November EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / kink you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no fonts and other html that make ads super long, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canon in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ There is a "Pairings You Want to Play" section, where you can ask for castmates or crosscanon you'd like to ship with. Please format this with "[YOUR CANON] seeking [CASTMATE/OTHER CANON (if crosscanon)/SEE DESCRIPTION (if a general character type)]. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Pairings You Want to Play" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. Alongside castmates and crosscanon, you can choose to ask for OCs or general character types as well. Try not to get too wordy and please don't outline entire scenarios. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. Sorry Kuu, lifting this wholesale from your ad because you wrote it much better than I ever could rstdcycibIt's a fairly freeform game, but players have a lot of agency within it and open opportunities to engage with the background plot regarding the history of Dreamers and other M Y S T E R I E S that surround the Dream Sphere itself. Dreamers are free to explore the Dream Sphere via excursions which unlock new areas for people to play around in or doing Torment Hunts for your monster of the week fights. Following the Anniversary Event, we can now submit bonus points to rebuild the hub area of the Dream Sphere!
Don't want to be a mahou in pretty outfits? You're free to play mundane characters too! There's usually something for everyone to do, both in and out of the Dream Sphere. The game and playerbase are always happy to welcome new player run businesses to integrate into tags as fun places to hang out!
For those who want to affect the plot and set up their own dungeon area, Disturbances are available via player sign up! Read up on them here. (Note: I ran one for Hanako earlier this year and TBHK canon is SO ripe for dungeon crafting material, I highly recommend it)

But YES, I would be so, so, SO thrilled to have either boy in the game, tbh!! I think Kou could have such an interesting arc in the world of BD (like maybe his family are very well-known/famous Dreamers and Kou's sort of just developed his powers and is trying to measure up to everyone's standards), and I in general would just love to see the Toilet Trio rounded out because I love their dynamic so much ;-;
and also Hanako can have no shortage of people to troll and/or beat his ass for being a nuisance lmaoBUT ALSO... HHGHHH... I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE TSUKASA AROUND IN THE GAME TOO TAT!!! A lot of his backstory/character has already been established in BD thanks to Hanako's AU, and he also has lots of pre-baked CR solely by the fact that he's Amane's brother (like there will easily be at least three or four people who will know him automatically) so he's already got a place carved out for him upon arrival!! (The mod also said to tell you they started barking like a dog at the very prospect of a Tsukasa apping so. ANOTHER POINT IN HIS FAVOR LMAO) He'll probably have to be significantly defanged compared to canon given it's a chill magical girl game, but I think he'll still have plenty of opportunities to be his chaos gremlin self regardless!! (especially if he opts the Dreamer route, nobody is prepared for magical boy Tsukasa)
ANYWAY. TL;DR, MY ARMS ARE OPEN FOR BOTH TBHK BOYS, PLEASE BRING THEM OUR WAY

Immediately Kou is such a good fit and I'm in the same boat as you because I love the trio. They just work so well as a trio (and I just think this would be a great game to play that out in!) and it would be so much fun to develop Kou's backstory for an AU game. I had truly wanted to find a game for Kou because as much as I love Tsukasa, there's so many what ifs about him in the air so I've defaulted to Kou so much.
HOWEVER. THIS IS AN AU GAME AND WELL, DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THAT FOR TSUKASA....it also just seems like such a fun challenge to kind of already have things going on in regards to Tsukasa and working with that? Honestly, though, magical boy Tsukasa just sounds so wonderful? And maybe he cannot be as deranged as he is in canon but chaos can absolutely be wrought with him nonetheless!

