April EMP Meme
FOR GAME ADS: ➤ Put an ad up with the characters / crew / pairings / fetish you want for your game under the correct game header. This meme is primarily going to be focused on DWRP games but IJ and LJ games are allowed. ➤ PLEASE NOTE A RULE CHANGE HERE. ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding (no font size > size 4 or 3 "big" tags, no oversized banners (they must be 250px in height or less), no blinking text, no obnoxious table html that doesn't collapse easily, no sparklies, no large pictures). Use all the colors you like, but please remember 3 "big" tags is the limit and that's only for headers or title text rather than for all the text in an ad. FOR GAME QUESTIONS: ➤ RPers interested in a game can create a header for the game and ask questions about that game that aren't easy to find on faqs, such as the actual pace vs. what's listed/what kind of plots are run/if the game leans more towards plotty or slice of life/if a game leans more towards network or logs, etc. Both anon questions and anon answers are welcome in this section just like in the rest of the meme. ➤ This thread is not for speaking about wank or drama in a game. There are anoncomms that exist for that. This thread is specifically for general questions about a game that rpers want to get perspective on from players already in the game. Answers can be slightly negative (such as saying app response is slow or that the plots are repetitive or similar things) but this should at least be worded politely. Unnecessary vitriol, any mention of personal drama or wank, or mod teams/individual mods/players being singled out, will be either frozen or screened (based on what seems right based on the content). FOR CHARACTER ADS: ➤ Put up an ad about the characters you are offering. For PSL ads, there is a separate subthread but for character ads for games, post directly to the meme post. Others will comment to you with the games/casts they want you to join. ➤ There is a "Find a Castmate" section, where you can talk about a cast you play in at a game, and try to lure people to join it. Not all games post to the meme or have a "wanted" section, so players that want to tempt people to their cast on their own can use this section for it. Please format this the same as the PSL section, where you post your character's canons in your subject. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find a Castmate" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. When listing who's currently in a cast, please do this in sentence form (with commas) rather than in list form. ➤ There is a "Find Crosscanon" section, where you can talk about a character you play and and desired crosscanon for that character. Please make sure this is not too generalized a search, because just wanting general crosscanon can be accomplished with the other sections of the meme. This is for specific characters or character types you're looking for. In the subject, please list the "Looking for [canon you're looking for]" rather than your character's canon. If looking for a character type, list the character type in as few words as possible. Do not make the subject huge or I'll screen your comment. For the actual text of the ad you must use the "Find Crosscanon" form provided at the bottom of this post so that these ads don't get huge. This section is only for game crosscanon as in the psl section people can list their preferences. ➤ Examples of crosscanon you can search for: You play The Flash from DC Comics and your dream CR is fellow speedster Quicksilver from Marvel. Or you might play a witch and want cr with other witches in general. Or maybe you play a good character messed up by evil parents and want to play against a villain character you know has evil parents, because you know it'd lead to some interesting negative CR. ➤ ABSOLUTELY NO obnoxious coding, with the same rules as the Game Ads Section above. ➤ If you're recommending a game to someone, try to match your suggestion to their needs. It's okay if part of your game rec is copy-pasted (such as what the game's about), but at least some part of the rec must be personalized to their ad. Try not to recommend the same game to every single ad, either. Ad spam that isn't individualized in some way will also be frozen or screened. Keep in mind this needs to be more specific than "this game has easy AC like you're asking for but meets none of your other requirements." Make sure you're advertising games that might click with that specific character, where a few elements fit what they're looking for. You should be thinking about the story reasons of how the character might click with the game. IN GENERAL: ➤ Don't be a dick. This isn't one of the anoncomms, so any snide comments or unnecessary commentary on the RP plans of others will be frozen or screened. ➤ All mod responses regardless of whether they're rule breaks, correction requests (like someone posting in the wrong section), or thwapping someone for spamming copy-paste ads, have always been and will almost universally be public. If someone sends a PM and the conversation gets combative, this will also be made public and posted to the comments of the mod contact page. This is for the sake of transparency so people can judge the emp mod's communications for fairness themselves. There are times where the player's post may be screened (such as if they posted to the wrong section) but the mod's response will be left unscreened. ➤ Players may sometimes be allowed more than one strike for copy-paste ads since this is often just enthusiasm behind it, but game mods should know better. [game info]: 7Dead is a panfandom jamjar set in the city of 7, a cyperpunk-themed city that changes based on which of the 7 deadly sins and 7 deadly virtues has flourished the most in the hearts of the citizens. the game's events occur within the Amplitheater, a huge iridescent, multi-colored sphere at the heart of the city visible from all of the districts; characters are drawn into a grand story that the citizens of 7 enter and participate in so they can experience what each soul in the story goes through to better judge them. during this ceremony, new characters will be sorted into one of the vice/virtue pairs that will be used to power the city.
in terms of events, so far we've had a mariner's tale that served as the tdm and introduction, with options to make things as light or dark as players like; the second event has been a mashup between the worlds of Battle Angel Alita, Chobits and Detroit: Become Human, a big theme of which has been what it means to be a person weighed alongside the rights granted to those deemed "human". through player actions, we've now also enabled the option for characters to lose themselves within their roles and believe their Amplitheater lives are their true ones instead of their canon memories (this can be opted out of or played around with as little or as much as players would like). castmate developments have been small so far, aside from [persona 5 royal spoilers] and Akira and Akechi becoming roommates. somebody please save them before they kill each other.
the next tdm will go up on May 5th (though the current tdm is still available for use), and both apps and reserves are open indefinitely (with reserves expiring two weeks from the time they are put in). here's some other helpful links with further info: vices & virtues, setting, ac rewards (including the powers character can obtain), and the calendar (including some of the aforementioned info). feel free to respond here or PM Akira's journal if you have any questions!

