June EMP Meme

ENABLEMEPLZ

meme goes up on the last Saturday of every month

FOR GAME ADS:

Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed.

PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad.

FOR GAME QUESTIONS:

RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme.

This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted.

FOR CHARACTER ADS:

Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join.

There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form.

ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above.

If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened.

IN GENERAL:

Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be screened.

If there's trouble, tell me HERE, please!

SUMMER'S END ☼ a sci-fi/apocalyptic RP

[personal profile] wintermods 2019-06-29 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Lush jungles. Coniferous forests. Frozen mountains. An active volcano.

A world on fire.

You have been taken through a rift. No matter how hard you try, the way you came is no longer a door that's open to you. Instead, it's a window, seconds until it winks out of existence... but not before you catch one final glimpse of a home that remains too beyond of your reach, or reveal to you events that betray your own memory: Images of your world destroyed, or someone you loved burning, crying for help... It's a harrowing sight, but maybe you saw it wrong. Maybe it's all in your head. Don't worry, you'll get used to it -- maybe.

La Huerta; it means "the orchard". A somewhat fitting name for a place that appears to be the last haven nurturing life on a planet that has been dead for centuries. And yet something about this island doesn't quite feel like the pocket of paradise that it appears to be; as if separated from the laws of time and space and logic itself, because the island is more than its first impressions present. Where there are thriving villages of wary natives who keep to themselves, there are abandoned high class resorts, always somehow stocked full and maintained by a crew of hologram maintenance. Ruins of old and ancient civilizations are contrasted by the cold and forsaken facilities and machines, which have miraculously survived with limited human presence. Miles of rich flora and wildlife thrive only to enter into a frozen wasteland. Evidence of advanced technology, trinkets and landmarks of a time long gone or have yet to be... just waiting to be explored and discovered.

All you have to do is look -- but the truth may not be the ticket back home that you hoped for. Will you be a hero or a tourist? A savior or a destroyer? Will you attempt to rewrite history... or preserve the fate of worlds?

What you make of time is up to you.
Welcome to La Huerta!

Summer's End is a panfandom sci-fi/apocalyptic RP based on the Endless Summer visual novels. It appears to take place over 800 years in the future on Earth -- though, with the island being a bubble of time and space anomalies, who's to say what year it truly is?

Characters will initially arrive at certain locations on the island, and it will be up to them to find each other as well as answers on how or why they're there... and how to get home.

The story will be strongly focused on plot and exploration, with a heavy emphasis on character actions over NPC guidance.

It doesn't really matter what you were doing. However your story starts, the ending is the same. Fluorescent lights flicker before they die. Streets crumble into ash. In a fraction of a second, like a high-speed car crash, the world contorts into something else.

You're in a hallway: A long, lightless thing of drab walls and no windows, stretching farther than the eye can see. It smells clean and old, like an empty coffin freshly opened. But something about it strikes you as alive, like the walls inhale and the floor sighs beneath your feet, beckoning you forward and whispering, Hurry.

There's nothing but crushing darkness at your back and it weighs on you, heavy like the ocean a mile down. It isn't hungry, but it looms uncaring and absolute. If you look too long, it could swallow you whole.

Instinct tells you as much, pushing you through the hallway, a sure shot through the darkness to somewhere maybe a little lighter. By the end, you're tripping over your feet and your head is filled with the whispers of a nameless monstrosity that welcomes you home.

Welcome to ̵̱̾t̶̡̛ĥ̶͍ȇ̴͜ ̷̮͋w̴͉̉a̷̰̎s̸̨̆t̶̠͐e̴̯̎y̸͗ͅa̶͚͛r̷͈̐d̷͈̃ . Here, you are wanted.

THE WASTEYARD is a panfandom role-playing game, with mystery and surreal horror elements. Cast into a cosmic junkyard, characters find themselves in a decaying labyrinth where the landscape shifts and stirs like something alive—and never quite makes sense. The overarching plot involves characters' relationships with the world and is driven by character action, with opportunity for player-inspired worldbuilding and expansion.

Applications are always OPEN unless we hit our character cap.

You find yourself paralyzed when you wake. Mind coming to, you can't yet move for a couple moments and despite the shock of it, you feel calm. At ease. Like you just woke up from the best nap of your life. Your breathing evens, and you can curl your fingers, shift your legs.

The world fades in slowly when you open your eyes ... Natural light floods the room, and you sit up to see someone in a dark uniform watching you with hardened eyes.

They talk to you with a tone just as stony as their gaze, telling you what you are, how you've gotten here, and what to do now.

You're what they call the Displaced, meaning someone who has been pulled in from a universe far and foreign to the one you find yourself in now. Apparently, it's the work of a small number of Gods, and there should be a marking somewhere on you detailing who that God is.

They tell you what they're fighting -- dripping, clawed things with glowing eyes and fatal bites -- and they tell you there's no option.

You have to keep moving, no matter what.

Dead Empire is a world-hopping panfandom game set in a vast universe ravaged by beasts, formerly "hidden behind the sun"; the Gods overseeing this universe have been beaten and forced into hiding themselves. Despite this, from where they are, they're still able to pull in beings they feel can help clear away the creatures that have laid waste to so many worlds.

This is a horror game with elements of survival, fantasy, and some politics with the Survivor Factions.

Interaction with the plot/NPCs will change the setting and the monsters.

The first TDM is now live.
Reserves open July 1st.
Applications open July 5th.
The game opens on July 11th.

Redshift.

