June EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. The premise is set in a dream world where characters are able to affect the world around them through events, player plots, and more. The game just finished a big story arc recently and we're excited to see what's going to happen next!

[game info]: Duplicity is a dark-leaning panfandom sex game, with themes that center around power imbalance and the lure of darker impulses. The setting is a dystopian modern city with an authoritarian government, where arrivals are sorted into the societal roles of Dominant and Submissive and made to partner together by signing contracts. While sex is required of characters, it can be handwaved or fade-to-black and isn't necessary for AC.
Events are monthly, and can vary from things like voluntary aphrodisiac consumption to monster transformation and false imprisonment--there's always a good avenue for character exploration, and you can choose which aspects of the setting and tone you'd most like to lean into. Player and character action will be what decides what is brought into Songerein, be it for good or ill. You can decide how much of the horror or sex-based elements you want to lean in, since the monster transformations can be prevented through violence or sex. AC is very easy (one thread with any number of comments from you) and the setting is a lot of fun to play with and the mods/NPCs are super engaging and proactive. Led by a mysterious entity known only as the Captain, the ship has a seemingly endless itinerary of ports of call, but, not to worry: your friendly cruise director, Gal Friday, is here to make sure you have fun, make friends, and keep most of your organs!
Passenger's summary, Sail is a ridiculous non-brand-specific cruise liner where we're organic batteries for a ship floating along in its own reality and occasionally we're subjected to The Horrors either by our beloved (or beloathed) Captain, or occasionally by one another! The AC is kind of high (more info here) but we're a chatty bunch and we're always up to some flavor of shenanigans. The cast is super varied and includes several original characters both fandom and otherwise. Gen, Ship, Negative CR is all super kosher here, and we thrive on open communication! The basic premise is here and the latest test drive is here! We're currently throwing a Pride event, curated by the passengers, and there are lots of empty cabins to fill!

There are regular guest appearances from other Greek deities. There's also an Greek-style spa with aphrodisiacs in the water, a pub run by a trio of gorgon sisters, and an ice cream parlour run by a faun. It's every bit as silly as it sounds.
It's a sex-positive game with a relaxed check-in ac in the form of in-character journal entries. The test drive meme is every other month and the most recent one can be found here. It's also private, so let me know if you want an invite for next app round!

Hello there everyone! We are looking for most of the main cast. We did have a full cast at one point but our lovely M&M and Loona had to leave. So spots are open for some new blood! It's been tons of fun. The crew has joined up with Devil May Cry to make an IMP:DMC crossover agency to protect the town from the noctaere, the nightmare creatures that sometimes plague Reverein. Hope you come and join us!
[game info]: The official game ad for Songerein is here, but to summarize it's a game that focuses on the power of dreams. Characters utilize dreamotion energy to recreate their canon powers, or they can learn new/modified abilities. The newest TDM is up on here here.
The pace is slow-to-medium and AC is two separate threads of 5 comments from your character. I wouldn't call this game a purely a slice of life style since, but there's plenty of opportunity for it. There are also the mod events, which are bi-monthly, and also player-run plots to play with if 100% slice of life isn't your cup of tea. I have been playing in this game for almost a year now and I really enjoy all my interactions with others. There is so many things you can get yourself into.

[who I play]: Fio, pulled from the end of her story in the White Autumn chapter and before the body switch. I have plans on canon updating her soon, either to the end of Arc 1 or some time during Arc 3. I'm currently waiting for her tenth Hidden Story to drop. My info pages are a little outdated and I'm hoping to update it soon to line up with information we know in Arc 3. I originally apped into Sails without Fio's nightmares but brought them back via bonus AC/regains. I'm probably going to be getting rid of them once I decide on the canon update.
[wanted]: I desperately want a Levania, her dream eating bug best friend. But I would certainly love to play with the other memory characters from Rein!