But UGH YES, if anyone is suited to the Mahou Life, it's definitely Kou, he's got the optimism and the general Good Boy Energy that makes him such a perfect fit for Dreamerhood ;-; (which, of course, makes it even more hilarious that Hanako's been a Dreamer longer than he has since like... he's got NONE of that going for him but. He gets the job done so don't even worry about it!!!) I could definitely see Hanako taking Kou in as his trainee (he's already mentoring Nene too, so we'd automatically get our Toilet Trio that way), but also drawing in the ire of the other Minamotos because he was behind a Big Dangerous Incident earlier in the year and they probably don't trust him to train one of their own 8') (Not that Hanako was the first OR the last to cause such an incident in-game, but I don't think the Minamotos would care either way, sobs)
FOR TSUKASA THOUGH.... his BD story in a nutshell is that instead of dropping into a hole when he was four to heal Amane (and having an old god ride shotgun in him), he instead got lost in the Dream Sphere for a couple of weeks when he was eight after trying to protect Amane from a Nightmare and came back... kinda off because of it! (The offness was left vague so any potential Tsukasa players could play around with it lmao) Amane, of course, blames himself, thinks he tanked his brother's chances at being a Dreamer, and has been hung up on the idea of trying to set things right ever since, although.... Tsukasa probably doesn't know this because Amane??? Being candid about his feelings??? IMPOSSIBLE. I do think it'd be funny if Tsukasa had been a Dreamer all along since That Incident and just never bothered to do anything with it until now because he didn't feel like it, but it's totally up to you how you'd want to go about it with him! Other details are that their parents own a small cafe/flower shop that they help out at (and it's been a running OOC joke that Tsukasa terrorizes one of the employees there), and that Amane still has his heart condition since he never magically got cured (although he's been managing it since it's 2024 and not 1959 lmao)! So-- significantly less trauma compared to their canon lives, and probably a lot more normal relationship between them, all things considered lmao
SO ALL THAT SAID, Tsukasa is probably a lot less to work on vs Kou when it comes to building an AU from the ground-up for the game, so that can be a bonus or a drawback depending on how you look at it!! I honestly wish I could just say YOLO and bring both, but... ALAS.... WHY DID THESE BOYS HAVE TO INTERACT IN CANON....

You've built an interesting AU and it would be so much fun working Tsukasa into that? While Kou is more work, it's also a little more...free? Tsukasa has way more to work with because you've been building up Amane here and trying to see how to work Tsukasa into things is so fun! Plus isn't it great to have your little brother come in and just start causing havoc all over everything you built up? Not to mention it would just be fun to play the twins in a...normal?ish? situation LOL "normal" one might say. Tsukasa would just be so much fun.
So if you're down for it, I'd be totally down to play Tsukasa here!

I have just envisioned Tsukasa sowing his brand of chaos all over the Dream Sphere in the name of helping out, and everyone coming to the horrible realization that Hanako was actually the good (or, well... "good") twin all along HAHA-- though also while Amane would be thrilled to go exploring in the Dream Sphere with his brother now (since I'm sure they've probably talked about it a ton as kids), he's just. Gonna be low-key peeved when he realizes he needs to be in older sibling mode here now too, sobs. THIS PLACE WAS HIS ESCAPE, OKAY!!! (And CRIES..... they will never be in a fully normal situation because Tsukasa will always be the Weird Lil Dude no matter what, but!! It's as close as we can make it!!!)

Also thought about maybe Tsukasa was always a Dreamer and was like "idk Amane hates me so I just won't?" like what went down with the Red House and he was like it's fine Amane hates me so he doesn't need me lol Until something made him be like DREAMER TIME IS A GO HEYYYYY AMANE!!! And hey, Tsukasa can be there to screw with Hanako's plans and be like "lol that's not true, Amane???" Sorry, bro, but your twin knows you too well. He just steps in and tells all the embarrassing truths. And in his mind, he's totally helping because his big brother just isn't honest enough and HE'LL HELP YOU. NOT A PROBLEM. LOVE YOU, AMANE!!!!

