ENABLEMEPLZ meme goes up on the Second Saturday of every month FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. ⭒ CLOUD: There's always so much I want to explore with these two, it isn't even funny. I really like AUs/fix-its where Nibelheim never happened, and Cloud and Sephiroth are either friends or lovers. Which isn't to say I'm not still down for that happening, mind, because it hurts even worse when they're close. Alternatively, Hojo getting his hands on Cloud because of his proximity to Sephiroth, and Sephiroth reigning hell down on Hojo/Shinra to get him back. I also like exploring the idea of them being bound together across worlds and universes, as well as how they navigate it. Poor Cloud can't even get a Smash Bros invite without Sephiroth tailing him. Spoilers for Rebirth: To be honest, I feel a little vindicated, because Sephiroth traveling alternate/parallel worlds and ripping them apart to get to Cloud has been A Thing Of Mine for a while. Now that Rebirth has given a big nod in this direction, I'm really excited to explore this idea more. I like the idea of a Sephiroth that has lost the Cloud in his world, and he's so consumed with the idea of getting him back that he starts time traveling/world hopping to steal the Cloud from that universe (or at least stop him from dying). This could go in a lot of different directions. I think I'd probably prefer shipping for a lot of these, but it's not mandatory. If shipping these two interests you, I really enjoy both the fluff side and the toxic/dubious side of things. Erotic stabbing is also always A+ if you feel like indulging me lmao. However, if you are interested in the toxic side of this ship, I'd like to set some ground work so that I'm not accidentally pushing boundaries. I'm not super interested in puppet!Cloud, because I tend to like this ship most when they're equal and Cloud's not afraid to whoop Sephiroth's ass, but I don't mind playing around with it in moderation.


⭒ AERITH: I dearly want to play with more Aeriths in any capacity! But in terms of more specific ideas, something I've really wanted to play out for a while is the idea of Sephiroth and Aerith meeting in the Shinra labs as kids and becoming friends. I'm especially partial to the idea of them escaping with Ifalna and growing up in Sector 5 together, but I'm definitely open to any variations on this idea. Spoilers for Rebirth: Rebirth also has me really digging this idea of Sephiroth chasing Aerith across worlds, because man, that scene in the dream/church was (chef's kiss). I'm also digging the idea of Aerith finding a world where Sephiroth is still himself, or that Sephiroth merging into the Remake/Rebirth world, and seeing where it goes. I'm really invested in exploring the idea of them being two sides of the same coin, but I also really just would like the chance to explore them more in general. They're both such important characters to the story, but they don't actually get to interact with each other very much. Shipping loved but definitely not necessary. If you're interested in shipping, I enjoy both fluff and an enemies to lovers or an unreciprocated infatuation flavor for these two.


⭒ ZACK: I've never had a proper chance to play out this ship, but I would dearly love to. Sephiroth obviously has a soft spot for Zack that's a mile wide, and I feel like they compliment each other well. Give me slowly realizing they have feelings for each other, give me Gold Saucer dates, give me everything. Spoilers for Rebirth: I also didn't get the interaction between them in Rebirth that I wanted lmao. I would love some proper Rebirth angst, or at least some interaction beyond Sephiroth simply brushing him off. (Also, OT3s with Aerith or Cloud are always a yes.)


⭒ ZENOS YAE GALVUS: I'm still working through Endwalker and familiarizing myself with FFXIV's universe, but I'm in the market for a Zenos to have a mutually obsessive enemies-to-lovers PSL with. I am also tentatively willing to play Zenos if you have a Sephiroth or any other XIV character, because boy do I definitely want to give writing Zenos a try, but I'm going to need a lot of voicetesting and patience. I'd like to AU Sephiroth into the XIV universe, but I'm all aboard for Zenos coming to the FFVII universe or them meeting in the middle somewhere a la Dissidia.


