FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. Rhodos is a Silent Hill inspired horror game focusing on psychological trauma and you also app your character's "Manifestation" which you create, which stalks and haunts them and plays off of their worst personality attributes and trauma. We are still on the TDM but apps open 8/23 and the game is set to start on 9/1.

[game info]: Folkmore is a folklore/mythology-based game where characters are sorted into the categories of Legends ("good" guys), Myths ("bad" guys), and Familiars ("neutral" guys), with new physical characteristics to go with it. The Fox in charge of the setting gives the characters trials every month to explore what the ideas of "good," "bad," and "neutral" really mean.
It's AU-friendly (including CRAU), AC-less, and invite-only, but invites are easy to come by (I can give you one!), and you don't need an invite to hit up the monthly test drive anyway, which should go up around the last week of the month. Reserves open on the 1st, and apps open on the 5th.

[game info]: Annexed is a sci-fi/fantasy game that's just opening, set in a world that's been largely taken over by body-stealing creatures called Sylphid. A large segment of the population is immune to being controlled by them, and so are instead chipped, deprived of any powers and forced to support the lifestyles of the ruling Sylphid. A rebellion has kicked up which characters are rescued by when they arrive in the world (due to the Sylphid seeking out more compatible hosts in other worlds) and can then participate in missions, both infiltration and combat-based, to fight back against the Sylphid and hopefully potentially free the world from their rule.
The 1st TDM is still going, and reserves and applications are always open (the game has a cap of 60 players, but applications past that go into a queue to be accepted as slots become available).

So Annexed is a brand new game that's projected to open on August 15th.
Annexed can be described as a mission-based sci-fantasy panfandom jamjar game. While on the Broken World, characters have their energy tied to one of two planets affording them new abilities. Heba gives super powers and Tian gives access to magic.
Another key mechanic is the tether system, people need to find tethers with people of differing alignments to balance out their energy to keep the world in alignment. (Though you can align with people of the same energy as you as well.)
There's a new mission log every other month with missions ranging from stealth and intel gathering to open battles, arrival rescues, or guerilla supply runs. Basically everything that a good portion of the Wing cast are intimately familiar with already.
Annexed has a super active test drive meme (which can count as in-game canon). So feel free to check it out! Everyone's super chill and quite happy to tag out!

All the characters are great.
[game info]: Imeeji is a game in which characters are torn from their worlds, and sorted onto one of twelve units to become idols for the entertainment of hell! Though most enstars characters would scoff at the producer's interpretation of idols! As they aren't dancing and singing. Rather, they compete with the other units in games that can range anywhere from social bingo to death and trauma.
When characters arrive, they lack memories (with the exception of 'auditions'), but those are quickly earned back! And each unit possesses a different powerset and aesthetic. If you look closely enough, you'll notice that several units appear rather familiar, even if they go by different names.

Characters must also make a choice whether or not to join either the hero or reformed villain (but secretly not, for some villains) guild, or be unaligned, with more freedom and way less resources. Guild relations started out less hostile but are getting a little spicy now, though it's not a faction game. It's more an issue of how the npcs/game world are reacting to unaligned heroes. There is a mystery afoot about some things from the guilds' pasts, too. tl;dr there's freedom but a lot of great ic tension.
Hunter is going to see the guilds as just like the coven system and make some very bad choices to try to make it on the streets. (Though he'll keep doing hero stuff). It'd be a very good thing if one of his friends comes along to kick him for it.
The game is invite-only but everyone gets 1 invite per month. I'd want to chitchat first but am happy to offer one to anyone as long as they're chill! Also, right now the game is having a DC Comics' style reality crisis that's a 4th wall event open to anyone, for anyone who'd like to dip their toes in the water.

[game info]: The game's navigation is here! Deer Country is a medium-paced horror-based setting. Characters end up getting one of several blood types that can grant new powers (although it's also possible to be a Warmblood if one does not want to change their powers) which can be mixed and matched with canon powers. Characters live in the city of Trench in which there are a number of jobs characters can take on, and there are monthly events which often draw from various horror canons.
The AC consists of two proofs that can each consist of at least 5 log comments and/or 10 network comments. Apps open the first five days of each months, with reserves open the last week for the month, and test drives usually go up sometime around the reserves. Here is last month's test drive. Please he is suffering alone. He could be suffering so much more- I mean what.
[game info]: Jigokucho is a pan-fandom, medium-fast paced game set in a Japanese mythological Hell metropolis with a Yakuza (video game) flavor. Characters are claimed by one of four factions (corrupt cops, fight club, pleasure house, and info brokers) to try and keep the peace between factions and deal with Weird Shit That Keeps Happening. Characters arrive with no powers and can gradually regain them back (or new powers, your choice!) through activity rewards. There's a fair mix of mod plot alongside potential for player plots with downtime between events, and there is some very rewarding gameplay for characters that engage with the setting. The mods also give a lot of freedom for the players regarding the locations and NPCs, how they interact with events, and what information players are given.
Activity is eight (8) comments made by their character across two (2) or more unique sources. The game runs on a bi-monthly app process with one big event every other month. With the way mods pace things and the playerbase, it never feels overwhelming or like it's too fast or too much, imo! You've got folks who can tag back fast, and some who backtag for as long as you feel up for it. The characters are mod-sorted into factions based on their suitability sections, so you can write as little or as much as you want to support your reasonings for each one.

