[game]:Pluviosa | setting/session 0 [fandom]: Scum Villain's Self-Saving System [game's current cast]: Shang Qinghua [who I play]: Shang Qinghua [wanted]: Anyone! Though, uh, Mobei-Jun would be a bit fraught, because SQH has found a boyfriend who is not his king. Shan Yuan, Shen Qingqiu, Shen Jiu, or Liu Qingge would all be hilarious, though. Or like. Sha Hualing. That would be a disaster. A delightful one. [game info]:
Gonna copy off "John Doe" here (<3), but before that: Do you want to punch a plant? Do you want a plant to punch you? Do you want to have extremely large earthworms try to climb up your legs? Do you want to eat chili made with ground beef that is somehow grown in some kind of tomato? Do you want to argue with a centuries-old AI that you can't tell if it doesn't understand you or if being obstructive on purpose? Do you want to be like, super fucking haunted? Do you want to join a fight club on the upper deck? Come to the normal boat, where we have completely normal boat things, like spatial compression that causes migraines, Magical Mystery Language insinuated into your head for reasons the boat claims to be unaware of, fish of unclear provenance, and bog bodies!
More formal ad I copied from John follows:
A once-grand ship runs across an endless desert, bearing within it precious, dangerous cargo: all the life in the world, and all the souls of its dead.
Pluviosa is a horror game set on a long-abandoned cruise ship - although it's not exactly accurate to call it abandoned when it's full Life After Humans going on inside. Subthemes include body horror/corruption, psychological horror, mystery, exploration, in-universe unreality, and atmospheric horror; the tone is Nausicaa aesthetic meets Jurassic Park with a little bit of Locked Tomb for spice. Characters wake up on a strange ship full of unnaturally vibrant vegetation, decrepit mechanisms, and ghosts, and must assemble information to eventually solve the mysteries behind the ship and put these ghosts to rest if they are to have any hope of returning home.
Currently, apps are perma-open! Until we hit cap (40). Additionally, Activity Check is suspended but it's a typical 10+ comments whenever that changes; we do have Discord integration (text) which counts for AC, as well. Events are variable length, every month or so. Player plots and setting exploration are encouraged!