[game info]: 7Dead is set in a cyberpunk city split into seven sectors based on the 7 vices and virtues (which one is active each month depends on whether people in that district have been engaging in the vice or virtue more). On arrival, characters are assigned a vice/virtue pairing they are considered most guilty of (OOCly you can opt out of up to 2 pairings and then list by order of preference on your app, or just ask for a random assignment), and each month characters help maintain power to the city by participating in essentially a virtual AU in the Amplitheater in the middle of the city, taking up different roles in order to best judge what vice or virtue the characters in the story for the month are most guilty of. Characters can maintain their memories in this setting or completely lose themselves in it until they leave, or anything in-between. The city setting is also quite flexible and there's little bonus prompt tidbits provided for how things going on in the city change month to month.
We're small right now but the playerbase is very friendly and active - Reserves/Apps are permanently open and the first TDM is still active for those who want to try it out (a new TDM goes up next month)!

Characters find themselves transported from their home worlds and stranded in a wild, empty world of eternal winter thanks to strange geological/geomagnetic shifts which has effected nature and man alike. There's no escape. Only the Auroras can signal the comings and goings of this place, and they may be both a blessing and a curse to you. Create groups for survival, scavenge for supplies, learn the harsh ways of mother nature (now warped by the Aurora's power) and survive.

The Corsairs developed in response by those who did not fit the mold. While known for the criminals and miscreants and thus often called "pirates," others who were independent minded would join to "temper" that ruthless notoriety. Adventurers, treasure hunters, mercenaries—they, too, are considered pirates. They pursue the freedom to adventure and stake claim to new horizons. While Corsairs may also delve into fields of "research," their motives are usually more selfish and have less regard to preservation. Their leviathan, Nogard the bone dragon, aids in their endeavors to avoid the Paladins, moving from place to place.
And so the people lived—until one day, someone or something found an ancient artifact that opened dimensional rifts to other worlds, forcibly bringing these outsiders to Escordvi to now live amongst its people. These rifts also brought in strange lands and stranger creatures, things that the native people find disruptive and wish to stop.
Escordvi is a panfandom semi-private game that primarily uses invitations to join but with occasional public app cycles. It is a quest based exploration game with focus on finding and exploring new places and CR building. Despite the existence of factions, it is not a competitive factions game."

