May EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted. FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. Seeking: I'd love other team members the most but I am down with people from the wider SG franchise or cross-canon too! So long as we can settle on a dynamic that works, and the characters get along (or, yknow, don't as necessary) I am good.
Verse Ideas:
I love PSLs but I hate too much of the small-talky bits. I am down with AUs, Gen adventures, Ships, anything like that.
Specifics:
- Stargate has a canon AU where John is a burnt out detective in Vegas after being ejected from the Air Force. I'd like to play with this! It's fun to play things that aren't a full retread of canon stuff. I'm down to have him meet someone either on or off a case, investigate something your character is involved with, or if you're a canon character and want to try and drag him into the Stargate crew based on his interactions with them in the ep that's cool too!
- 'Cut off from Earth' drama stuff, where without oversight Atlantis has to start making it's own rules. I like the complication this brings!
- Wacky Space People Interactions. There's always room for just, episodic, 'we met the people who believe it's normal to do a whole bunch of weird stuff' type things to kickstart an arc.
- I'm into John getting aggressively knocked around because he basically begs for it by being an idiot on a daily basis, so if you are looking for someone to capture on a space adventure and kick the hell out of I've got your guy
- Equally, if you want to escape a bad space-kidnapping situation with someone John is... sometimes helpful?
- If you want a technical person to help hack you out of danger, Rodney can! Rodney is just also... much harder to match into a cross-canon friendship because he's pretty unlikeable so often. You might do better with canonmates for him or an AU where your character understands him.
- I'm also down for straight-up random AUs. I can do the vague 'coffee-shop AU ship-driven PSL' thing but it normally needs some kind of... arc and guiding idea so we don't risk small-talk stagnation.
- Post-apoc stuff is cool too, I am down to adventure through the remains of earth after your preferred disaster happened. Or the remains of a non-earth planet after the Atlantis project went bad. Or some other option!
Some Prefs:

✓ Ships -- Any combo as long as we're over 21 and the dynamic works. If it's M/M I prefer some nuance to the fact that John works for the military under DADT rather than ignoring it though. If it's Rodney uh, you know, just. Brace yourself for the hot mess!

✓ Cross-canon -- but if I don't KNOW your canon you'll probably need to sell me why it's a good idea and all!

✓ Medium pacing? I try to tag once a day. I can do slow but if the rhythm is too uncertain I can just lose it

I'm sorry our first contact didn't amount to much, I took a look at El Nysa and while it looks great I just don't have the time to join a full game :( But I have had time to work a bit more on a Stargate AU plotline for my Goa'uld part-oc Astarte.
Astarte is a servant of Ba'al who following his death in Continuum decides that Earth isn't safe any longer. So using remaining spies she identifies a member of the Atlantis expedition, Laura Cadman and takes her as her host, heading over on the Daedalus to infiltrate Atlantis and build a new Empire. To take over the city John and Rodney would be key targets, particularly John given that he has such a strong Ancient gene which er Astarte would want to pass on to her spawn >.>
Her ultimate goal is to use an anti-Prior device to trap Chaya in human form and then take her as her new host. She'll then found a new Goa'uld Empire in the Pegasus Galaxy, ruling from Atlantis with the crew as her servants...Unless she gets stopped?
Is that any good do you think?
