January EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. [game info]: Abraxas is a dark fantasy game with touches of horror, political intrigue, and drama, with time also available to grow CR in-between plots. Jayce and Viktor have been in the game for a while now and have built a business and name for themselves as inventors and creators. Caitlyn is newer and finding her path in this strange new world. AC is reasonable at two links to threads per month with no real minimum comment count, but an expectation of interacting with the plot and other players. We are at 53/60 players and our TDM goes up on the 20th, which I will link here when the time comes.

[game info]: Andrew and Eleanor basically just snipe catty comments at each other, but Andrew has a slow-burn plan to try and build Rapture 2.0 in the deepest body of water on the peninsula. It'll probably go just as well as the first one. Maybe worse, since everyone's a literal monster. Come be terrible with us! [game info]: Reparacija is an 18+ sci-fi/horror/sex game with check-in AC set on a dying alien planet in a prison colony. Characters are given 'sentences' which are lists of kinks, mostly of their choosing, that they are given the chance to act out during the game. If it is your choice, you can choose the light track meaning kinks like flirting, hand-holding and cuddling. Characters will also have to battle all sorts of alien creatures. It's a very fun and engaging game.

[wanted]: GIVE ME MORE SYMBIOTES! I'd like to see Flash Thompson* (Agent Venom or Anti-Venom), Andi Benton (as Mania or Scream/Silence), Gemma Shin/Agony, Bren Waters/Toxin, Carnage, any of Dylan and Sleeper's goopy relatives. Our Eddie also would like an Anne Weying if there's any out there!
Also, since alternate versions of characters are permitted, it'd be cool to see an Eddie Brock from Earth-616 or Spectacular Spider-Man or any other canons, too!
[game info]: Game premise here, but in short: Sandboxy superhero game with a detailed (but mostly optional) metaplot! Characters are jamjar'd in the usual way, and find themselves on an alternate Earth where superheroes ("metas") are a common occurrence — and your character is now included among them, and even if they didn't have superpowers before... they do now.
The metaplot is engaging and ongoing, involving social and political tension rising between metas and non-superpowered citizens... but if you choose not to engage with it, and instead want to use the setting as a sandbox for CR, that's also welcome!
Currently, the symbiote crew in-game ("The Oozefam" as they've come to be known) are a happy family unit, living under Wonder Woman's roof. Dylan's growing up fast & has found a close-knit peer group. Sleeper's got a side hustle on Instagram, but when they're not with Dylan, they like to hang out with their BFF Jason Todd.
+ AC is very relaxed (no comment count required, just check in once a month & explain what your character did all month)
+ Multiple versions of a character allowed (so if a 616 or SSM Eddie wanted to app, you're good to go!)
+ Invite-only, but currently any player can invite you (we each have 1 invite per month at this time)

From Legends/Extended universe there's Anakin Solo and Jaina Solo. And from The Old Republic is the malleable protagonist Sith Inquisitor Darth Imperius.

[wanted]: Pretty much anyone from any era! PT, OT, ST, TV shows. I know a couple that people have expressed interest in seeing are Padmé or Qui-Gon from the PT, Leia or Han from OT and Rose, Finn, or Poe from ST. Personally I'd love to see Ahsoka, Bo-Katan, or some from The Mandalorian TV show-verse like Din or Boba Fett.
[game info]: Deer Country is a horror game where your character is assigned a blood type that can potentially give them new powers. There's usually a lot of player-driven plots as well as monthly events going on. You can really go as light or as heavy with the horror as you want, so if you need to take a break after putting your character through the wringer, there's always something you can do with them that doesn't involve mental or physical torture every month. As for the cast, it's the usual SW drama that one can expect from this space soap opera, with everyone uneasily trying to get along and failing miserably most of the time. Maul has been there the longest and has CR with pretty much half the game at this point, so if you need a foot in the door to help get your character acclimated to the game and meet others, I'm up for it!