There are heavy, horror events with a bit of downtime in between. There are options to opt in/opt out of events if it's not for you! The game just ended "Season 1" after a huge memory event and a labyrinth of horrors. Currently, everyone's winding down before the next big thing. We've got a prom that is coming up at the end of the month! And likely more terror in July.
As for what Fio's been up to, she's made friends and found family. She met and befriended a shadowy child in one of her nightmares, who she nicknamed... Sparkles, who is responsible for the maze of terror mentioned earlier. It is now co-existing with the rest of the passengers on the ship (and able to be contacted via the NPC contact!)

[wanted]: Anyone, but especially Webber, Maxwell, Queen Charlie, WX-78, Walani, and Abigail. I really think Webber and Abigail would get along great with the other strange children already on board and Maxwell or Charlie would have an interesting perspective on the setting and the NPCs.
[game info]: Come Sail Away is a horror-comedy jamjar set on the Serena Eterna, a haunted cruise ship in a bubble dimension that uses the passengers' suffering as its fuel. Most of the horror is in the form of monthly events, like the nightmare labyrinth from April or the battle royale from last May (which are opt-in on an OOC level); in between those the characters can hang out and relax as much as knowing they're stuck on a murderboat allows.
Depowering is minimal with a few exceptions, memories are kept, and humanization isn't required, but there's a strict no-sentient-tagalongs policy. For instance, a Wendy player couldn't include Abigail in the app, she would have to be either apped separately or absent. Webber's spider half is probably fine but he wouldn't be able to bring or hatch any extra spiders. The pace is medium and extremely backtag-friendly, although events can get very fast and active when they start or end. Returning to canon is impossible; even dropped characters stay on the boat in a less interactable form. The players are very chill and supportive, and enthusiastic about crosscanon and cross-medium CR, negative CR, brief threadhops, player-driven events and setting changes, and obscure or weird characters. AC is either posting 10 comments each in three threads, or posting 10 comments in one thread and putting up an open post/toplevel, and then linking them on the AC page.
The game is very, very meta. Part of the premise is that this is the most recent of many cruises, populated by other DWRP characters and the same NPCs, and most of those cruises were much more murderous and grimdark than this one has been. Sometimes those passengers return, one of whom stuck around as a CRAU. The most recent event included remnants of past passengers, and Wilson freaked out about seeing his canonmates there, particularly a Maxwell he tried and failed to revive.

Ximilia is a character-driven sci-fi mission game. Characters willingly agree to join the crew and help collect ~mysterious orbs~ scattered across different worlds, in order to use their power to change a regret from their past. The base is a space station, but missions hit a variety of themes and settings. (The last 3 missions have been D&D-style fantasy & adventure, a tiny nature world facing apocalypse, and a futuristic galaxy with political intrigue.) AC is 10 comments across 2-4 threads, and the game has a 60 character cap. So far I've found the game to be medium-paced and very backtag friendly. Additionally, this is a capped game, but we have an ENTIRE 17!!! slots currently available, join us join us join ussss.

[game info]: Welcome to Expiation, an adventure game with science fiction, fantasy, and subtle horror elements, that explore the concepts of crime versus innocence, definition of atonement, and reflection of self. Events occur bimonthly and it is up to the new residents of this world to uncover the truth of their circumstances, find a means to survive, and return to their original worlds, if they so choose to.
Expiation is a medium-paced game where characters are accused of some sort of crime upon entry--whether that accusation is true or false, or whether they understand it or not. (Ethlyn, for example, is accused of "the crimes of the Grannvale Empire", which she strenuously denies.) Months alternate between Chill and Big Event, and events tie together. So far, characters have been left mystified about when and how they're supposed to answer for their accused crimes, but that's due to change this month. Last month a giant forest monster attempted to destroy the town and overtook the minds of numerous player characters to draft as its minions. Reserves are open and there is a TDM !

[game info]: Duplicity is a sex game that revolves around kinks and character's reactions. You're either a Dominant or a Submissive (although there are events where it can change, so if you want to switch you designation, it will likely come up again at some point). There are quotas and contracts, but a/c can just be regular interactions from a variety of different sources (network post, open log, comments, tdm replies). There are monthly events that go on, plus regular interactions of trying to navigate the dynamics of the game.