Your cell phone dropped a call. Your email bounced. A payment didn't go through. Your radio gets fuzzy. Somewhere along the way, lines got crossed, and crucial information vanished into the ether. What if the same thing could happen to you?

No one knows the how or why of who ends up in the colony of Anchor. No one knows to which universe the planet it's stationed on originally belonged. It is just as out of place as you. Stuck in the same universal lost and found as everything else that disappears from one universe or another without a trace. All anyone really knows is that while the space around the planet, and the people on it, may blip in and out of existence, the planet itself remains the same. Tethered to the unknown. Is Anchor the center of the multiverse, or is it the cosmic junk heap? When it sucks people, places, and things in, can it spit them back out, or do they simply cease to exist on the other side?

Was your signal lost, or was your connection purposefully intercepted?

Part colony, part research facility, Anchor was built by those who came before you. The disappeared. Maybe they found their way home - or maybe they didn’t.

Maybe you'll survive long enough to find out.

REDSHIFT is a pan-fandom CRAU-focused survival game with elements of horror, set on an unnamed planet that exists in the dead space between universes. Player-driven and exploration focused, the colony of Anchor's facilities and story can be unlocked piece by piece through character actions.

Given the focus on CRAU, it's possible to find multiple versions of a single character in-game. Creatures, places, and things from other universes may also make appearances, temporary or permanent, by plot or player suggestion. The way things go is largely up to you.

RESERVES are currently open. ▼ APPLICATIONS close on July 7, 2019 at 12:00 am.

At the edge of waking, between the Land of Dreams and the World of Nightmares, lies a kingdom ruled by the imagination. For centuries this Magic Kingdom existed in relative peace, ensuring the balance between Good and Evil. But, nothing lasts for ever, not even the most creative, wonderful of imaginations. The disappearance of the Magic Kingdoms' creator has broken the magic that kept this world alive.

Now, the Magic Kingdoms lay corrupted and deserted. Abandoned by the colorful characters and ideas that once ran rampant through the corridors. Two of the Kingdoms most powerful beings have, reluctantly, come together in an attempt to keep the balance and stop the corruption of their home. But they can not do it alone.

Penance - a panfandom horror game based in hell! New TDM is live + apps open July 1st!

[personal profile] penancemods 2019-06-30 06:41 am (UTC)(link)

PENANCE

You remember a dream.

Or maybe nightmare is more accurate.

It was full of hellfire nipping at your skin and a sensation of being pulled down no matter how much you struggle or cry for help. There's a voice that feels like it's coming from all around you at once. Contrasting with the nightmare unfolding around you, it's smooth as silk. It makes you want to listen with every bit of attention you can muster in the moment.

"Judgement has come upon you, but not to worry. It can still be undone."

The voice promises you redemption for your sins. It promises you a better life and everything you could ever want, if only you just stop struggling so much.

And so you do. You hit a mercifully soft surface soon after.

When you open your eyes, two things become apparent. One, your body feels heavy, like you've been asleep for a week. Two, you're in what looks like a hotel room somewhere. It certainly isn't anywhere you remember being before.

A look around the room done up in red, you realize you're on a bed and there's a window to your left, a tiny TV in the corner. The walls are are bare besides a couple hellish paintings. Beside you on the nighttable is a piece of parchment with a list of sins scrawled in blood. Specifically your sins. You become almost instantaneously aware that your palm stings and realize there's a deep cut there. The blood on the paper is yours.

There's also a device that looks like an old Blackberry phone and a few of your belongings in the room. Looking out the window shows a hellscape full of jagged terrain and unfriendly hellfire, broken down old buildings. It's a nightmare. Stepping out, you'll see dimly lit halls. You may run into demonic staff wandering the halls, manning the front desk. Inevitably, you'll run into fellow sinners like yourself.

The one thing you won't be able to find is an exit out of this nightmare.

Welcome to Penance.

[community profile] penancerp is an 18+ horror game based in hell around the concepts of redemption and corruption. Characters are given an opportunity for both, but since damned souls fuel hell, the temptation to do bad will definitely be prevalent. Monthly events will center on physical and psychological abuse and torture, body horror, pitting characters against each other, exploration, and navigating through hell itself. If your character chooses to give into sin, this may also lead to more locations to explore and develop as hell gains more power. Player plots are encouraged. This game is sex-friendly and will likely deal with many potentially triggering topics.

THE DEAD HOUSE | A Sanatorium-Based Horror RP

"The Dead House"

Welcome to Whispering Pines Sanatorium

LINKS

There's no tugging sensation, so sense of falling or of being uninterruptedly drawn from your own world, or wherever you've found yourself, to yet another. Your sense of smell returns first, as the antiseptic scent of hospital fills your nostrils and a bright light somewhere above you begins to pierce the gloom as a reassuring male voice repeats your name.

A medicinal haze fills your mind, clouding your thoughts as you blink your eyes open. The man, blond with a gentle smile and kind eyes behind thick glasses, across the simple wooden desk from you seems familiar, but you're sure you've never seen the man before...right? He tells you that it's alright, that you had another episode and required sedation, that the drugs are wearing off now and any residual haze you're experiencing should clear as the day progresses.

After a discussion, limbs still refusing to cooperate, you're taken through winding corridors and up a rickety elevator to a floor with rows of numbers doors on either side. One is opened and inside you're deposited unceremoniously on the small cot within. An undetermined amount of time passes as sounds occur around you, the shuffling of feet, muffled voices, a bird at the small barred window letting in overcast daylight.

...welcome to your new home...
