August EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be screened and/or deleted. FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL/1-on-1 ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL/1-on-1 section, where you post the canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be screened. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be screened. MOD CONTACT: If there's trouble, tell me HERE, please! THE WAKE
You may try to explain this to your friends and loved ones ... but you're unable to get the words out. So you try and break from the routine. If you're a hero, you may try to hurt someone; a villain, you may try to do some good. But you can't. Your life is on rails, and you can't break free. You're a prisoner, trapped in your own body, in a life that no longer seems to have purpose.
Until you hear a voice. Wake, says the voice. And that is all. You reach out with your heart towards that voice; that voice which promises freedom, escape....
And then you Wake.

RYSLIG | A Panfandom Horror Game
You wake up in a hospital made out of flesh, half-digested gurneys sticking out of the pulsating, organic walls. You wake up in a battle arena where people rent rooms to settle grudges, where anyone who dies revives instantly in a neon-lit lobby. You wake up in a museum exhibit that bears an uncanny resemblance to your childhood bedroom. You wake up in an ice bath. You wake up underground.
New arrivals never appear in the same place twice. All that’s clear is that it’s not home.
Welcome to the Ryslig Peninsula.
Ryslig is a panfandom horror game in which characters turn into monsters. The transformation process is often gruesome and painful, and comes with just as many mental changes as it does physical. What's worse, characters are forced to consume humans to survive. Solace may be found by following either of the gods warring for dominance of the peninsula, but there are also those who reject the conflict, turning to their fellow monsters for help. Can you maintain your humanity in a place bent on destroying it, or will you embrace wholeheartedly the nature of the beast?
Reserves open September 19th. Applications are open September 21st to September 27th.

LIFEAFTR || A PANFANDOM EXPLORATION GAME
They make the heart bigger.
You rouse to a splash of sea salt drying on your skin. A haze of glass-white sand glitters in your vision, dappled by lush palms and thick, curling foliage that disappears into a jungle of deep jade. From behind, crackling wood and sawing rope groan from a mangled life raft ran ashore. A petering wash of tide over pebbled sand fills your ears as you struggle to gain your bearings in a vast portrait of tropical color.
Perhaps you have arrived here without warning, plucked from a world you hadn’t expected to so suddenly depart. Perhaps you had met your final destination long before you stirred upon these crystal shores. Your guide, the Storyteller, does not discriminate. You’re here now, and the taste of the ocean is thick on your tongue, the faint stirring of warm wind soft against your back as it almost seems to encourage you forth into the island’s vibrant understory.
Welcome to the archipelago of LifeAftr. Your story is about to begin anew.
Lifeaftr is a panfandom game set in an archipelago of the same name, with a heavy focus on survival, exploration, and worldbuilding. Both player and IC influence are strong factors in shaping the dynamic setting, as well as the incorporation of RNG elements. Primary genres are survival and adventure, with genre shifts circling a broad range in accordance with plots and events.
Redshift ▼ A CRAU-focused survival horror exploration game. ▼ Apps open Sept 1st.
No one knows the how or why of who ends up in the colony of Anchor. No one knows to which universe the planet it's stationed on originally belonged. It is just as out of place as you. Stuck in the same universal lost and found as everything else that disappears from one universe or another without a trace. All anyone really knows is that while the space around the planet, and the people on it, may blip in and out of existence, the planet itself remains the same. Tethered to the unknown. Is Anchor the center of the multiverse, or is it the cosmic junk heap? When it sucks people, places, and things in, can it spit them back out, or do they simply cease to exist on the other side?
Was your signal lost, or was your connection purposefully intercepted?
Part colony, part research facility, Anchor was built by those who came before you. The disappeared. Maybe they found their way home - or maybe they didn’t.
Maybe you'll survive long enough to find out.
REDSHIFT is a pan-fandom CRAU-focused survival game with elements of horror, set on an unnamed planet that exists in the dead space between universes. Player-driven and exploration focused, the colony of Anchor's facilities and story can be unlocked piece by piece through character actions.
Given the focus on CRAU, it's possible to find multiple versions of a single character in-game. Creatures, places, and things from other universes may also make appearances, temporary or permanent, by plot or player suggestion. The way things go is largely up to you.

