May EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted. FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be screened. MOD CONTACT: If there's trouble, tell me HERE, please! THE WASTEYARD.
You're in a hallway: A long, lightless thing of drab walls and no windows, stretching farther than the eye can see. It smells clean and old, like an empty coffin freshly opened. But something about it strikes you as alive, like the walls inhale and the floor sighs beneath your feet, beckoning you forward and whispering, Hurry.
There's nothing but crushing darkness at your back and it weighs on you, heavy like the ocean a mile down. It isn't hungry, but it looms uncaring and absolute. If you look too long, it could swallow you whole.
Instinct tells you as much, pushing you through the hallway, a sure shot through the darkness to somewhere maybe a little lighter. By the end, you're tripping over your feet and your head is filled with the whispers of a nameless monstrosity that welcomes you home.
Welcome to ̵̱̾t̶̡̛ĥ̶͍ȇ̴͜ ̷̮͋w̴͉̉a̷̰̎s̸̨̆t̶̠͐e̴̯̎y̸͗ͅa̶͚͛r̷͈̐d̷͈̃ . Here, you are wanted.
Penance -- a panfandom horror game based in hell! Reserves are currently open!
PENANCE
You remember a dream.
Or maybe nightmare is more accurate.
It was full of hellfire nipping at your skin and a sensation of being pulled down no matter how much you struggle or cry for help. There's a voice that feels like it's coming from all around you at once. Contrasting with the nightmare unfolding around you, it's smooth as silk. It makes you want to listen with every bit of attention you can muster in the moment.
"Judgement has come upon you, but not to worry. It can still be undone."
The voice promises you redemption for your sins. It promises you a better life and everything you could ever want, if only you just stop struggling so much.
And so you do. You hit a mercifully soft surface soon after.
When you open your eyes, two things become apparent. One, your body feels heavy, like you've been asleep for a week. Two, you're in what looks like a hotel room somewhere. It certainly isn't anywhere you remember being before.
A look around the room done up in red, you realize you're on a bed and there's a window to your left, a tiny TV in the corner. The walls are are bare besides a couple hellish paintings. Beside you on the nighttable is a piece of parchment with a list of sins scrawled in blood. Specifically your sins. You become almost instantaneously aware that your palm stings and realize there's a deep cut there. The blood on the paper is yours.
There's also a device that looks like an old Blackberry phone and a few of your belongings in the room. Looking out the window shows a hellscape full of jagged terrain and unfriendly hellfire, broken down old buildings. It's a nightmare. Stepping out, you'll see dimly lit halls. You may run into demonic staff wandering the halls, manning the front desk. Inevitably, you'll run into fellow sinners like yourself.
The one thing you won't be able to find is an exit out of this nightmare.
Welcome to Penance.

DAIQUA - an MMO-based Jamjar - Beta Month opening June 1st
Perhaps you just went to sleep- or perhaps you only just closed your eyes. Perhaps you were daydreaming, or your attention otherwise lapsed; either way, there's a jolt in the back of your mind, your world briefly morphing in to s̶t̷a̵t̷i̶c̵. When it clears, you're in a strange, misty landscape - your only clue a subtle glow in your vision.
Focus on it, and start your journey through Daiqua. What is Daiqua, you ask? Why, it's nothing less than the world's most state-of-the-art MMO, where users enter a virtual reality and truly experience what it is to swing a sword or cast a spell. Unfortunately for you, while entering was relatively easy - if unintended - you're without any means of logging out, and find yourself trapped in this fantasy world.
While Daiqua prides itself on its realism, for you, this takes a whole new meaning; it may well be a real world, albeit with a few...quirks. Certainly, you can respawn after falling in battle, and can open up a UI on the fly - to say nothing of how items can mysteriously appear and reappear as you sort your inventory. And so, while the world seems relatively low-stakes, there could be worse places to be trapped within.
Nonetheless, for you and those trapped like you, the stakes are magnified. Should you speak with the native players - that is, those who are able to log in and off at will - you'll find that they laugh at the idea of being 'trapped' within the game. And what may be vaguely troublesome bugs for those players become true life-and-death for you - for how can respawn occur if your very existence has been corrupted?
With little recourse, one may find that the game itself is their only option to any sort of resolution. Or even, if nothing else, a pleasant diversion from what their previous world may have offered. After all, games are designed to be fun, and Daiqua is no different. It is a distraction, an escape, a chance to feel in control of your world and your life as evidenced by its very tagline:
Daiqua: Decide your Destiny.
Daiqua is a panfandom, MMO-based jamjar where characters find themselves trapped within the virtual reality of a false fantasy. With the native players convinced they're simply really in to the whole immersive roleplay thing, they find themselves with few options but to play the game, one way or another. Our TDM is currently open, and we plan to run a beta month in June with no apps required. (With permission from Vallaress's mods for the concept.)

