February EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. [game info]: Imagine a world where any/all emotions you feel affect your surroundings, with the stronger the emotions, the bigger the effect. That's basically the setting in a nutshell. The game is fairly active with lots of plot to get involved in... or not if that's not your thing. Really, if you want to just sit and channel your happiness to make flowers grow that's cool too, and most the Fate/ cast thrives on backtagging so no worries if you're a slow tagger! Either way, the possibilities are nigh-endless, there's a decent-sized cast already but always room for more, and minimal (if any) power nerfing for most characters.
With that said, please note if you're an FGO apper, the game's app rules mean that only canon points that have been released in the English version are allowed. Currently that means the most recent appable point is Solomon. But anything within that limit is definitely fair game, and test driving characters that aren't appable yet is perfectly fine too. Also please note that while currently the Fate/ cast is primarily from FGO, you do not by any means need to feel obligated to app those versions. Go ahead, bring us some alternate timeline shenanigans!
Anyway, the next app round is March 1-4, and for all the fun in-depth info there's the main navigation to all the things, and should you want to take a quick dip before diving in to see if it's your thing, there's always the current test drive!

Player Plots/Overarching Meta plot with slice of life
The Wake is where characters 'wake up' in a nexus sorry Doctors no time sight here and need to learn how to survive/coop with this new way of life. The main point of this game is character growth. Characters are encouraged to learn and grow beyond canon in however which why they might based on the in-game influencing factors.
Powers are able to regain abilities but not game breaking powers; example time sight. However, characters are also allowed to learn abilities they never had in canon. For instance; shapeshifting. When characters Ascend; aka the character growth, those characters are able to learn higher abilities, like being able to Fly or Teleport. As well as being able to travel to other worlds and fixing flaws (A Player Plot)
The story of the game itself is that there was a war with god like beings, one of those god-like beings in secret became the game setting (Nautilus) and therefore Nautilus is an actual living being that is conscious but don't worry most of the time Nautilus are like the majority of the Time Lords and doesn't interfere.
Activity check is relatively relaxed, and put simply it is two pieces of the following;

Our AC is a completely automated system - all you have to do is tag - with non-compulsory AC available for IC rewards! Our current app round closes at 11:59pm EST on February 28th, so there's still time to get an app in if you like!

Here! But basically, Empatheias is a game about people getting stuck on a previously floating island. Characters are able to shape the environment based on their emotions, and more often than not, their emotions become tangible to the point that it's considered magic. The game is a mix of fantasy-adventure and SOL.

SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE @ populationyou

[wanted]: I would sell my firstborn for a Miles or Gwen, especially Miles, but any of the other spider squad would still be loved.
[game info]: A horror game set in Silent Hill, a foggy Maine hell-town where the characters have to deal with the foggy landscape occasionally changing to a rust-filled, industrial, rotten mess, with angry ghosts and grotesque monsters. The town is designed to torment them with their own guilt and traumas but it's rounded out by the fact that it wants them to face their issues and let them go, so it isn't a torture-fest 24/7.
During fog times there are survival elements, with the gang having to find supplies and survive. The plot involves conspiracies, puzzles, and mysteries to solve around what made the town that way.
I would absolutely adore some spider squad characters. With Miles or Gwen especially, it'd be a good tense situation to bond in so the characters could help each other through it. Peter's in way over his head in the situation because of the genre shift and wound up the first one to die while trying to help with things, natch.

HELLSING @ DUPLICITY

[wanted]: anyone! we have potential anderson and cap tdm hits but that's it so far--in particular i think a walter or a seras would be interesting, as would be some of the millennium people: alucard is doing a lot of policing over rip in the city, and he would do the same to anyone else that showed up. the reason i'm thinking walter is because alucard is post-canon and knows every damn thing that happened from start to finish. which means there'd be a lot of strife between him and walter: old walter or vampire walter especially; young walter didn't do anything wrong yet and he'd be torn about that. ANYWAY we love anyone and everyone! come at us!
[game info]: it's a huge and fast game, which can be intimidating, but everyone i've dealt with has been super nice. that said, if you like smut games with slightly deeper plots than just 'fuck now,' there's the sub/dom system to deal with, and a burgeoning plot of rebellion against the status quo after a ton of bad shit went down to every pc in game.
also, canon-specific: alucard and rip are making a ghoul army, so that's a thing. it's pretty involved. no it's not, he's just keeping ghouls in his bathroom. don't ask. or do. also if you app schrodinger alucard will probably shoot him in the head every time he sees him because he's bitter about the whole tainted blood thing??????? but since he'd just immediately pop back up it's fine right.
FIRE EMBLEM FATES @ MELODIES OF ETERNITY

