and god! i didn't see your edit before i responded but dude, batlantern is one of my favorite ships. you've basically described exactly why i love them as well, they just sort of end up in each other's orbit and fixate on each other in a way they can't help. hal has a strange way of making bruce like... a bit more human? because suddenly bruce gets so annoyed by hal that he's petty and impulsive just to get under hal's skin as much as hal gets under his. they're so attached to one another in the best way. :')