PENANCE
You remember a dream.
Or maybe nightmare is more accurate.
It was full of hellfire nipping at your skin and a sensation of being pulled down no matter how much you struggle or cry for help. There's a voice that feels like it's coming from all around you at once. Contrasting with the nightmare unfolding around you, it's smooth as silk. It makes you want to listen with every bit of attention you can muster in the moment.
"Judgement has come upon you, but not to worry. It can still be undone."
The voice promises you redemption for your sins. It promises you a better life and everything you could ever want, if only you just stop struggling so much.
And so you do. You hit a mercifully soft surface soon after.
When you open your eyes, two things become apparent. One, your body feels heavy, like you've been asleep for a week. Two, you're in what looks like a hotel room somewhere. It certainly isn't anywhere you remember being before.
A look around the room done up in red, you realize you're on a bed and there's a window to your left, a tiny TV in the corner. The walls are are bare besides a couple hellish paintings. Beside you on the nighttable is a piece of parchment with a list of sins scrawled in blood. Specifically your sins. You become almost instantaneously aware that your palm stings and realize there's a deep cut there. The blood on the paper is yours.
There's also a device that looks like an old Blackberry phone and a few of your belongings in the room. Looking out the window shows a hellscape full of jagged terrain and unfriendly hellfire, broken down old buildings. It's a nightmare. Stepping out, you'll see dimly lit halls. You may run into demonic staff wandering the halls, manning the front desk. Inevitably, you'll run into fellow sinners like yourself.
The one thing you won't be able to find is an exit out of this nightmare.
Welcome to Penance.

MEADOWLARK | A CYBERPUNK OPEN-WORLD PANFANDOM GAME
Will you find the source, or an answer to why you're here? Are you the cause of this deterioration or the solution? Does this world matter to you, or is there something more important waiting beyond the horizon? All you know is that you have been changed. Now it's time to make a decision. Will you look for answers, or just a way home?
MEADOWLARK is a panfandom sci-fi/science fantasy cyberpunk game set on a far future Earth radically changed by war, climate change and a series of catastrophic geological phenomena. The human race now live in dense mega-cities, carefully contained under firm government controls, or terraforming colonies orbiting several planets and moons.
Characters arrive in game having already been in this world for several months. Experiencing the effects of heavy sedation, and showing signs of multiple medical procedures, they have no memory of where they have been held, what has been done to them, or how they came to be here. They have been left with lasting changes: a neural implant in their head, and some unknown glowing blue matter fused into their sternum which prevents use of canon powers while also providing a shared empathy bond and a new power.
Primarily constructed as an open-world setting with an over-arching core mod plot, Meadowlark is designed to adapt and adjust to the choices characters make and the paths they forge through the game. As the world begins to experience a series of strange and cataclysmic events, characters will find that the mystery of what happened to them is linked to the fate of this solar system and the people living in it. They will be pushed to make many choices and explore their own beliefs and motivations as they move through a world disrupted by the threat of an oncoming apocalypse, when all they may truly want to do is simply return home.