There's no tugging sensation, so sense of falling or of being uninterruptedly drawn from your own world, or wherever you've found yourself, to yet another. Your sense of smell returns first, as the antiseptic scent of hospital fills your nostrils and a bright light somewhere above you begins to pierce the gloom as a reassuring male voice repeats your name.
A medicinal haze fills your mind, clouding your thoughts as you blink your eyes open. The man, blond with a gentle smile and kind eyes behind thick glasses, across the simple wooden desk from you seems familiar, but you're sure you've never seen the man before...right? He tells you that it's alright, that you had another episode and required sedation, that the drugs are wearing off now and any residual haze you're experiencing should clear as the day progresses.
After a discussion, limbs still refusing to cooperate, you're taken through winding corridors and up a rickety elevator to a floor with rows of numbers doors on either side. One is opened and inside you're deposited unceremoniously on the small cot within. An undetermined amount of time passes as sounds occur around you, the shuffling of feet, muffled voices, a bird at the small barred window letting in overcast daylight.

Redshift ▼ A CRAU-focused survival horror exploration game. ▼ Reserves Open. ▼ Apps on June 1.
No one knows the how or why of who ends up in the colony of Anchor. No one knows to which universe the planet it's stationed on originally belonged. It is just as out of place as you. Stuck in the same universal lost and found as everything else that disappears from one universe or another without a trace. All anyone really knows is that while the space around the planet, and the people on it, may blip in and out of existence, the planet itself remains the same. Tethered to the unknown. Is Anchor the center of the multiverse, or is it the cosmic junk heap? When it sucks people, places, and things in, can it spit them back out, or do they simply cease to exist on the other side?
Was your signal lost, or was your connection purposefully intercepted?
Part colony, part research facility, Anchor was built by those who came before you. The disappeared. Maybe they found their way home - or maybe they didn’t.
Maybe you'll survive long enough to find out.
REDSHIFT is a pan-fandom CRAU-focused survival game with elements of horror, set on an unnamed planet that exists in the dead space between universes. Player-driven and exploration focused, the colony of Anchor's facilities and story can be unlocked piece by piece through character actions.
Given the focus on CRAU, it's possible to find multiple versions of a single character in-game. Creatures, places, and things from other universes may also make appearances, temporary or permanent, by plot or player suggestion. The way things go is largely up to you.

SAVE OUR EARTH - a mem-loss/AU game set in the UK
Because their old lives are starting to awaken within them, step by step returning to them what was once theirs: Memories, physical features, personality traits, abilities, items, and more. They return for a reason: Because the Earth beneath their feet is a living, sentient cosmic entity, and she needs their help. That is why she rescued them when their timelines ended and let them be reincarnated on their crust. That is why she is calling them back to whom they once were now.
And as they grapple with the fall-out from all that is changing about them, each and every one of them has to ask themselves the same question:
Save Our Earth is a plot-driven and player-choice dependent game, though SoL themes are possible and welcome.
Its genre falls between mem-loss and AU: All characters start out as complete AU-versions of their characters when they enter the game, yet as time proceeds they receive more and more parts of their OU-versions: Memories, physical features, personality traits, abilities, items and whatever else applies. This happens because characters are reincarnated into our modern world after the timelines of their canons have ended.
Please see the following links for our current TEST DRIVE MEME and our current CR MEME, which is open to prospective characters and includes some offers for AU-CR with established characters.