⭒ FFVII CASTMATES IN GENERAL: Spoilers for Rebirth: I'm greedy, and the idea of infinite worlds merging/diverging is just really good food. Right now, the idea of a sane Sephiroth merging into the canon world is living rent-free in my head. I'll take all of the messiness, all of the angst, all of the fluff, all of the everything. I honestly just want an excuse to RP with the main cast and the Turks/Rufus without having to be ~evil~ all the time, because I just (clenches fist) love this game and everyone in it so much.

⭒ AUs of any kind are my bread and butter, whether they be in-universe or not. Soulmates, hanahaki curse, and arranged marriage are always a yes from me.
⭒ Enemies-to-lovers is an absolute favorite trope of mine.
⭒ I love to write fight scenes, but it's okay if they're not your cup of tea.
⭒ Texting/TFLN is also a favorite of mine since it's low-effort while still letting us character/story build.
⭒ I'm embarassingly bad at writing smut so I tend to either FTB or try desperately to cover it up with flowery language, but I'll definitely give it a try if our threads start getting spicy! I need build-up though; I don't like jumping straight into smut.

⭒ Memes and PSLs are both excellent. As much as I would like to join a game, I'm currently unable. I'm craving continuity and an overarching story. However, I also get really excited about ideas and world-building, and I'm fine with just throwing eighty ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks. I'll never say no to one-shots.

⭒ My writing style leans heavily into introspection and waxing poetic. While introspection is always loved in return, please don't feel obligated to match my tag lengths or w/e. I'm just a pretentious bastard; even when I try to write short tags, I end up talking too much. (gestures to the text walls above)

⭒ I'm also a slow but steady tagger with an MST timezone. I'll usually try and deliver at least one tag a day on bigger threads, and usually more on smaller/easier ones like TFLN/texting. Depending on IRL circumstances, sometimes I end up giving less or getting quiet for a few days, but I will backtag to the moon and back. I completely understand if that's not your cup of tea and you end up deciding to drop a thread. No hard feelings whatsoever.

sliiiiiiiiiiides on in here in part because I wanted to say thank you for hitting up my top-level on the extremely goofy kissing booth meme, but also because I absolutely love infinite worlds/multiverse bullshit and the variety of things you can do with it — case in point: who better to recruit for hunting down Out Of Hand™ Sephiroth than his sane counterpart from another universe? How serendipitous! And yes, I was there in the Olden Days. A friend of mine and I actually ran a post-AC game on livejournal. Man, though, I've just been feeling so nostalgic about FFVII since Rebirth came out. I rewatched Advent Children recently, and Tifa was always my best girl, so I figured I would give her another try.

I also definitely understand how RP can sour ships, so no pressure on that front. They could always go from enemies to begrudging allies (with the grudge being mainly on Tifa's part because we know, realistically, that Sephiroth is OP enough to be calling the shots in most cases), then see how things develop from there. :)

I'm also fine with meme or PSL situations. I tend to go with the flow of whatever is easiest for my writing partner.

Honestly, I really enjoy seeing and learning about peoples' WoLs, and it's something I'm for sure interested in down the road. I don't think I'm quite there with Zenos yet, though. There are a lot of variables with WoLs, and I'd like to get more confident with him first.

I'm admittedly still getting through Rebirth (I'm like, basically finishing Chapter 9) so I'm still working on that in regards to spoilers (but I still assume the main beats are there and have my suspicions on where Rebirth will end.) But I do agree it would be nice for Aerith and Sephiroth for them to get more cr/more time together? And honestly, I know the novel that covered her backstory didn't go into her having met Sephiroth in the labs and all but like. I still feel like that sort of thing could work?? Two kids finding each other and all among all the adults around etc.

I somehow had never really considered them in terms of shipping but probably because they barely get any scenes together in the original game that I was way more interested in her with Zack or Cloud (I have played through the original Crisis Core, just not yet finished Reunion but idk if that changed much beyond what I am seeing as the obvious in the end???)

I am also about to go on a trip tomorrow but I will be back Saturday night. So if I don't respond for a bit, that's why!

They would totally count as contrasting couples, for sure. I'm not completely against the idea, it just isn't a ship I had necessarily considered I guess. But you are right that there could potentially be something there if they had been given some time together in the games beyond the obvious one particular scene.
