Although arguably one of the few mundane plot ideas I have is that Tohru gets fired from her job despite needing it to pay for high school tuition fees, keeping the issue to herself and desperately looking for a new place and working herself to the bone over struggling to do so until even Kyo starts thinking something's up, or he figures it out because of some snide observant remark Yuki makes towards him about not noticing X or Y.
