November EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. [game info]: Sticks & Bones is a horror-mystery-fantasy game set in Aldric's Grove, a somewhat-peaceful settlement in the middle of some seemingly-sentient woodlands. Characters are dropped into the settlement, which feels all too familiar to them, and usually are tasked with "playing with" the forest (ranging from normal games of poker to sadistic games involving possible death and tons of trauma) and just generally flip-flopping between being messed with and trying to unlock the mysteries of the Grove.
We have bi-monthly TDMs, and our current one is here! If you TDM and I miss you just shoot me a note, I try to check it regularly but sometimes... life, man. Apps are always open, and AC is low, just two threads of 5 comments from you each, for a total of 10 comments total. Also bonus AC never expires until it's used so heyo, get your regains in. We are a very small game of only a few players but we would love to have more people in general!

In addition to being thrust into the regular goings on of the chaotic world they've found themselves in, they will eventually be sentenced to a punishment related to their crime. Perfect for a bunch of dumbass crime lords in the making. Activity rewards include mount regains, so they can all get their bikes back too.

Characters are de-powered, with chances to gain powers within the game setting. There is no network."
Personally I'm loving it here. It's a nice, definitely not cozy survival horror where characters find themselves in and it's a general 'adapt or die' setting. There's just a tiny bit of magic to know not everything is at it seems, but the characters have to deal with the world without their powers and only using their knowledge and skills to survive. As anyone familiar with the canon can imagine, Erich is doing just fine considering he never left Pandaemonium before.
He's post Panda 2 and from the Final Days, for context. The bi-monthlyTDM is up and we still have people writing on it, I would love to see canonmates around the place- but honestly, even cross canons are absolutely welcome.
DESTINY @ NEON REQUIEM

[game info]: Neon Requiem is a synthwave neo-noir panfandom roleplay with elements of paranormal horror, mystery, and tongue-in-cheek humor. Characters find themselves in Limbo, the realm between life and death, uncertain whether or not they have died. It’s promised that Niesha, Lady of the Dead, will sort out the mess and send you all on your way… eventually. In the meantime, characters are free to create a life in the mysterious city of Requiem, to pursue their interests, and to seek out bonds with others to generate “anima,” the life force that keeps Souls intact until they can pass on.
Just watch out for the monsters. And the crime. And the ghostly phenomena. And pay no attention to the rumors about scandal, corruption, or dysfunction in the mayor’s office. Sit back, relax, and you’ll be on your way back to life/afterlife in no time!
The game has monthly events, bi-monthly TDMs (the next is later this month), monthly apps, and relaxed AC. While it is invite-only, current players get 1 invite per month.
As far as the Destiny cast goes, we have an interesting situation due to the fact that not all are from the same canon point. Osiris still has his Light, and his Ghost, and currently Shaxx and Mara are in agreement on not telling Osiris about everything yet to happen to him. Adding more cast to the mix is bound to put more pressure on the inevitable finding-out. Additionally Mara is setting up to make moves in the background similar to the Distributary era, so specifically having her brother around could be very interesting.

The island is cursed, dead people respawn in random locations after 24 hours, there are gods and demons and monsters and ghosties. [game info]: Folkmore is a slow-paced, medium-sized, invite-only panfandom multi-genre game that focuses on character development and interpersonal relationships. Characters are brought to the world of Folkmore by the Fox, Thirteen, and assigned one of three roles: Legend, Familiar, or Myth, which come with optional physical attributes and abilities. The game runs on a bimonthly alternating event and TDM schedule (this month is an event month) with a monthly app cycle and check-in AC, which requires a short summary of what your character did that month. Events are ICly called "trials" and designed to develop characters' true potential and/or deepen their bonds with others. Every tag you make in the game earns you a "spoon," which can be exchanged for IC and OOC rewards.
Overall, it's very much a chill, low-pressure game that's ideal for slow taggers, but we have fast taggers too! As long as you're not inactive for multiple months in a row, you're free to play at your own pace. We hope you'll join us!