But oh my god YES, I LOVE THIS ACTUALLY-- I figured in this AU that Amane's frustrations about being sick (the ones that he blew up to Tsukasa about prior to The Hole happening) have sort of just like... festered and concentrated over the years, since he never magically got better like he did in canon (granted, he's not on the verge of dying, but there's lots of stuff that Tsukasa can do that he still can't thanks to his health), and no doubt some of that anger and resentment bubbled up over the years in outbursts, especially during times when Tsukasa can't take a hint OTL;; So I can totally see Tsukasa assuming Amane hates him or doesn't really like him since he, uh... takes a lot of stuff for face value (and more so now that he's doing all this Dreamer stuff over the past few years), so 8') There's also been a number of Incidents over the past year in-game that could totally be Tsukasa's motivation for picking up the mantle (including Amane running away into the Dream Sphere for about three weeks to avoid a surgery, deliberately going into the Dream Sphere when everyone else was stuck knowing that he would also be stuck too
though joke's on him, he got kicked out less than a day later somehowand just... multiple instances of him waking up from Dreamer duties doing Not Well) so you totally have your pick on what his reasoning is lmaoBut also GOD.... I don't think Hanako has any overarching plans at the moment aside from engaging with the metaplot (and also trying to help Tsukasa regain what he thought was his lost Dreamerhood but. LMAO. LOOKS LIKE LIL BRO DIDN'T NEED IT ALL ALONG???), although, hilariously, up until earlier this year he had been REALLY cagey about his Dreamer identity with others and kept saying Tsukasa was Dreamer Hanako to throw people off his trail, but like. After that running away incident everyone just found out who he was anyway so he dropped it (though I'm sure Tsukasa was like. Also aware of this ruse of his and was just patiently waiting for it to blow up in his face LMAO.....) But he for sure is still repressing stuff about A Lot Of Things so Tsukasa has plenty of ammo to make his life more of a headache 8')

Plus Amane is going into teenhood which is already an emotional time. Pair that with a little brother who just won't GO AWAY...and Tsukasa being Tsukasa. Really, at some point, he is absolutely going to tell him he thinks Amane hates him and it's fine. Some of the Dreamer stuff will probably have so many Amane reasons too I am sure. He just really loves his twin and also thinks Amane could be happier and Tsukasa can help him with that he's so sure of it. In the most batshit way possible. Work in progress...
I hope Hanako just being like "...you had it...this entire time...?" is a Thing and so infuriating LOLLLL Tsukasa just like :D also he's sure that Amane didn't want him to be there anyway so it's fine. Totally fine!

I want to put a huge disclaimer on this and say I haven't played in any games in quite a while, mostly because I've struggled a lot with writing consistently in the past, so I'm being very tentative here - but I'm definitely looking at this game atm! I'm also very new to TBHK (I binged the manga just this week!) but I'm interested in playing either Sakura or Tsuchigomori most of all... I love the tbhk cast so much...

Honestly, though, I was the exact same way re: games prior to joining this one, so I 1000% get it, don't worry TuT BD thankfully has a super chill pace (the AC is bimonthly and only needs 10 comments across 2 to 3 threads for the AC period), so it is a great place to dip your toes back into the RP pool if you're interested! But also omg WELCOME ABOARD TBHK HELL..... the manga so, SO good (yet so, so devastating), and I wish it was talked about more TAT The characters and the story are just... /CHEF'S KISS....
ANYWAY. ALL THAT SAID, YES, I WOULD BE VERY INTERESTED IN THEM BOTH 👀👀👀 Sakura could be so fascinating in the game's setting imo-- there isn't a lot of darker Dreamers/Dreamers with their own agendas right now, so she would be a fun different viewpoint to play around with! (Although I also can see her as Tsukasa's tutor/senpai who is just-- constantly DONE with his antics too lmao) and TSUCHI.... god I love Spider-Dad so much and there are a good amount of adults in the game so he would fit just perfectly among them (or fit in as much as Tsuchi can anyway, sobs--) But YES, PLEASE, I WOULD BE SO HAPPY WITH EITHER OF THEM, so if you wanna test the waters, we got a workshop and TDM up at the moment if you wanna poke around and see how things are like!!

And yesssss I'm obsessed with TBHK already, I'm going to reread the manga today so I can take it all in better but I'm already attached to so many characters! (+ the setting is 1000% my kind of thing, lol)
I'm definitely especially interested in writing Sakura right now I think, in part because so much is a mystery about her in canon that I think she'd be quite hard for me to write normally, but in an AU game that's much less of a problem :P plus my friend who commented below is interested in playing Tsuchi, so it works out well.