Ximilia is a character-driven sci-fi mission game. Characters willingly agree to join the crew and help collect ~mysterious orbs~ scattered across different worlds, in order to use their power to change a regret from their past. The base is a space station, but missions are a roll of the dice-- literally this month lol, the TGAA cast's shown up only to be shipped off to a DnD-inspired world. AC is 10 comments across 2-4 threads, and the game has a 60 character cap-- at the moment there are 10 slots open. So far I've found the game to be medium-paced and very backtag friendly!

[wanted]: Harry Osborn, Tony Stark and May Parker are all at the top of the list for the Spider-Man cast! Any other Peters would also be delightful. As for Steven, Marc and Layla always welcome! Or Khonshu; should be fun to put him through the wringer as a human being for a month before going monster. But really, any Marvels are always lovely.
[game info]: Monsters! Horror! Shenanigans! We've got it all! Ryslig's been around for yeeears and it's still going strong. Most of the folks in this cast are relatively new to the game though, so you won't be joining a team of Ryslig veterans. We all like to clown with a fair balance of drama and comedy, so we can provide good laughs and strong emotions.
The pace of the game is slow to medium, depending on how much you choose to interact with. AC does have a points system, but using that is entirely optional. If you don't want to bother with the bonus coins for rewards, you don't have to! 10 comments a month is all you need to pass AC. The December/January Test Drive Meme can still be used, we've got a new TDM going up on February 12th. Next application cycle opens February 24th.

[game info]: Penance is a horror game set in Hell. The main theme is on redemption versus corruption, and prompts frequently deal with some of all seven sins (which includes lust, so yeah, game is sex-friendly and characters must be 16+). Characters are told that they are here to repent for their sins, which can range from serious crimes to arbitrary misbehaviors. From there on you can focus on them genuinely trying to repent (with the promise of eventually going home), or embracing their sins and going native (10000 sins sound better than 10, even if it comes with a new set of demon horns, doesn't it?)
There are monthly events, usually dealing with horror, torture, sinning and some more lighthearted options offering downtime inbetween, and the TDM is considered game canon. There is also a loose overarching metaplot dealing with the balance of power between God, Lucifer and other rulers of Hell. AC is easy with a minimum of just 8 comments required a month.

[game info]: Deer Country is a character-driven, horror-focused panfandom game that takes place in the strange city known as Trench. Blood has huge importance in this world and every character that comes into the game has been changed, not only are they technically a squid, but they're given a new bloodtype that can grant them fantastic abilities while also affecting them in various ways every single month (the effects vary every month, from something as simple as being easily irritated to dealing with severe memory loss or out of control powers).
Each month, you have at least six different event prompts that you can plot around, three from the TDM that happens at the tail end of each month, and three that belong to the main event log. Each event touches upon a variety of horror and they're always accompanied by content warnings so you're never caught off guard (eg: July & June).
The game speed can vary but it's usually medium-paced with a lot of wiggle room depending on your own tagging speed and most people are very open to backtagging into infinity. AC is fairly easy (2 proofs, either 10 network or 5 log comments, or a single proof of an open top-level/post/log that reaches 20 network or 10 log) and there are 3 AC free months (December, April, & August) and your first month is a check-in only.

Jadzia was one of two contracted to AOS Kirk and would be quite happy to see him again even if he has no memories and a different designation. Dax misses her DS9 friends, and I love any and all series.
[game info]: Duplicity is a sex game that revolves around kinks and character's reactions. You're either a Dominant or a Submissive (although there are events where it can change, so if you want to switch you designation, it will likely come up again at some point). There are quotas and contracts, but a/c can just be regular interactions from a variety of different sources (network post, open log, comments, tdm replies). There are monthly events that go on, plus regular interactions of trying to navigate the dynamics of the game.

[game info]: Perchance to Dream is a collective dream hosted by an interactable player character. Tends to genre-hop so there's something for everyone (slice of life/shenanigans, romance, seasonal events, unreality, some existential horror, a slow-burn plot) and rewards CR-building. Very "anything goes" attitude (within reason) with a chill vibe! Right now there's a Valentine's TDM that just went up which is why I got my eye on Zag in particular!