[wanted]: Royals preferred, either side, any route. Other than that, I'd be happy with whoever.
[game info]: Panfandom plot-heavy game with a focus on adventuring (though slice of life stuff does happen too). Game world is based heavily on Final Fantasy XIV (but is a unique world, with a robust Job system and the ability for players to actively shape the plot based on their actions. Very laid-back group, backtagging friendly, and relaxed AC requirements. Allows for canon characters, fandom AUs, imports from other RPs, as well as OCs, both wholly original as well as native game versions of existing canon characters. Reservations for the next app period are currently open, with the next app period to start on February 28th. No memory-loss, but there is a certain amount of power drain since characters will have to work within the game's job system, BUT the option does exist to create a custom job to replicate powers they had in their own settings, as well as the ability to regain important items ranging from weapons to vehicles, or more mundane items like articles of clothing or important mementoes.
As far as Fates go, another player is interested in apping a male Birthright version of Corrin (to be called Kamui to differentiate him from this girl) and there may be a Revelations Xander as well, as another player has expressed an interest.
SERVAMP @ DUPLICITY

[wanted]: Yumi, Jun, Mikuni, Touma or any C3 folks. Mahiru, Lawless, Wrath, any of the Eves or Servamps. Honestly anyone at all, but the named are the top wants. I think in particular a lot of characters could mesh pretty well in the setting, given the requirement for contracts. No powers are nerfed, so Servamps can retain their abilities, including transformation (which Kuro is using to mooch off of people in absence of Mahiru, old habits die hard).
[game info]: Duplicity is BIG and pretty fast in places, but there's a lot of friendly people! Kuro and Tsurugi have managed to build a lot of pretty solid cross canon CR, and the game is fairly welcoming to obscure characters in my experience. The contract system is something the Servamps and Eves could find some familiarity in and OOCly, something that's pretty fun to work with as a player. It's a game with a lot of dark content and tones, but if you're into that, it's pretty fun! Right now there's a lot of upheavel in the setting and brewing rebellion, so there's a lot to work with as far as things to do besides exploring the D/S and smut aspects.

[game info]: Daybreak is a really fun AU game in which a school is training kids and college students to prepare to fight off the end of the world. What does this have to do with Legend of Galactic Heroes? Not a damn thing, which is why I think it's a fun AU! You get to take these characters in a quasi-realistic environment and add demons, magic, castles, and a shocking lack of space content.
But! If you've seen the show/read the books/seen the old show, the Yang Fleet is basically one of the best parts. It's all about a bunch of outcasts coming together and making a found family, and learning to work together while the world falls apart around them. That kinda thing would be really fun at this game, I think, so...

Your character wakes up in Wonderland. It's a very weird pocket dimension that randomly pulls people in, puts them in this magic mansion where the closets give you anything, and every so often it goes through someone's memories and makes it into a reality warping event.
It's a pretty lax game with a metaplot you can get involved in if you want. The events here are player submitted, and you can suggest an event twice a year. Applications are open indefinitely and processed on Sundays, AC is done every two months, powers and nonhumans are allowed to come as they are (provided that those powers don't break the game)... And did I mention you have the option to create a mirror journal for an alternate version of your character that lives on the other side of the mirror?
There is a bit of memloss, but your character only loses a single word or phrase if someone from their canon causes an event, and the only way to lose a complete memory is to trade it with the vendors for an object from home.

The successor game to Tu Shanshu, Khu Ioduan is a slow-paced, original setting fantasy-centric roleplay game that focuses on both character and worldbuilding elements centered in the coastal city of Aifaran; also called The Seaglass City. Set in the world of Konryu, where everything is influenced by the three Planes of Life, Death and Dreaming, characters are drawn from their worlds to the lush archipelago surrounded by a protective barrier that keeps the chaos of the planes at bay.
While in Aifaran, they inherit and train in mystical talents, have the opportunity to navigate and rank up (or down!) with various game factions, and explore a planar-ravaged outside world to find resources and treasures, pulled through from otherworldly locations... sometimes even from characters' home worlds.
The game features has a little bit of everything - political intrigue, exploration with collaborative mission structure, slice-of-life, and lots of opportunities to grow your characters. The world of Khu Ioduan is not static - characters actions matter and can, potentially, have widespread effects. We strongly encourage characters to be involved and making changes (for good or ill) and the setting will offer many opportunities for player-run plots as well.
Other points of note: the game is slow-paced, backtag-friendly, open to OCs and CRAUs, and has a very welcoming OOC atmosphere. Come check out our current TDM!
