November EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted. FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. XMCU & 616 MUTANTS @ DEERINGTON
[fandom]: X-Men Cinematic Universe + Marvel 616
[game's current cast]: The XMCU cast includes Cable, Kayla Silverfox, Laura, Logan, Magneto, and Wade Wilson! 616 currently has Northstar of X-Men and Alpha Flight fame.
[who I play]: Logan!
[wanted]: For the XMCU, the cast from the original trilogy would be superb, especially Charles Xavier for our Erik and Logan and members of the X-Force (Domino, Weasel, Dopinder, Russell, Colossus + honorary mentions for Blind Al, Yukio and Negasonic Teenage Warhead!) for Cable and Deadpool. Logan would be especially stoked to see any mutants from the Days of Future Past era (i.e. Storm, Shadowcat, Iceman, Rogue, Bishop, Blink, Sunspot, Warpath, etc.), but getting any castmates from before the war would also be absolutely wonderful. Special mention for Team X (Sabretooth, Wraith, Zero, Blob, Bradley, etc.) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine's Gambit, always.
Regarding 616, an Aurora for our Northstar would be amazing. Jean-Paul's been missing her a lot lately! (And will, of course, worry about her if she does come in, which is what he deserves.) Hope Summers for our Cable would also be great, even if their universes/timelines are different. I'm sure the two of them being so used to sliding through time would mean that it'd be easy to swallow, anyway. :|
[game info]: So! Deerington is a horror dreamscape, which means some pretty unbelievable and horrible shit happens on the regular. It's got a solid plot that moves forward every month which characters can easily be a part of, and is generally the kind of game where you can control how much or how little you want them to be involved. The "horror" thing is no joke-- there's always the threat of pain and death (but you get to choose if your character will die, of course!) in basically every event, even the ones that might look pretty on the outside. So while slice of life is VERY possible-- and in fact November is more or less a month for being able to indulge in some of that slice of life after October being so hectic and murdery and bloody-- you should probably prepare for at least a little monster fighting or having to face your inner demons. Horror doesn't discriminate between physical and mental, here. People are, of course, SUPER considerate of content and trigger warnings, so if there's any kind of horror you're not comfortable doing, you can just as easily opt-out and no-one will think less of you for it.
AC is points-based, with 20 points required per month. Log tags are 3 points each and network tags are 1 point each, so it's not too bad to keep up with! And even if you end up apping as someone without castmates, the crosscanon here is amazing; in fact most of Logan's significant CR come from different canons.
Re: shenanigans, Logan and Erik's main goal is still helping any powered people that require their help. Logan in particular is interested in teaching self-defence to anyone that might need it. Coming from an apocalyptic future, I'd say they understand more than anything the importance of keeping people alive to return to their worlds.
Also Erik is spreading the mutant agenda, but when is he not?Cable recently got a scare with the techno-organic virus in his body and also almost died in a forest because of anger issues, so it'd be nice to have people there to support him. He's also been missing his family quite a bit. Aaaaand with missing families, Jean-Paul's been missing Jeanne-Marie terribly and even cruelly received a plush doll of her this month to remind him of it. :( Otherwise he's been the asshole we all know and love.Overall it's an awesome game with a lot of opportunities to affect the setting AND the people in it! Tagging pace varies depending on who you tag (sorry that's so vague), but there're definitely a handful of people who boomerang. All the players are chill with slower tags, though, so there's no need to worry about being too fast or too slow. Even if you play from a different canon, we'd love to see you there!!
