Caveat that I'm a scrub who knows nothing about DC, but allow me to wave vigorously in the direction of Fade Rift because we definitely hit the plot and backtag requirements.
It's a game set in the dragon age universe (high-ish fantasy), but no canon familiarity is required. Characters can be AU'd in, or arrive directly from their own canon by more or less falling out of the sky. So if you've ever really dreamed of playing chicken little, here's your shot.
There's an overarching modplot to Save the World, and smaller missions (both mod and player-run) to help get us there/get that sweet sweet CR going. The world is pretty malleable, and character actions directly influence the setting, so even when there is downtime there's always something to do in it.
We're only open for Rifter (sky falling dudes) apps every other month, and the next round of those is November 1-5. If it sounds like your thing, we'd love to see you on the test drive! Good luck finding a game.
