (the one with the Neighborhood) and Bill Nye (the Science Guy) did a fusion dance and became a foxy Hungarian scientist/beloved children's edutainer. (Not LITERALLY, but that's two of the real people he's based on/inspired by, out-of-universe.) Was best buds with "Walt Disney but with glasses instead of racism", worked at his world's equivalent of Disney (maybe? Wall-E still exists so Disney might still exist as a competitor? it's all very unclear) as host for a children's edutainment show until they wanted to use his inventions to brainwash people and he refused and got dismissed from the company. Then completely dragged them in his autobiography.
John Clayton (Tarzan's Dad), Tarzan (1999) (still setting up journal)
Quick character info: Victorian English gentleman that got stranded in the African jungle with his wife and infant son. Built a totally rad treehouse, then (along with his wife) got killed and possibly eaten by a leopard, leaving his orphaned son to be raised by gorillas.
Dr. Harvey, Stardew Valley (tentative, still setting up journal)
Quick character info: Sweet, wholesome, "boring" (so-called) small-town doctor.
SCP-662-1/Mr. Deeds, SCP Foundation
Quick character info: Magic Victorian butler that is summoned by a bell. He can off-screen teleport and come back from the dead, basically think of him as like a genie (with the bell as his lamp) but not nearly as powerful.
Alfred Pennyworth, The Batman (tentative, rusty)
Quick character info: Butler and father figure to orphaned billionaire playboy/costumed vigilante.
Indigo, Starbound (OC/Malleable Protagonist)
Quick character info: Alien living on Earth and training to be a member of the Space UN/Federation/etc, Earth got destroyed by a planet-sized eldritch horror called the Ruin, leaving her as the only survivor. Wandered the galaxy(/universe?) looking for artifacts to open the Ruin's cage so it could be destroyed, did so and destroyed it at the cost of her own life, got resurrected.
Chroma ???, Original Character (I don't have a last name for her yet)
Quick character info: Rich girl from the spacefaring-but-no-FTL future, humans are put into hypersleep/cold sleep/hibernation/etc for long voyages and are given VR worlds to keep their brains busy as a way to prevent certain side-effects of hypersleep, rich people got nice VR worlds and poor people got shitty VR worlds as an easy, consequence-free way of running "social experiments". She tried to hack the system but got caught, and now has to live in the shitty VR worlds with the poor people. Also she doesn't forget each iteration of the shitty VR world like she's supposed to, so she's been "living" in various shitty VR worlds for hundreds if not more years and remembers all of it.
Aria Spiegel, Original Character
Quick character info: Rich girl from a cyberpunk-ish world, died in an accident as a teen, had her memories and personality uploaded into an android that shared her appearance. Android was happy living with her parents until they died of old age, has now outlived her original purpose and isn't sure what to do now.

Looking for primarily meme buddies or just "hey I have an idea for a thread" without necessarily connecting them, PSL's are good too, feel free to invite me to games if you want but no invite-only, no AU, no horror, and the game must be minor/side character and OC-friendly cuz that's what's I play.
LOVE me some cross-canon, prefer it to castmates most of the time even, most of my canons are so obscure that I wouldn't expect to find castmates anyway. The more obscure the better, or at least don't expect me to know anything about your popular canon. Animated/drawn/video games/etc preferred to live-action. (Not that live-action is 100% no-go, I just prefer others more.)
For "how are our cross-canon characters meeting", I prefer fake/assumed jamjar over "AU-ing one character into the other's canon" most of the time. AU's aren't completely off the menu, let's just discuss first.
Good with both gen and shipping! All of my characters are adults. I ship M/F and F/F, if there are any exceptions to this I will name them. Unless I know you/your character well, would prefer to develop relationship, maybe even develop organically, rather than jump in head-first with "hey our characters are lovers now" assumed CR, unless that's part of the plot like it's fake memories or something. Or maybe if it's a shipping/smut meme, idk. Eventual smut is fine too, I prefer fluffy-type stuff, not into hardcore kinky stuff.
I love things like exploring (I have entire folders full of scenery images for inspiration for stuff like this), adventuring, solving escape rooms/puzzles/mysteries/etc, scenarios that give our characters some kind of goal to aim for, things like that, but SOL is fine too. As far as tone goes, things like darkness and angst should be the exception not the rule, I like to keep things more positive and light most of the time; also not into the whole "sex, drugs, and rock'n'roll" type stuff (tfln, etc); it's fine if your character is the party animal type though.
But uhhhh yeah just throw some tropes/ideas at me or link to a meme/etc and we can do/put together something. Brackets and prose also both fine! (Just no super-complicated formatting that's hard to read please)

I know it's a long shot, a very long shot, but... I would love an Elijah Walton, either for best buddies shenanigans (yes, yes, Arpad is described as Elijah's "right-hand man", not his "best friend", but you can't convince me they weren't best buddies with great chemistry off-camera) or possible shipping purposes!
I even have username suggestions if you want, PM for them so people don't steal and squatGen fine, shipping fine. Since he looks exactly the same in the 50s/60s AND the 90s, I have no choice but to assume he went white super early, and is actually a young man with white hair in the 50s/60s. So I can play him as a young man with white hair, or his older more traditional silver fox self, if you have any preference. Age gap also fine as long as everyone's a mature adult.
John:
Gen is fine, but he's an "I'm happily married, I love my wife, I'm loyal to my wife, let me tell you about my wife" kind of guy, so he'd only be available for shipping in AU's where he's single (or maybe widowed? idk), or your character is AU'd to be his wife. (I really doubt his actual wife is floating around DWRP but hey feel free to prove me wrong ♥)
Otherwise would love to toss him into modern jamjar scenarios to make Mr. Victorian Gentleman adapt to modern technology/society.
Deeds:
Look, he's got intro, etc, built right in with his bell. So yeah, your character obtaining his bell. Gen and shipping both fine, pooooossible consent issues with him because of his submissive nature, but I'm willing to not think about it too hard if you are.
Alfred:
Unless his specific version of Bruce or other canonmates are floating around (though I do usually take him pre-Batgirl/pre-Robin/etc, yes Batgirl came before Robin in this universe, blame the Bat-Embargo), I'd prefer cross-canon with him, less stressful cuz less stuff I'm expected to know, look DC is a huge canon/universe/multiverse okay. Again, gen and shipping both fine.
Indigo, Chroma, Aria:
Would love someone to play with to help me develop them more. Gen and shipping are both fine!