For TMAs specifically, there’s plenty to dig into! The event right before I joined was a month of cursed blood rain that manifested everyone’s nightmares, and this month was a Tanabata festival where a celebrity NPC was kidnapped into the Wastelands where no one’s gone before. The city is also filled with youkai of all flavors and plenty of mystery to investigate. Jon has been investigating the blood rain while also annoying everyone in the Enma department offices for two months now, he could use some folks in his corner to help. [game info]: Jigokucho is a game inspired by the Yakuza series with a little dash of Yokai inspiration from Japanese mythology. Your character arrives in Hell and has to make a contract with one of four factions to work for them in order to gain a reward of their choosing. It is faction based but the factions both fight against each other and cooperate depending on circumstances. It's 50% slice of life in neon-lit Hell and 50% action based depending on the situation. A perfect den of chaos for Disco Elysium characters to shine in! Harry and Kim are both taken from just after the tribunal but before the end of the game proper.

[game info]: The official game ad for Songerein is here, but to summarize it's a game that focuses on the power of dreams. Characters utilize dreamotion energy to recreate their canon powers, or they can learn new/modified abilities. The Wizard of Oz event just started if you want to take a look at how mod-run game events are posted.
The pace is slow-to-medium and AC is two separate threads of 5 comments from your character. If you enjoy slice of life, there's plenty of opportunity for it but there are also the mod events, which are bi-monthly, and also player-run plots to play with if 100% slice of life isn't your cup of tea.
I've found it's a fun game and in the year it's been open I've made some fantastic CR and have had some really great threads.

[wanted]: I would love a Morvay, but I think that anyone who'd be considered appable would find a niche to carve for themselves and have a great time! Kuya especially would thrive, since the native NPC populace are yokai and there's so much opportunity for him to Shitstir.
[game info]: Jigoku-cho is a panfandom faction game that combines the Yakuza series with Japanese mythology; there's a lot of potential for plot involvement if your character's that super proactive detective sort, as well as faction influence, and the AC is super easy (8 comments over 2+ threads a month). Aster's currently just trying to eke a name for himself out because reputation = influence = power = money = tasty good, so he's not super involved with the inter-factional stuff bar seeking out factions, but the game's really what you make of it since it's so player-driven!

[game's current cast]: Just Ed. He's from mangaverse/Brotherhood. Basically, recently his canon point has been updated from after passing out fighting Kimblee up North to when he gets pulled on the Promised Day with the rest of the Sacrifices. (yay finally post timeskip where he gets a bit taller!!)
[who I play]: The titular prodigy protag, Edward Elric himself.
[wanted]: Anyone, really. Winry would be great and fit right in with the other more technology minded types in the lab. Alphonse would be great to give Ed some restraint. But honestly I feel most all the cast would work in some way, especially given the premise of being pulled in to fix something the characters regret. So I'd be down for the Xing crew or Mustang's gang in the military for example.
[game info]: The game premise is basically that characters are pulled in to help with missions to retrieve these orbs. If they keep getting enough orbs from different missions on different worlds (base is a space station, from there they are teleported to different worlds on missions) they can fix something they regret. So I figure this fits in well with Fullmetal given there is a lot of guilt and regret with the cast in general regarding Ishval for the older military gang ala Roy and Hughes and Rize for example, getting Al's body back in Ed's case for example.
There's a variety of characters from various canons so it's been great getting that cross canon cr going for Ed. He's been there about a year or so since the game started. There's cap so apps are kind of competitive and I get if that puts some off and I know a lot of others have moved on from Fullmetal, but if there are any other players out there that were keen for a game.
Missions have taken place in a variety of settings, from old west sort of style things to futuristic type settings, to currently a mission set in an underwater world. The missions usually last one to two months. So there's a lot of variety going and a lot of different focuses for missions in what characters need to do to get the orb. I can try answer questions if anyone has any?

[game info]: Deer is a horror game with plenty of action, adventure, monsters, and new deity-like beings. You can keep canon characters or gain whole new ones, or not have any at all. A lot of the warnings for the game are basically Greek myth-esque in the first place.
It has a relatively good pace, not too fast, in my opinion, with relatively easy CR and several months that are check-in only. The next TDM should be going up on the 24th-26th. Come give it a look.
BREAKING BAD/BETTER CALL SAUL @ PENANCE
[fandom]: Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul
[game's current cast]: Jesse Pinkman, Nacho Varga, Saul Goodman (aka Jimmy McGill), and Kim Wexler.
[who I play]: Jesse Pinkman.
[wanted]: Literally anyone from the Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul universes.
[game info]: The basic premise is that your character is transported to Hell (it's inferred that you've died and gone to hell, but there's no memory of their actual death). Upon arrival, they're handed an indestructible scroll that lists their sins. There's a lot of wiggle room as to what constitutes a sin. It could be something as small as tearing off that "Do Not Remove" tag on their mattress all the way up to and beyond committing multiple homicides. You can make up some things if there's nothing explicitly talked about in canon, but it's unlikely that a character has never made any mistakes in canon, no matter how small.
There are monthly events and opportunities for characters to erase sins from their lists, usually by being tortured in one way or another. Death can happen, but only lasts for a day followed by a recovery period. Canon updates are allowed. If a character sins while in Hell, those sins will be added automatically to their list of sins.
If a character crosses off all of their sins, they are 'redeemed' and leave the game presumably either to go to heaven or be brought back to life for a second chance. The longer a character remains without redeeming any sins, and especially if more sins are added, over time they will begin adopting demonic features, which are up to the player.
It's a fun and active game and people are very welcoming. AC isn't overwhelming, either. (It's 4+ comments on two threads or one thread and a top-level of some kind.)

[game info]: Songerein is a panfandom game based on the following three former games: Somarium, Empatheias, and Forgotten Tales. At its core it is a worldbuilding game with adventure and character development. Player and character action will be what decides what is brought into Songerein, be it for good or ill.