Folkmore is a panfandom multi-genre private role play game. The Fox, Thirteen, invites characters to a pocket realm aka Folkmore. She challenges them via monthly trials (game events) to develop their potential—for good, for bad, or for a little bit of both. These physical, mental, and/or emotional trials span genres—fantasy to horror, survival to romance, slice of life to anything else—with an emphasis on interpersonal relationships.
AC is checking in and letting the mods know what your character was up to, with threads used for spoons to get bonus stuff. As you can see, you can be original or even crau if you want to bring your character in with memories of a different game. No cast cap, but you will need an invite (which can be arranged if you are interested)! Has mingle logs and event logs.

Bad behaviour is encouraged; events will touch on kink, horror, science fiction, game plot, and slice of life tossed in when needed. The setting is a city that requires its characters (named LIErs) to meet a monthly sex quota in order for LIEs (the captor NPCs) to research what is called the 'Deceit gene'. All characters upon acceptance of application are sorted into either the role of 'Dominant' or 'Submissive', with different in-game rules applying to each designation.
AC CHECK is monthly and consists of a minimum of two proofs from the following:
- Five log comments from your character
- An open network or log post from your character
- Ten network comments from your character
- Fifteen private inbox comments from your character

And to explain further, basically when you app in there's a choice to be sorted into one of the 7 deadly sins/virtues pairs (Leo is in Lust/Chastity and Tsukasa is in Greed/Charity) which essentially means they're more susceptible to those things and also get some nifty powers. Normies like Enstars (lol...normal...) get extra abilities compared to people who have canon powers when apping in! Events take place in this virtual reality Amplitheater which changes the setting inside month to month. So far we've seen a mermaid event and now we're doing one that's a mixup of Chobits/Battle Angel Alita/Detroit: Become Human with lots of android/robot/human stuff!
The next TDM is May 5th but there's still people tagging into the first tdm and I'll happily boost any toplevels made. Reserves & apps are open permanently and ac is a reasonable 10 comments a month. The game is small currently but very friendly!

Songerein is a panfandom game taking place in a fantasy dream world with an emphasis on exploring character emotions and dreams with semi-monthly events. It's flexible and allows for a lot of leeway when it comes to player-led exploration.
The game has a 70 player cap and is currently at 55. It also has a 10 character cast cap so no one canon dominates the game.

[game info]: 7dead is a game set in a cyberpunk kind of city which changes based on the 7 vices/virtues! There are 7 Districts and each one is set to change depending on which vices and virtues are shown by the player characters.
Events are set in the Amplitheatre and this month, it's themed after canons such as Chobits, Detroit: Become Human and Battle Angel Alita! Characters can lose themselves in a "role" or two picked by the player, and it's up to player preference how much your character finds themselves believing they're really living the role you picked for them. [game info]: Heckin is a very laid back game, activity check is only ten comments. The setting is very much like Hazbin Hotel only you wake up in the Garden after having “died” due to a clerical error. Characters are assigned to Heaven or Hell (your choice) but can traverse between the two a la an elevator. We are just a bunch of goofballs having the time of our lives in a very chill setting. The Silmarillion @ Songerein

A dream world born from the clash of three different universes. One world produced emotion energy, a byproduct created when one's emotions manifested into a more tangible force. Another produced dream energy, a byproduct of one's dreams that allowed one to view and traverse through them. Both worlds produced so much excess energy they were diverted into an empty universe and happened to collide, producing a new, strange world made up of a new source, dreamotion energy. It remained a barren wasteland until a tear through the dimensions appeared and the concepts of fairy tales poured through. Magic, creatures, environments—they were all dumped in a central location and life began to form. But were they real? Or just figments of what they used to be? Regardless, this giant clash has created a unique world filled with unlimited possibilities.
But of course, a clash of this size would have some side effects. The dream energy in particular remains volatile and continues to seep out with its innate ability to connect to any dream in any world. If there is a strong enough resonance between the dreamer and dream energy, a version of the dreamer, a dream self, is formed and pulled into Songerein while the original body remains in their world safe, unharmed, and unaware of what's going on. Only after accumulating enough dreamotion energy can the dream self "wake up" and leave Songerein to return to its original body, all its experiences feeling like a strange, long dream.
Fortunately, Songerein is relatively...peaceful. It's a brand new world after all with only the fairy tale creatures and the dream selves, or dreamwalkers as they are officially called, pulled from other worlds as its denizens. There may be times the different energies become unstable, but it only creates a slight disturbance that eventually settles. Still, the constant connecting and reconnecting through the dream energy means that different things are randomly pulled in and disappear from the world. Those who have decided to make Songerein their home want to build onto it by using the ability to traverse through dreams to their advantage. By creating dreamshifts, they can create giant dreamscapes based on other worlds that large groups of dreamwalkers can enter and bring back concepts to be used in Songerein. Beginning with fairy tales, dreamwalkers could also form dreamshifts based on their own home worlds to bring in something from there. As a bonus, this uses the excess dreamotion energy within the world, helping stabilize it.

