The game set in the Dragon Age universe, but no canon knowledge is required to play. (Personally, I like to compare it to the old days of Table-Top D&D, because that's how it feels like it's being run. Which has been awesome to me!)
It's very backtag-friendly, and AC can be met in a bunch of different ways: 1 open log, OR 1 open network post, OR just 5-10 comments (depending on log vs. network) in a thread. Special thing about their AC: You can earn bonus points for going above base requirements! These points can be redeemed for IC rewards. (Like gaining special abilities). That's totally optional, though.
Characters can be AU'd into the setting, or arrive from their original canon through a rift between worlds.
