November EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. Character arcs are a bit more dependent on the characters themselves, but all three of my guys have this kind of issue of being painfully too independent so I definitely would like to see them open up more and be willing to be more vulnerable in front of others.
ORV and SL are both Korean novels with webtoon counterparts. ORV's official English version is on Webtoon and SL's is on tappytoon. Both novels are completed. Here are some links though since I know not everyone's financial situation means they can easily pay every chapter.

Solo Leveling
SL is a good read but I think is weaker since the cast gets overshadowed by the main character and isn't the most satisfying because of it, but I do love the main character. The webtoon is actually almost done (it's like on the last arc excluding epilogue/side stories).
ORV is the absolute love of my life right now. I think the narrative is very good and I love everyone in the cast quite a bit. Reading each chapter has me very excited haha! Most people recommend reading the novel first, but honestly I would say that reading the webtoon is fine. Flamescan also notes where the webtoon is vs the webnovel chapter, so it's nice to know approximately where it is at the time. I basically started the webtoon on a whim and got so enamored I immediately started reading the webnovel and got hopelessly hooked. The novel is long even if a chapter isn't incredibly long (2k-4k per chapter? Some of it is things like status/attribute windows too), so just know the novel is about 550 chapters and the webtoon is only breaching the 80s right now.
As a note. SL's webtoon diverges at points to the novel. I don't think the ORV webtoon diverges really at much, but omits a lot of introspection just because of the format. You'll get a lot more of the thoughts of the characters through the novel.

I have an EMP psl comment with a muselist here! I don't necessarily want to tag you with Victor since he's got quite a few trust issues to work through himself, but I appreciate you going through the effort of looking at the wiki 🙏 The balancing in IDV might be shit but I'm here for the fashion and soft murder.
I was hoping you'd say that, Dokja gives the vibe of someone who seriously needs some self-love, poor kid. To summarize my muselist, I tend to play terrible people who somehow end up being protagonists and really kind people with baggage. I'd love to throw Vil at them, but he's both a little harsh as a human being and 18 years old, I don't know how well he'd mesh. I was actually thinking about Midnight from Arknights? He's a vampire who's also an escort of the adult entertainment variety. He's a great listener and his entire goal in life is to find ways for other people to come out of their shells so he can get to know them, but he's an adult so he's not too pushy about it. I think he'd love getting to know your guys!

The novels are free as these aren't official translations. I will note that you might want to eventually install InteractiveFics. Around Chapter 300+ the first translator is replaced by another translator and they change the spelling of the names and it can be REALLY jarring as some of the spellings can feel very different and not everyone is very good with the change. I had to install because I struggled with recognizing some of the character names after getting so used to the first way of spelling. The webtoon links I supplied are free to. Webtoon for ORV is actually free and I think you only need to pay if you want the 5 latest chapters? Older chapters become available for free as it updates though. The link I have is a scanlator who I think uses the naver scans.
Ahh I wish I could get into IDV because I too love the designs and skins. It's really quite good. I will live vicariously through IDV players and the wiki HAHA.
I'll definitely look through your EMP post proper. I had a passing interest for Twisted Wonderland, but that's partly because I recently found out that Vil is voiced by my favorite actor during the Prince of Tennis musicals Ah...haha... But I also really liked Arknights designs but I couldn't afford to get into another gacha. At the time I was playing GBF and FGO (EN and JP), but now I'm stuck in GBF and Genshin hell.
KDJ is someone who is very confident while equally having absolutely no self esteem. He's pretty durable given his back story and the whole setting of ORV, but I can imagine if anything between Vil and him would take awhile to build.
KDJ and Midnight sound like they'd be really interesting to interact with. I know my current profile gives it away but KDJ gains some demon attributes like horns and wings in a transformation he has control over, so a vampire and a demon king is especially tempting sounding (also I am a sucker for wing grooming HHhhh).
I'm mostly interested in playing Kim Dokja or Yoo Joonghyuk with a preference to KDJ since he's my favorite. I can expand a bit more on KDJ if needed. As for YJH. He's a regressor who has experienced multiple lives trying to get to the end. He takes a lot to warm up since he's so used to seeing people around him die and doesn't want to keep losing loved ones. He comes off cold and an asshole, but he's still a protagonist at the end of the day. My guys are all apparently idiot men who try and shoulder everything on their own with varying personalities. Tch.

