January EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted. FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. AAAANYWAY regarding your top thing and since planning is probably good. I can't promise you much negative CR--Sanosuke actually likes Misao, she can both give and take a lot of shit and she has attitude. ;) He'll still tease her forever, of course.
Alas that you are not shippy because I confess they're one of my favorite non-canon ships and it might have been interesting to take them in a somewhat messy "The world is fucked and nothing is good and we can't trust anyone else so we might as well" direction. If that appeals to you let me know, but if not I don't mind at all keeping them gen. =) (though I too ship Misao/Aoshi and please don't ask how much terrible fanfic I wrote about them when I was younger). Regardless is there anything you'd particularly like to explore with the thread? Or shall we just throw terrible things at them? ;)
And lastly apologies if the voice is rusty, I honestly haven't played him for...ugh, five years...? Something like that. Having a blast though so <3 <3 <3 back at you!

I'm down with positive CR where Misao and Sano just give each other tons of shit. It's always fun. Misao is actually pretty cool with Sano herself, except for the weasel girl thing. He's strong, he's funny, and he's a pretty stand up dude. Plus he's a devoted friend, and that's something she can really respect.
Hilariously, I'm not super shippy, but a messed up co-dependent "you're all I've got left in this world" Sano/Misao is like... everything I love. Misao is at her best when her relationships teeter on the line between "sweet" and "creepy" IMO, and I feel like that's that thread in a nutshell. So if you're down for it, I'm down for it!
...also, uh. I still write Aoshi/Misao fic. I really need to get back to writing the one where Aoshi gets sent back in time, but the Sano-Anji fight from Aoshi's POV is some rough business.
I don't have anything specific I'd like to see. Maybe they can eke out an existence at the house they just discovered? It'd suck if that poor couple was basically making it: they had a little garden, they had some chickens, they had a deep well... And then a pack of fuckwits found them. Of course, if they're going to stay there long term, they need traps.
OTOH, there's always an opportunity for more terrible! I can see not wanting to stay there, even if it is livable, after what happened to the previous owners.
Hm, I think cannibals is the only trope we haven't done yet...

I am SO down for that yes please. Sano frankly would bend towards protective regardless because he's got those instincts; he can wander on his own but he's much happier (even in this) with a pack. Plus she's the only one left that he knows us, and in a weird indirect way he owes it to Kenshin to help her, plus he's practical and knows he can trust her not to stab him in the back.
And she is cute. Shorter and skinnier and more bony than his type, but cute. If he ever sees her with her hair down that'll give him a surprise nosebleed.That plan works as a start! We can make things worse later as needed. ;) Sano has no problem living in a dead couple's house even if he does insist on burying them. I will ask that we go easy on baby/child-death though. Fine (and absolutely legit) to have included it but if we can avoid it in the future that'd be good. That one I have some trouble with. (cannibalism is fine but Sano draws the line there, despite being a guy who gnaw on fishbones for fun he still has some standards) (I thought of bringing in drugs one way or another, but realistically they'd be in the city)
Sano-Anji fight from Aoshi's POV is something I desperately want to read, pretty please link me up? I frikking love that fight, Anji is high up on my "Noooo I want more of that character!" list.
Misao's voice feels accurate to me given what she's gone through! Sano's disillusioned, but he's been disillusioned before, his world got smashed back when the Captain died. Misao was still pretty naive, and then Aoshi nearly killed Okina, Kenshin swore to bring him back but instead everyone died...yeaaaaaah she's not gonna be in a happy place.

It doesn't hurt that Sano is all she has left in the world. She tries to remember the Aoi-ya as it used to be, not as it ended, and with Aoshi-sama completely gone... He makes her feel better. That's enough.Misao is generally not very sentimental, especially about people she doesn't know. (Look, I'm just happy that she was ever psychologically/emotionally normal enough to form attachments outside the Oniwabanshuu at all, okay. The way Aoshi, Okina, and Han'nya think and behave -- and the general detachment/disinterest we see from the Kyoto Oniwabanshuu -- suggests that she's kind of unusual for it.) So she won't have a problem with that. And I'm so sorry for springing elements of infanticide on you!! I should have thought that through better or at least asked! We can certainly avoid them in the future.
I don't much expect Misao or Sano to start eating people, but, hey, if we poke them to get off the little farm, they could encounter some cannibals. I agree that drugs are probably more urban, but so is access to doctors, probably. So if one of them got sick, or was injured... It could happen.
Haha, as for the Sano-Anji fight, I'm still writing it and having a tough freaking time. Aoshi himself has SO MUCH going on that I'm worried about not doing it justice. Good news is I'm considering having Anji stay in the Aoi-ya post-Shishio arc for a while. The fic itself is up here.
