FOR GAME ADS:

➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed.

➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad.

FOR GAME QUESTIONS:

➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme.

➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content).

FOR CHARACTER ADS:

➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join.

➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form.

➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences.

➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR.

➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above.

➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game.

IN GENERAL:

➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened.

➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves.

There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened.

➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. They'll get one warning for copy-paste ads, and if they spam anymore copy-paste ads after the warning, they'll be banned from the meme.

oh that makes it all so funny, but it also makes a lot of sense. considering what the judges told dan heng about dan feng's "crimes", and everything else the preceptors (god's number #1 most unreliable narrators) say about him, an armed insurrection makes plenty more sense than "inciting riot" (which, considering what we know of his story and how things might have gone - because all the reliable narrators are dead or, well, jing yuan -, it makes little sense). the "armed" part especially has to do with the """""abominations of abundance""""" dan feng very allegedly created - or tbf if he did, it was wholly accidental anyways

the historical context is really interesting too, but we also know the preceptors absolutely tampered with dan feng's sentence and molting and just about everything else because they had... other plans for him, so. literally everything that went down during that time was definitely orchestrated by god's number #1 unreliable narrators and straight up awful people...

I was sort of wondering whether he also got slapped with the armed insurrection charge for resisting arrest - we know from DHIL's story three that YX was Very Stabbed at some point, and we know from the animation that the Cloud Knights + the preceptors were responsible for dealing with him, so it means the Luofu government was involved. And a popular minority group figurehead & vassal daring to fucking resist arrest for Abundance crimes, or had followers who resisted arrest for him, would definitely be a prime candidate for just getting the armed revolt charge, double especially given the faction of vidyadhara that were fomenting anti-Alliance sentiment among the mermaid dragon elves post-Sedition.

I have spent entirely too long thinking about the fictional politics here because I love palace dramas and complicated politics and am writing a (niche) fanfic where Many politics are happening.

re: the preceptors, we know that while they tampered with the exuviation charm, I'm pretty sure it was JY as arbiter-general that was the deciding vote about commuting the sentence (since the Vidyadhara were stated as being deadlocked on the matter when they had to vote on it thanks to the Ten-Lords Commission). I actually disagree re: the preceptors being the worst - they did and do a lot of shady shit, but they're pretty squarely average for a "scheming faction in a palace drama". IMO, they've just gotten the most detailed focus and I wouldn't be shocked if there were other factions that are Also Up To Some Seriously Shady Shit that we just aren't aware of yet.

...like the Ten-Lords Commission, tbh. The spiritfarer NPC in the Alchemy Commission post-patch says some shit that gives me the major creeps and it's like, okay, what are you doing, mysterious faction that is apparently not subject at all to the Six Charioteers, has sufficient info control that no one knows a goddamn thing about who they are or where they operate, and clearly had Some kind of plans for DH given they were the ones holding him and "educating" him.

it's possible! we don't really know what happened after the entire thing. jingliu killed monster-heng, we know from the animated short that it was also during that incident that yx "died" and became blade, and we know that whole thing also killed a fuckton of people from the appeal from the vidyadhara collectables... but 1) how did yx/blade even leave the xianzhou unnoticed?, 2) what happened shortly after? did the cloud knights find df and arrest him? i imagine a riot over it started after his arrest, otherwise it'd make little sense. i do like the idea that df was just so fucked up over everything he accidentally caused that he wouldn't even resist arrest tbh. dhil's chara story 4 could imply both that df was too traumatized to speak, or he just didn't want to say anything to anyone he didn't trust (though he also didn't speak with jy, so). i feel like we know so much but still SO little about how everything went down, i can only hope jingliu's companion quest goes into more detail since she's a somewhat reliable narrator... mara-stricken aside

and yeah LOL i don't think they're #1 evil of the luofu, but it's very clear they do not mean well at all (lowkey kinda racist, definitely unsatisfied with the political power imbalance between the vidyadhara and other xianzhou races?, bailu's former maid saying she suspected the preceptors wanted to know of her dreams for "malevolent purposes", even jing yuan himself thinking Something Ain't Quite Right *and* the fact they couldn't "control df" was something that annoyed them more often than not). but at the end of the day they're still *just* the high elder's preceptors and in the grand scheme of luofu, they're still a pretty small faction in a bigger drama, tbf.

which, yeah, i haven't trusted the ten-lords commission at all since day 1 LMAO... it was also the ten-lords judges that fed dh biased information about df's crimes if dhil's little interview thing is anything to go by. they certainly have their own scheme that even the preceptors aren't happy about, which just feels like conflicting evils trying to follow their own sus schedules lmao... overall the whole thing is still very ????? because 1) unreliable narrators and 2) there's several different puppetmasters and the only one who probably has any idea of what's going on behind the scenes is... again... jing yuan. who refuses to speak up lmao............

yeah. there's so much we still don't know, though I sort of think he cooled his heels in jail for a while first (maybe JL kidnapped him on her way out? we know he was in her extremely unloving care for a while).

Her being mara-stricken is a memory problem, and tbh she seems to have her own axe to grind re: anything Abundance-related so she's probably not going to have much good to say either. Admittedly everyone being unreliable is also a delight to me, but then I'm biased since my whole job involves putting together a bunch of unreliable sources into a picture of the past. Like even JY is biased, tbh.

Yeah the preceptors have never gotten over the vidyadhara no longer being a majority on their own world. But then again, given what the bitchy vidyadhara tourist in Aurum Alley says re: how the Luofu treats vidyadhara (useful minority population) vs. how the Fanghu treats vidyadhara (majority vidyadhara) especially about adapting shit like real estate property laws to be inclusive of vidyadhara's unique needs or rather the Luofu's failure to do so, they might have a bit of a point re: being disgruntled about that. Especially after Yubie did his thing which was...primarily beneficial to Xianzhou at a major cost to the vidyadhara for not really that much return. It's sort of interesting seeing like, differing priorities and even different visions for like, what's best for the vidyadhara vs. best for the Luofu as a whole, and how those are in conflict.

It's just that this scheming comes at the cost of people we like, lol.

I'm betting the preceptors have Suspicions about her exact origins and want to know her dreams for that purpose. Whatever they do with that information, probably not good (almost certainly use it to sink her legitimacy).

they can join literally everyone else in DF's life in that corner, lol. just imagine the fucking headaches he gave like the six charioteers when he had to deal with them politically. part of me was like "I hope there was a drinking club where they got drunk and bitched about Dan Feng" but that isn't very realistic, if very funny.

Honestly like the different factions playing political hardball with each other with conflicting agendas is just SO good, and it's like "here's our decadent deadly imperial court" shit

(and the preceptors might also have like a unified agenda to present to outsiders but we know they fight internally and they probably have like six different factions. I hope they fistfight at preceptor meetings but even if they don't, the bureaucratic clownery from these mermaid dragon elves is probably very intense and very funny). this is just for me, who loves palace dramas, and am eating it up with a spoon as we speak.

Like DH was certainly a political hostage but there just isn't enough info yet to know past that point. Like maybe once Xueyi becomes playable but who even knows when that will be because we're off to Penacony. Though I bet Jing Yuan actually probably doesn't know that much re: the Ten-Lords Commission even as the arbiter-general because they are just SO mysterious and don't have to listen to him (or the other charioteers), but I really want to know what kind of political arm-twisting he did to get the Ten-Lords to approve his exile order, given that they don't have to do anything he says.