OH HEY same! Although I know Aoba from a completely different production, when I saw him as Vil, I was like... I'm never getting away from this guy, am I? LOL From what my PoT friends tell me, he uses a very similar voice to the one he used for Fuji for Vil, so it's a bit of a blast from the past.
I'll be the first to admit that Arknights is a bit dense and unsatisfactorily translated, so I'd steer away unless you REALLY like tower defense games. (I REALLY like tower defense games). I haven't started Genshin yet, but, uh. Tucks away my rank 186 GBF account. I feel that.
Yeah, that's REALLY exciting to me! Midnight vibes well with characters who are stiff and have a lot of pride to work through, even if he can be a little obnoxious about it. He's both much kinder and much wilder than he first seems, he's a really patient person. I think KDJ would be a perfect fit, especially if you've got inspiration for him at the moment! (Bonus: Midnight's also a pretty voracious reader!) I'm also down to put Midnight and YJH in the same place together, if you have the time and energy.
Since I don't know enough about these novels to AU Midnight into their universe, would you like to jamjar it? There ARE demon-like species in Arknights, and it so happens that vampires are a subspecies of that species, but I won't ask you to do that much research just to get a thread off the ground. I'm equally all right with just tossing them together from their original canons to see what happens! If getting a more traditionally vampire-ish vampire from Earth is more your bag, I also have an AU of Midnight where he's from Taisho era Japan. We'd have to do a bit of time travel, but putting them on the same planet might help put them on the same page.

I'm already hashing out details there with another crosscanon partner, so I'd love to work out details with you while I have momentum for it. One of the issues with Genshin is that there's a lot of localization issues that people really hate since it takes out all the nuances of characters and it really causes issues with their characterization from every other language vs English. We can jamjar it! I also think that the Arknights setting wouldn't be bad either. Glancing through some of the wiki (Operators and the maincharacter/Doctor and Rhode Island pages) to kind of at least get an idea of the roles and it's pretty easy to insert him into the setting. I could see KDJ being an exceptionally good Field Commander and probably well liked from a professional stance (personality hit or miss cuz he's kind of a bastard and a loner) since he cares a lot for his Operators that come under his wing. On the flipside though he'd be a double-edge sword since he would probably be a melee type and the type who would fight alongside the Operators he's someone very determined to keep everyone alive at the risk of his own life. So low death toll of Operators but high hospital count for himself and has really wild plans/ideas that might make him seem like a loose cannon at times. KDJ is the type who makes plans, but only shows or tells what his team needs to know. He'll hide everything else and leave them in the dark, especially if it's something that puts him in danger. Also browsing through the species I am a sucker for mixing races and since KDJ has feathered wings and horns he can easily fit in as a Liberi/Sarkaz.
Would that work as a decent basis to start off?

OMG... You know, I was about to point out that mixed species couples in Arknights tend to only result in children purely of one species or the other, but like, can I throw an option at you? In Arknights, there's a species called Sankta who have wings and halos... basically, they're angels! It's not technically confirmed yet, but it's more or less a character arc for a lady called Mostima that she used to be a Sankta, but something happened to her and she turned into a fallen angel, which manifests as a sort of Sankta/Sarkaz hybrid... which implies that if you fuck up hard enough as an angel, you become something in between! I'm not saying that the feathers have to go - it's Arknights, not even Arknights cares about Arknights, add the feathers - but it could be an interesting thing to throw into Dokja's past and it would give more solid in-universe compliant basis for Dokja to have both wings and horns. Just throwing that out there!
Also, if you want to go all in on the AU, you have the option of giving Dokja a codename! A few operators just use their real name as their call sign, but it's a cool opportunity to make up something neat if you like :)
Anyway, I love Dokja as a ranking officer in Rhodes Island's little mercenary army LOL he honestly sounds like someone Amiya would be like... Doctor, we're adopting that one so we can gently remind him to go to therapy. Plus, Midnight facing consequences for giving Dokja too much lip? Incredible. Please, I want this.

I’m howling right now because that would be perfect for him to be honest. Dokja is really all about having no self preservation and sacrificing himself and I can completely see him doing things that would cause his descent. His actions have always been for the sake of others and so he’d willingly suffer and accept whatever consequences if it meant that his comrades can see the next day. I’m sure I can draw some parallels to his actions in orv to work for that. Ahhh I’m excited (to ruin his life)!!!
I definitely know one or two codenames he would use and probably wouldn’t actually tell anyone his actual name so only official documents or people very close to him would know his real name. He just wouldn’t be able to stomach if people figured out his past so he hides it all. It would be so good for Midnight to eventually learn of his past and his name and everything.
Dokja and his outrageous plans that work out but then his Operator team coming back fairly healthy except him being carried and needing medical existence. An actual idiot with no self preservation and everyone in Rhode Island really wishes he’d stop that because he’s just as important as everyone else!!

OH WAIT ALMOST FORGOT I don't know if you got far enough in the Arknights wiki to figure this out, but like 60-70% of the Arknights cast is dying of a terminal illness caused by magic cancer rocks (Just think mako from FFVII and it's basically the same thing). Midnight has the version of magic rock cancer that manifests as like... kind of like leukemia I guess? If you want an added layer of tragedy, you can make Dokja ~terminally ill~, but being terminally ill is a part of Midnight's characterization that I should mention just so it doesn't blindside you!

I’m a convention artist so this trip is partially vacation and partially work.
