March EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted. FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. It's a horror game set in Silent Hill, a foggy Maine hell-town where the characters have to deal with the landscape occasionally changing to a rust-filled, industrial, rotten mess, with angry ghosts and grotesque monsters.
The game world shifts back and forth between "nightmare" events where everything goes to shit, and "daytime" events where the world is safer, but filled with fog. During fog times there are survival elements, with the gang having to find supplies and survive. During "nightmare" levels, they have to survive against monsters and solve puzzles. The plot involves conspiracies, cults, puzzles, and mysteries to solve around what made the town that way. The plot has been pretty dynamic and allowed for players to poke at things the mods didn't expect.
Other stuff:
- definitely a high pressure plot with emphasis on the town pushing people
- tends to run medium to slow, backtag friendly
- horror and survival
- we have a Marco!
Ax would be great in the setting, because of all the puzzles, and because they'd finally get to have a person on their side with a blade stuck on them. (A lot of the monsters are...slicey.) I play Dipper Pines from Gravity Falls and he'd probably follow Ax around "studying" him but also wanting to be friends because yay an alien!
Zuko'd also be great, too. The town is the kind of place that pushes people, in ways that harm them, but also in ways that help them put past traumas to rest. (There's also a lot of child abuse that went on in the town's backstory that might resonate and make Zuko want to kick some butt.) I'd especially love to toss Peter here at him. They're both a little negative and cynical sometimes, but both good people at heart.

Ax would probably work best if you want to dig into the puzzles and have a character really aggressively being proactive at poking at the mysteries. He's very analytical and very good at drowning out chaos around him to prod at problems. So if you want a tactical vibe and someone really digging into the setting mystery stuff, he might be best.
Zuko might be better if you want to deep dive into character growth and CR stuff. The setting really pushes people to examine their past and their demons and while it does it in a painful way, it sometimes leads them to a better place. And I think you're right about him clicking with others CR-wise a bit better. There are characters he'd probably clash with bigtime, older characters that would probably realize he's been through a lot and watch out for him, and younger characters like Dipper and Mabel that would be adorable and put stickers on him.
That's not to say Ax wouldn't have good potential CR interactions or Zuko wouldn't have the ability to be proactive but each one would probably lean harder on one thing than the other, so it's down to which aspect you like to dig into more oocly.
EDIT: Oh duh, and regarding combat stuff. Unless you decide to nerf them totally, Zuko would likely be able to keep at least some of his firebending and Ax would likely stay in his normal form and keep the tailblade so on the fighting monsters/protecting people end of things, they'd probably both be equally handy.