Songerein is a panfandom game based on the following three former games: Somarium, Empatheias, and Forgotten Tales. At its core it is a worldbuilding game with adventure and character development. Player and character action will be what decides what is brought into Songerein, be it for good or ill. Although it's expected for players to be able to create their own fun and not rely solely on the mods, Songerein is billed to be more of a relaxed game for everyone to have fun in.

[game info]: Expiation is a medium-sized/paced game with elements of sci-fi, fantasy, and exploration. Characters are charged with a crime upon arrival (either true or untrue!) and themes in the game have them grappling with those crimes and faced with questions of morality. It's a game with a really malleable setting where characters are able to have a lot of influence and really get invested in the world.

[game info]: Fantasy setting, very Jim Henson/Brian Froud inspired (the Labyrinth and the Dark Crystal are visible influences), with elements that can range from slice-of-life to horror to action, and it is pretty easy to bow out of an event you don't vibe with and not fall behind. Pretty chill AC with in-game rewards for activity. If not already a member, must be invited by a player to reserve and apply -- the invite period, reserves, and applications occur in the beginning of every month. As pulled from the FAQ/Information Page: "Expiation is a pan-fandom adventure game with science fiction, fantasy, and subtle horror elements that explore the concepts of crime versus innocence, definition of atonement, and reflection of self.
An overarching storyline will encourage characters to determine the truth about why they’ve been brought to this world and will be impacted by character discoveries and actions taken during the bimonthly events. Player-run events and plots are welcome during months where there is downtime."
In short: your character is accused of a crime of your choosing, which can be later met with further sentencing. In the interim, they're trying to figure out what in the world is up with this place and often have to deal with a smattering of nonsense from their fellow Chosen (re: player plots, which are all very involved!).
Activity requirements are 15 comments a month across 2-3 threads. Virtually anything counts (TDM, logs, network, inbox) with the exception of NSFW only threads. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions or have an interest in the game (regardless of whether or not you're interested in being a castmate!).

Characters arrive in Expiation accused of a crime (either of the player's choosing or assigned by the mods) and are told to await their sentencing without further explanation. They can explore the world to discover its past and secrets, as well as influence the way it develops onwards, while trying to figure out the reason behind their arrival there.
Applications are bi-monthly and will open on April 23rd, while the reserves will open on April 20th; the new TDM is available HERE! There's a player cap that is currently sitting at 48/70. The AC requirements are 15 comments a month across 2-3 threads.

Pluviosa is a horror game set on a long-abandoned cruise ship - although it's not exactly accurate to call it abandoned when it's full Life After Humans going on inside. Subthemes include body horror/corruption, psychological horror, mystery, exploration, in-universe unreality, and atmospheric horror; the tone is Nausicaa aesthetic meets Jurassic Park with a little bit of Locked Tomb for spice. Characters wake up on a strange ship full of unnaturally vibrant vegetation, decrepit mechanisms, and ghosts, and must assemble information to eventually solve the mysteries behind the ship and put these ghosts to rest if they are to have any hope of returning home.
Currently, apps are perma-open! Until we hit cap (40). Additionally, Activity Check is suspended but it's a typical 10+ comments whenever that changes; we do have Discord integration (text) which counts for AC, as well. Events are variable length, every month or so. Player plots and setting exploration are encouraged!