Welcome to the city of Duplicity, population three million and growing. Split horizontally through the middle, half of Duplicity's residents live in towering skyscrapers of glass and metal and the others below the ground in a squalid, subterranean city crumbling to decay before their very eyes. Depending on the chosen door, left or right, you'll come out into one of these two sides. The former lacks for nothing, and the latter wants for everything. Society functions on a Dominant and Submissive rule. You are one or the other.
Welcomed equally by the people behind the doors, you'll be given matching accommodations and the same information:
LIEs, a program created a few decades ago to bring in new people, has been largely unsuccessful. The creator of the program was given the task of finding alternate humans that did not carry the deceit gene and bring them to Duplicity to make the city better. People keep arriving, but these alternate humans have yet to be found. Not to be discouraged, the creator put the program on auto-pilot and vanished, leaving the doors to reset every month and new arrivals to come in.
The creator has since returned and taken control of the city but has allowed the program to continue on auto-pilot for the time being.
DUPLICITY is a panfandom dystopian sex game that centers around negative traits, power imbalances, and the outcome of succumbing to darker urges. Bad behavior is encouraged; events will touch on kink, horror, science fiction, game plot, and slice of life tossed in when needed.

Everyone washes up on a mysterious island with only the clothes on their back and a military grade transceiver for communication over the network. Martin is from the end of the series and is still, like... 60% convinced he and Jon did this by unleashing the Entities and this is just a horror island that they've taken over. Good times. Come for the crabpocalypse, the evil whale gods who communicate in Morse Code, and mysteries aplenty!

Characters arrive in Expiation accused of a crime (either of the player's choosing or assigned by the mods) and are told to await their sentencing without further explanation. [game info]: Abraxas is a slow to medium paced game in a (often dark) fantasy setting, so most Faerûn folks should fit right in! You can choose one of three starting factions in the world for your character to be Summoned. Dark Urge is currently trying to commune with Old Gods in Solvunn and Astarion convinced another PC to hire him as a legal consultant (??) for a business in the Free Cities. While they are on other sides of the continent, there are neutral meeting places that are accessible every month + the Horizon mechanic which allows people to meet on a mental plane whenever they want.
Events generally happen every other month. Players are encouraged to add to the setting through locales and NPCs. The overarching plot is a slowly unfolding struggle between the main three factions over a strange, massive artifact called the Singularity that seems to be the source of all magic. Events can range from discovering new areas to fighting cultists and strange beasts to diplomatic parties.
The next TDM will be on November 20th and applications open on December 1st! We have a player cap of 60, there's generally 5-10 slots open for new players by the time applications open. I have a character in each faction, so feel free to hit me up with questions!

You're either a Dominant or a Submissive (although there are events where it can change, so if you want to switch you designation, it will likely come up again at some point). There are quotas and contracts, but a/c can just be regular interactions from a variety of different sources (network post, open log, comments, tdm replies). There are monthly events that go on, plus regular interactions of trying to navigate the dynamics of the game.

A couple of months ago a major plot event was introduced with this month being a player based version of it. There's Hunts and Excursions for the Mahou Shoujou side of things as well as a pretty large setting for you to explore for your Slice of Life desires too. Overall, it's pretty chill!
There's a player cap of 50 (currently at 26 characters) and the AC requires players to have at least two threads with separate characters, totalling ten comments overall to pass activity check. This month's AU Planning post is up along with the TDM, which has a pretty good example of the sorts of events available on both the non-magical and magical side of things.

I think Anakin would be cool, and Force Anakin could be a possibility. Bail is from the Obi-Wan series and Padme is from death. Ahsoka from the novel "Ahsoka".

To be more specific, the game's overall themes obviously revolve heavily around D/s and adjacent dynamics, but there are often themes of brainwashing, torture, humiliation, dub- and/or noncon as well, in addition to kinks of all varieties being highlighted or encouraged during events, which are monthly and usually involve 3-5 themed prompts with a variety of different kinks for each. In general, there are (usually) various incentives for characters to participate in things they might not normally, be those incentives be rewards, punishments, or aphrodisiacs that give them that "push."
Dominants and submissives must pair up for "contracts" (a Dominant may have multiple submissives, but a submissive may only have one Dominant), which effectively give the Dominants ownership and responsibility over their submissives for a period of 3 months, at which point they can renew it, or let the contract lapse and find new arrangements. All characters have a monthly quota of needing to engage in at least three (3) sex acts (which can be anything from voyeurism to mutual masturbation to traditional penetrative sex to, well, anything else) but threading out smut is not a requirement, for AC as well as in general.