Daybreak Academy 🏰 A Supernatural School AU Game | APPLICATIONS AND RESERVES ALWAYS OPEN
The old woman is small, frail, her frame slender and heavy with age and yet unbowed by its weight. Her eyes are milky white, eyes that have never beheld the merest glimpse of earth and its inhabitants, and yet they are sharp, as if they see things that should not be seen. Her voice is querulous, but cuts through the silence like a blade.
"My eyes see nothing. But my eye. My eye sees everything. And I see that we are nearly out of time."
"Night is falling. The people out in their cement cities don't see it, not yet. The days wane and the nights grow longer. The mists of the Outlands already befoul this planet. Soon, there shall be nothing but darkness. Darkness... and you."
"You, dear children, are Candles. Alone, you are weak, sputtering glimpses of light in an overwhelming darkness, soon to be snuffed out. But together, perhaps you can be more. The smallest spark can become a raging inferno, and that is what you must become if you, if we, are to survive the coming night. Here is where we shall temper that which burns inside you. We shall tend your callow flame that it might become a roaring blaze. Together, your Flames will cut through the night and sing to the heavens, voices raised in defiance that we shall not go quietly into the night. That we will survive. That we will remain."
"There is little time left, my children. Temper your flames, grow and become the inferno that will sweep across this land. Mankind's days wane with the sun. Only by your light will it survive the darkness."
Daybreak Academy is panfandom AU battle school roleplay following the students and teachers of the titular Academy. Ostensibly a rich private school nestled in the French alps, Daybreak is in truth a school for Candles, people who have exhibited growing supernatural abilities. Here, Candles are trained to combat the Nightfall, a prophesied time in which the sun will be blotted from the sky and dread monsters of the Outlands will once again roam it, bringing about the end of humanity. As the mists of the Outlands encroach ever further, Daybreak students must train and fight diligently to protect humanity and prepare. Night will fall soon, there isn't much time left.

Diatu Magicademy -- CRAUs welcome!
DIATU MAGICADEMY
The ‘Sundered’, people brought to the Tenscore Kingdoms by forbidden magic, continue to learn at Diatu Magicademy to get their strange magic potential under control. There, they've endured trials both great and mundane, from ghost dragons unleashed by poorly-thought-out participation in forbidden rituals to the challenges of love between swordwhales and speardolphins. A card game holds the potential to destroy the world, mysterious buildings are constantly appearing to the point of nausea, and a romantic ball challenges students to confront such dangerous avenues as "love" and "finding fancy clothes".
Diatu Magicademy is a magical boarding-school game, offering adventure and shenanigans in the legendary Diatu Magicademy and the floating island city of Anastara. We offer a highly-personalized experience: character actions shape the game and bring rewards, whether it be a closer bond with your familiar or an item of power that can change the world. From the very beginning, you might have a unique familiar like Ballet the Land Whale or Arthur Worthington the mustached capybara, a special item like a Calamity Cannon or a Universal Lever, or perhaps a tie to an ancient dragon or knowledge of a forbidden library. Each month adventure awaits in the form of personalized prompts and responses, as simple as sneaking into a musical performance or as complicated and grueling as an entire manga arc.

THE WAKE
You may try to explain this to your friends and loved ones ... but you're unable to get the words out. So you try and break from the routine. If you're a hero, you may try to hurt someone; a villain, you may try to do some good. But you can't. Your life is on rails, and you can't break free. You're a prisoner, trapped in your own body, in a life that no longer seems to have purpose.
Until you hear a voice. Wake, says the voice. And that is all. You reach out with your heart towards that voice; that voice which promises freedom, escape....
And then you Wake.
Welcome to Nautilus, the City of Change. A place where willpower is the key to true strength, and you can change the very fabric of reality. Welcome to a city where even the most average can become extraordinary. Welcome to the real world.
There are many tasks awaiting you in this city: some great, some small. What will you choose to do with the endless possibilities at your feet?
Come, Dreamer. Bring it closer to the Wake.