FORGOTTEN TALES § A panfandom fairy tale based structured sandbox game
A place where the worlds and characters of stories and fairy tales exist to live their own life. Born from the breath, carvings, and ink of storytellers, these worlds have grown over the centuries, changing and adapting with each new take and spin. It didn't matter how the story was told, but that it was told at all, and the characters lived in celebration each time their tale was told anew.
But time has passed and tales once beloved and widespread are quickly becoming forgotten. As more books gather dust on the shelves and people no longer come together to listen of tall tales and epic adventures, these worlds begin to fade away. It's slow at first, almost unnoticeable, until the worlds begin to crumble and disappear into infinite darkness known as the Void. Hastening the Realm's destruction is a creature called "the Story Eater." It tears through each world, even those still thriving, consuming and destroying everything in its path until all that remains is left to the Void.
The chaos does not end here.
After gaining enough power, the Story Eater is able to extend its reach out into the worlds outside the Realm. Through the pages and media connecting the worlds, the Story Eater steals the souls of those who unknowingly come in contact. Some victims are left in a strange coma while others are used as puppets to continue causing havoc and mayhem. Minions known as "Erasers" are also sent through, taking forms of humans and monsters to spread the Story Eaters influence and wreak havoc. No world is safe from its rampage.
However, there is still time.
An entity known as "the Storyteller" uses their power to seek out anyone they can reach through any means not yet tainted by the Story Eater, and those who answer have the choice to help or to ignore. If they decide to help, their souls are transported through the pages into the Realm of Stories. Inheriting the essences of fallen storybook characters, they are transformed into entities known as Aspects and are tasked to help not only combat the Story Eater and its minions, but to restore the lost stories.
If they don't, then their own worlds may be consumed and lost.
Forgotten Tales is a panfandom, fairy tale fantasy themed, small, semi-public roleplaying game. It focuses on the concept of storybooks being their own worlds and characters inheriting the powers and characteristics of various storybook characters. Player and character action will be driving force behind the game and will be used to recreate stories. So basically, we're writing our own versions of stories.

Cyberformed | A Transformers Focused Game
And their god, Primus? Well Primus is completely done with the Cybertronians' shit.
Which is where you come in. Primus called you to this war torn Earth to fix the mistakes made by the Cybertronians previously there. To stop the slowly creeping metal from engulfing the whole of the planet. Or at the very least to show humans how to survive such a sudden change. Do keep in mind that currently humanity sees all Cybertronians as a threat, so it might be best to adopt some sort of disguise. Maybe a few humans will eventually come around to the idea that not all Cybertronians are so bad...

CITY OF SIN
They were wrong.
The soldiers in that army existed as they always had, even when battered by forces beyond their comprehension - they lived their lives and held on to their humanity, even in adversity. Even with dire temptations placed in their path. Even with their darkest, basest urges being brought to light. But neither did they become warriors of triumph and purity and pull down the walls of the city, defeating their capturing deities.
In the end, it was a tie. The only winner was flawed, frail, unconquerable humanity in all its shapes and species, and the living beings of the City of Sin unknowingly chose to remodel the reality of the City that had become theirs in their own image as it is remade...for the next round in an eternal battle.
—
The City of Sin used to have another name, now as forgotten as the plans and schemes of the entities that used to rule it. The new City of Sin is large, encompassing seven districts, each with a "theme" and each with a Magistrate. The Red Lantern District is an area where clubs and brothels share space. The Gardens of Pleasure is a shopping district, rife with restaurants and high-end boutiques where anything at all can be had for a price. Finance Street is lined with brokerage firms, banks and casinos. Leisurebrook has inns, bed and breakfasts, hotels, and internet cafes. The Coliseum is filled with gymnasiums as well as its namesake, where one can view no-holds-barred battles between the city's residents, and also - aptly enough - where the Police Station is located. Shantytown is a run-down area of the city near the docks, filled with warehouses and stifling poverty.
In the center of the City is the Tower, shining and impeccable. It is the information hub and heart of the City as well as where its Magistrates meet to rule by committee. There are whispers that there is a central leader and mediator, but to those outside the power structures of the city, this is just rumor. Each Magistrate has their own style and agenda. Each is just a touch...
Familiar.
The City is eager to rebuild and hungry to grow. It has started to pull in new residents at a rate not seen in years. There are people who call it Purgatory. There are some who call it Hell. A lucky few favored by fortune call it Heaven. But the only name it has now is...
The City of Sin
