PROBLEMS/SUGGESTIONS

If anyone crosses the line or there's some other issue or suggestion you want to leave, comment here.

NOTE: I live in PST. On Saturdays I sometimes work day shifts or do things when I'm off, where I don't get home until a pretty reasonable time of 5-6 pm in the evening. If I don't get to the post before I go out, I will make sure I post it when I'm home. If it's a rare day I work evening shift, and don't have time to post it before my shift, the post may go up super late (in which case I don't mind people poking to make sure it's going up.)

I have a recurring entry on google calendar that sends me reminders to do the post. Guaranteeing a set day but a flexible time the post goes up will allow me to reliably post EMP basically forever, regardless of my RL situation. As such, I will no longer be answering "will the post go up?" questions unless it's past 10 PM EST. After that, I'll let people know what's up if I'm running late. (Or act on the reminder if I forgot).

Comments screened.

Wanted to drop in a heads-up for you that it looks like a notorious bakerstreet ban-evader is trying to solicit threads on this comm again

https://enablemeplz.dreamwidth.org/15242.html?thread=4384650#cmt4384650

As this journal is newly-created there isn't any wank attached to this specific username, but there's strong evidence that the player behind this journal is the same person that has created new journals multiple times to evade (multiple) bans at bakerstreet and continue harassing players within the fandom with rude ooc conduct and bizarre PMs and generally unpleasant behavior

- this player is ESL
- this player has a pref for m/m only
- this player's go-to for new journals to ban evade appear to be characters from bungou stray dogs
- this player has put up ads on emp in the past similarly specifying no threads on bakerstreet

One or two of these similarities by themselves wouldn't be enough to warrant concern, but combined together there's a pretty high chance it's the same person. The last point especially is one of note; honestly I can't imagine anyone would have to actually state they don't want to be on bakerstreet unless they were actually banned from bakerstreet, on top of the fact that this is a pref the player has been known to state in the past after being freshly banned from the comm.

Below is a report thread on bakerstreet containing links to additional details on this player's past journals/behavior:
https://bakerstreetmods.dreamwidth.org/438.html?thread=110774#cmt110774

It appears that the bakerstreet mods are privy to additional details (pastebins, PM transcripts, etc) concerning this player that you could probably request from them too, if further information is needed.

And at the end of the day this still remains up to your discretion. But a warning seemed warranted, and at the very least it might be a good idea to keep an eye on this thread and/or journal going forward if you don't believe these factors are enough to warrant a journal ban just yet. If this really is the same player, then this isn't a person you'd want posting ads to pull in bites from unsuspecting rpers who only want psl threads but end up getting ooc harassment instead.

Oh no, yeah, I linked to the bakerstreet report post where the mods there have conducted correspondence wrt problems with that player thus far specifically because it would have been redundant to post a bunch of wankgate links together, and there's verification you can have from the bakerstreet mods that you wouldn't get from anon threads anyhow, though many details are indeed also contained in the anon threads. Due to the harassing nature of the problem player, pastebins and similar records with names attached were given to the bakerstreet mods through private message venues so that the player(s) submitting them wouldn't be further targeted by the harasser. Since it seems like you've already sent PMs in that direction, I won't try to link you anything that the bakerstreet mods likely already have at this time.

Unfortunately, due to the fact that this player has a pattern of putting together brand new journals in order to evade their bans on bakerstreet and continue to tag the players they've harassed, there's no muselist to link to you either because it wouldn't be in that player's interest to keep a public record of the journals they hide behind. However, the bakerstreet mods likely have a comprehensive list of all their previous journals, and this rash of ban evasions has occurred in the last two months or so, with the most recent ban having happened about a week ago.

As I also stated earlier, one or two similar prefs wouldn't be enough to warrant concern normally, but considering how similar pref-wise this ad is to previous ads that this harassing player has definitively posted on emp in the past, it felt sufficient to at least drop you a warning about another potential journal of theirs appearing on your comm. The previously-posting journals in question were

The previously-posting journals in question were <username=pawer> and <user name=snowpiercer>; both of these have been banned from bakerstreet and pawer has been banned from rpanons (at the bottom of this thread: https://rpanons.dreamwidth.org/76870.html?thread=238618182#cmt238618182) after the mods of those respective comms reviewed the deets that the bakerstreet mods are currently privy to. Here's links to their previous ads on this comm:

https://enablemeplz.dreamwidth.org/14147.html?thread=4117571#cmt4117571

Considering the newness of this journal and the sparsity of info concerning who the player behind it is, regardless of the similar preferences, I still wouldn't blame you for not banning the journal at this time; that'd be perfectly understandable. Since the problem player has posted here before, though, it felt best to give you a heads-up and some venues to the relevant information wrt the bakerstreet mods, so that you'll be able to take action more easily if this player is definitively confirmed to show up here in the future.

Honestly, sorry for the hassle. But thank you for taking the time to look into this, either way.

Whoops, sorry, the link to the rpanons mod ban should be at the bottom of this thread:

https://rpanons.dreamwidth.org/76870.html?thread=238414918#cmt238414918

Linked you one of the subthreads instead, I think. Sorry for spamming your inbox like this, I'll be taking my leave now.