LIFEAFTR || A PANFANDOM EXPLORATION GAME
They make the heart bigger.
You rouse to a splash of sea salt drying on your skin. A haze of glass-white sand glitters in your vision, dappled by lush palms and thick, curling foliage that disappears into a jungle of deep jade. From behind, crackling wood and sawing rope groan from a mangled life raft ran ashore. A petering wash of tide over pebbled sand fills your ears as you struggle to gain your bearings in a vast portrait of tropical color.
Perhaps you have arrived here without warning, plucked from a world you hadn’t expected to so suddenly depart. Perhaps you had met your final destination long before you stirred upon these crystal shores. Your guide, the Storyteller, does not discriminate. You’re here now, and the taste of the ocean is thick on your tongue, the faint stirring of warm wind soft against your back as it almost seems to encourage you forth into the island’s vibrant understory.
Welcome to the archipelago of LifeAftr. Your story is about to begin anew.
Lifeaftr is a panfandom game set in an archipelago of the same name, with a heavy focus on survival, exploration, and worldbuilding. Both player and IC influence are strong factors in shaping the dynamic setting, as well as the incorporation of RNG elements. Primary genres are survival and adventure, with genre shifts circling a broad range in accordance with plots and events.
POPULATION: YOU --- a pandfandom horror game based on Silent Hill
If you were driving, you wake up to find your car wrecked even though you don't remember crashing it. If you weren't driving, you simply wake up on asphalt near a tunnel, or on the shore of a lake, its murky waters gently lapping at your legs. You're given a cell phone by a mysterious mailman who disappears without a trace. The note that came with it has no return address and has your name crudely scrawled in crayon.
The world is bathed in an endless sea of fog and the town you find nearby is mostly abandoned - save for the other lost souls like you that don't know how they got there. Don't bother trying to leave; you'll find the way out is impassable.
Surviving in an empty town you can't escape is the least of your problems, because that's only one half of this place, one side of the coin. Every so often, the penny drops: static crackles on your phone, air raid sirens scream, the entire world rots and rusts, and the monsters come.
Upset that you're here? You only have yourself to blame.
Welcome to Silent Hill, Maine. Don't you remember deciding to come here, to meet the person you miss most in your special place? Well, try not to die.
Population: You is a hardcore horror game based directly on the Silent Hill video game series. Gameplay is split into two-week-long modes, a "Daylight" level that focuses on wilderness survival, and a "Nightmare" level that focuses on encounters with the monsters of Silent Hill. Character death is possible (though so is reversing it), and disturbing content will abound.
RYSLIG | A Panfandom Horror Game
These days, not everybody washes ashore in Vandare. The Fog God and her capricious nature have started dumping people anywhere on the peninsula she thinks it'll be fun to end up at, including places like a corrupted killer forest and a town full of religious zealots. But waking up on the Ryslig peninsula, wherever on it that may be, is the least of your problems. As soon as you get your bearings, the humans who have been witnessing this pattern for nearly five years inform you there's something far worse on the horizon...
Ryslig is a panfandom horror game in which characters turn into monsters. The transformation process is often gruesome and painful, and comes with just as many mental changes as it does physical. What's worse, characters are forced to consume humans to survive. Solace may be found by following either of the gods warring for dominance of the peninsula, but there are also those who reject the conflict, turning to their fellow monsters for help. Can you maintain your humanity in a place bent on destroying it, or will you embrace wholeheartedly the nature of the beast?
Reserves open May 19th. Applications are open May 21st to May 27th.
This coming June, we'll be having a Fourth Wall event that focuses on body horror. Information can be found right here!

And their god, Primus? Well Primus is completely done with the Cybertronians' shit.
Which is where you come in. Primus called you to this war torn Earth to fix the mistakes made by the Cybertronians previously there. To stop the slowly creeping metal from engulfing the whole of the planet. Or at the very least to show humans how to survive such a sudden change. Do keep in mind that currently humanity sees all Cybertronians as a threat, so it might be best to adopt some sort of disguise. WELCOME TO ACATALEPSY
It happens in the blink of an eye.
One moment, you are home. Perhaps you are with your family, perhaps you are at work. It's a completely normal day . . . and then, suddenly, your stomach drops. You are overcome with a sudden sense of vertigo. You cannot see up, or down, or where you are.
All you hear is a voice -- light, bubbly, warm, soothing, in your ear:
Don't worry, darling. This won't hurt a bit~♥
And once that moment is over, you fall flat on your face. It's sunny, warm, with the tickling of glass. It takes a few moments for you to gain composure, to catch your breath. You think, for half a moment, that a hand is on your back, rubbing between your shoulder blades in comfort, but when you open your eyes, no one is there. You are surrounded by ancient stone buildings, with carvings you do not recognize etched into the stone. There's a sense of nausea, overwhelming and sudden, when you realize you aren't in Kansas anymore.
Acatalepsy is a plot-drive world-hopping RPG, in which characters travel from world to world through the powers of Astoria, the Head Witch of the Circle that your character has been drafted into. All powerful items are stripped from your character upon arrival, but Astoria allows you to keep one (1) powerful gift. It will not work within the Temple of Beginnings, but it may work on your travels. Only time will tell.
To make up for the lack of powers, your character is gifted an ability by Astoria herself. If you ask why? Astoria will simply smile and say, Because. ♥ . That gift can be anything from creating fire to creating spontaneous birthday cakes to rain from the sky for about an hour -- however, Astoria does not grant anything too game-breaking to her Circle members. She does, however, get creative in her gifts -- she likes to think she's funny.
Every decision a character makes can change the course of the game, and Astoria keeps a watchful eye over those in her service. The universe is full of problems, troubles, war -- and your character, through their travels, has the opportunity to alter fate.
Hang on tight. The universe, as Astoria likes to say, awaits.
